I enjoyed this book and the buildup. Then I got to the end and gave serious thought to re-reading the last couple of chapters. There had been some decent foreshadowing, but even still, the resolution was really hard to follow. I enjoy this author, though, and wouldn't hesitate to pick up another title.

setting: Houston, Texas.
Players: Cassie Beaudreaux - Her innocent deception just about gets her killed. But it brought adventure into her life. And Jack Fury.
Jack Fury - A former cop turned P.I. he is intranced with the glamouous actress, Celeste Fortune - and is eager to meet her.
Celeste Fortune - has gained notoriety since having an affair with a married man, Owen Fleming - and his giving her a 3 million dollor pink diamond ring.

Max Tripp - he is now Jack's boss, well a guy has to eat doesn't he? Does Max have an ulterior motive in putting Jack on Celeste's case?

Cassie is set up at the Mirabelle Hotel with the chihauhau, Mr. Bogart where she meets Evelyn Ambrose-Pritchard, another one with secrets.

Ethan Gold is an old friend of Celeste and has loaned his boat and house to "Celeste" Cassie which blows up. That was a close one but it enables Jack to save her.

Margo Fleming who is not going to let her husband flaunt his mistress, Celeste around and get away with it.

Danny Cantrell - Oh did I forget to mention the Cassie left him at the altar and he is furious - he wants her back.

Never did solve Jack's case - Is the guy still in prison?

An excellent read but not enough dangerous danger. The characters are neat expecially Mr. Bogart [or Sam as the case may be]grin.

Will recommend -m - enjoy!
