Evelyn Panelli is of Italian, black, and Irish descent, with red hair and blue-green eyes and with the demeanor of a boy. She has lived a rough life in the streets as a member of the all-girl family, Twenty-Gang. At 17 she is sentenced to a jail term of no less than 18 months but no longer than two years in a juvenile detention center. Upon release, Eve quickly resumes her criminal lifestyle as a strong-arm robber. She also comes home to discover that her former partners, Felon and Butter, are now kings of the street. She and Felon have always had an attraction to one another but have maintained a business relationship. The DeNardises, a powerful Italian family, want to do more business in Harlem, but the son, Carlos, hates doing business with Butter and goes after his girl, Cassidy. The stakes are raised when Butter learns that Cassidy and Carlos have been dealing with one another. The conflict escalates, which forces Eve to single-handedly seek revenge for her family. The intertwined storylines and characters are legendary and far more intriguing than the average. You can get engulfed in the world that’s being described and not wanting to miss a minute of it. This unforgettable story started for me in 2012 but handy finished until today in 2023. It was story a couldn’t ever put out of mind and couldn’t put to rest until it was finished. No matter my setbacks, it was well worth the wait and getting back to. I strongly recommend. As well as, others I’ve read by the author... Best of luck to the author K’wan and many more accolades and awards. You never disappoint.

I regret taking so long to read it, it's one of the best books I'ver ever read. Don't let the summary fool you because it is so much more to the story so much better then what u would expect from reading the author's summary of the book! All I can say is that if I was going through anythng like this I would want to be this female because I feel like i connected with her and understood her reasoning for everthing. Great book.....a MUST read!

Kwan did it again...great story sad but sweet ending...I wish there was more of a fairy tale ending to this book but it is s lot more realistic without it...if already ready the latter published books b by Kwan and to see characters history I went back and I really enjoyed how this author brings characters from one story to another and build a completely didn't story from what you already know...it acquaints you to these characters as if they're real and you actually know them....the build up to the plot in this story was of the chain thumbs up kwan

Love how intricately he flows in and out between the players in this hood novel and brings their insecurities and demons to light, all to come to a compelling ending.
