Zombies, killer dresses, and ancient curses prove that Halloween in Threadville can be sew spooky…

It’s early October, and hordes of visitors have descended on the tiny, celebrated village of Threadville, Pennsylvania, to attend a Halloween crafts fair, a zombie retreat, and the wedding of Edna Battersby—dear friend to Willow Vanderling, owner of the chic machine embroidery boutique, In Stitches.

As a friendly prank for Edna’s wedding, Willow and the rest of the Threadville gang have fashioned an overly extravagant hoopskirt, complete with lights and music. But in a bizarre turn of events, the garish gown is implicated in a mysterious lakeside murder.

Now Willow must follow a trail of glow-in-the-dark thread, delve into ancient Egyptian curses, and creep through a haunted graveyard to unearth a killer—before she becomes the next fashion victim…

I may have too many hobbies. I love reading, writing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and going on long walks with my dogs. I believe I want to make quilts. Sometimes I try to teach myself (not very successfully) how to play the piano.

A few years ago, I discovered embroidering using software and high-tech sewing machines. I'm not certain that everything I own simply must be embroidered, but creating the designs is really, really fun. And they'd go so well on crazy quilts...

I live way out in the country, a long drive from stores that sell supplies for people who like to create and embellish their own textiles and garments.

Sooooo....I invented Threadville, a village where everything I might want for my projects is on one short street, and I created Willow Vanderling, who is thrilled to own a machine embroidery boutique selling the gorgeous threads, fabrics, software, and machines that I wish I could find just down the block.

From time to time, Willow and her Threadville friends may need to take time out from their creative work to solve a murder or two. I hope you'll join them...

Zombies, a Halloween fair, an upcoming wedding and a very surly and unwelcome house guest. And murder.

Willow's politician mother foists the surly, nasty daughter of her biggest political backer onto Willow as a house guest. At the same time the crew are getting ready for the upcoming wedding of one of her best friend, Hailey's, mothers. And for the Halloween fair.

When one of the fair's more odd participants is murdered, the state police suspect everyone. Including Willow and her friends. So Willow goes to work trying to figure out who the real murderer is. (Personally, I would have thrown the house guest to the wolves. Willow is just too polite.)

Fun story, not completely predictable. Takes place over Halloween weekend. Characters have a variety of personalities and are a variety of ages. I have not read any of the other books in the series and enjoyed it as a stand alone. I will take a look at the earlier titles. Just a fun read.

It's about a zombie convention, a wedding skirt to end all others complete with light and sound, a "serial water-shover on the loose, " and, oh yes, don't forget, the house guest from hell! I had read no more than a few pages til I realized how much I had missed these people. Ms Bolin has such a talent for making her characters real people, and I love her writing style, action vs space filling pointing out the obvious. No need to have read the other books to enjoy this one!! But you will want to read them after this! They are all great reads!

I didn't find this latest offering to be very satisfying or really that fun to read. Everyone is gathering for the wedding of Gordo and Edna along with a craft fair/zombie event that brings strange characters into Threadville. All our storekeepers are offering their extra rooms to various wedding and event guests. The Brianna character was so irritating, rude, nasty that I hardly could stand to read the book. The storyline of Willow being browbeaten by her Mother (in S. Carolina) into keeping her as a guest was just ridiculous and made ME think Willow is a wimp. The murder and the connections were pretty weak. If Brianna is in the next book I will make sure I skip it!

Well Willow has done it again and is involved with another murder. With everything else she has to do she has to put up with a boarder that her mother has imposed on her. I guess I had better stop here before I give something away. It is a great read and I recommend the whole series.

This was a fun mystery set in the charming town of Threadville. Good friends, a wedding, and murder! I enjoyed catching up with all of my favorite characters. Willow's relationship with Clay has yet to progess to an actual date. I really hope they can finally get together soon. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the next one.
