This is the last book of a 6 book series. I enjoyed all of them. All 6 books are murder, mystery and romance. They're all written well and it's nice to read a book and not know the suspect until the end. Usually you know within the first few chapters, not this one.

Please Note: This story also appears in the 2018 anthology, SUSPICIOUS MONTANA CHRISTMAS. That title contains books 5-6 in the "Winchester Ranch" series and is a much better value than purchasing them both separately since you get two stories for the price of one...

First off I don't think this book does well as a standalone. The story, including unresolved questions and most of the characters in it, all tie back to the first book in this mini-series and for that reason I'd suggest starting with GUN-SHY BRIDE. I've been reading this entire "Whitehorse, Montana" series in order though and since there are almost always cross-over characters I think I've enjoyed it more than most people will since I am familiar with so many old names and faces whenever they happen to pop up.

This is the first appearance however by our two main characters, TD Waters and Elizabeth Calder. And while I liked Lizzie, TD on the other hand I absolutely loved. I personally think he's one of the most well fleshed and charismatic individuals Ms. Daniels has ever written about. And although the relationship between he and Lizzie definitely moves fast, I felt a connection to and between them so this didn't bother me as much as it usually would. There is one quick sex scene too, but it can easily be skipped over if need be.

I enjoyed the part McCall has played in this series too. She's the heroine from book one who appears in each subsequent book as well, which concludes with her wedding here. I also liked her grandmother Pepper who owns her mistakes and I'm glad could finally find peace, love and happiness in her final years.

There were so many twists and turns in this story that I was quite literally shocked more than once. It was not only fast paced but action packed and a thrilling ride from start to finish. Some people definitely got the comeuppance they so rightfully deserved and I was happy to finally get answers to questions I've had since the first book. Overall it was a truly satisfying and perfect end to the mini-series and while normally I'd have given it four stars, the ending actually brought tears to my eyes so I moved it to five =)

Pages & Kindle Locations: The story ended at 99% on page 219 and location 2933.

This whole series was fantastic. Kept me glued to it. And
the book that ended the series was a whopper of a book.
B.J. Daniels is a great and I mean great writer. If you get
a chance to read her books you will stick with her like a
magnet. She keeps you in suspense in every book. You
think you know the plot but you will be wrong. Daniels
    is that good.

Yay, the series has come to an end. Bitter sweet might I say. I seemed to go through the books fast because I just wanted to know what happened. However you won't find yourself too shocked to find out what happens. All in all the crazy twist and romance leading up to the end will keep you involved in this series. Each book is just the right amount of pages. Not too much to drag on.

I like how they kept McCall in each book. I think she is an important character.

If you you havent figured out the order of the books just go to[..]

There is a list of the order the books go in. I had to use that as reference a few times.

Bought as a last minute stocking filler for my mum . She is 91 and partially sighted , but still an avid reader . This was advertised under the " Large Print " section. When it arrived it actually is not large print but " Larger Print " which isnt quite the same thing. Mum has read and enjoyed the book, but was not completely comfortable and struggled with the size of the print. We smiled at the questions section at the back ......... reminded us of comprehension lessons at school !!
