Review

"With a true appreciation of the Highlands, history and clansmen, Brisbin brings readers back to the wilds in a captive/captor romance which will delight Scottish romance fans who enjoy good repartee and a quick pace. Pleasant with few surprises and a classic plot, the well-crafted love story is what Brisbin does best." -- RT Bookclub

What a fantastic addition to the MacLerie series. This was one of my favorite of this series. The characters were engaging and true to their pain and repressed passions. I felt for their circumstances and wanted them to find a way through all of the lies and deceptions. The storyline was well written and added some suspenseful moments. I also enjoyed the glimpses from previous characters of the other books. Well written and highly recommended. I look forward to the next book which hopefully will feature Rurik's daughter as the next matchmaking victim.

Summary:

To regain control of his fractured clan Robert Matheson must take Lilidh MacLerie hostage as a bargaining tool. But Lilidh is no ordinary captive. She's the woman he once loved--and rejected!

Rob's touch is etched permanently into her memory and, unaware that he was forced to repudiate their love, Lilidh has never forgotten the man who broke her heart all those years ago. Now, looking into the eyes of her captor, she no longer recognizes this fearsome leader. She should be afraid--there's no telling what he will do. But something about him excites and unnerves her in equal measure.

At the Highlander's Mercy is book 6 in the Maclerie Clan series and upholds the quality Terri Brisbin's audience has come to expect from her work. The story of Rob and Lilidh is a highland kidnap scenario but resonates with it's own distinctive delivery. What really struck me in addition to a quality book filled with passion, intrigue and interesting characters is the authors ability to continue the story of central characters from previous books and yet not detract from the focus of the story at hand. Nice continuance of a well crafted series!

I thoroughly enjoy reading Terri Brisbin's novels and I have all of them. She delivers what her fans want and that makes her a terrific writer. Also looking for her latest!

The story itself was fine but too many errors. Too much use of 20th centry vernacular in something set in ancient times. No real attempt at authentic Scots dialect. It jarred.

The story of Rob and Lilidh is one of pride, honor and courage. The Laird that Rob fosters under has taught him well, perhaps too well. Lucky for him his crazy cousins throw a bit of a monkey wrench into his plans an Lilidh returns to his life to knock some sense into him. I enjoyed this story.

Uma estória deveras estimulante, que fez com que muitas vezes eu tivesse raiva do herói e outras pena e raiva do pai da heroína. Para acabar adorando a todos e a tudo.
