a worthy upgrade
UPDATE i.e. missing NIBS in box: I'm an idiot. they're NOT missing. in fact, they're SO CLEVERLY packaged I'm freaking out. wacom has so brilliantly packaged the nibs to fit INSIDE the pen holder. you just unscrew the bottom of the holder and WHOA..theyre all beautifully placed inside. will update with a photo...! A+++++ no longer do i have to look all over for my nibs again. wow so good.-----------coming from a user since the first tablet introduced by the Intuos line, i was almost ready to bite and buy Wacom Intuos4 Large Pen Tablet as my upgrade from Wacom Intuos3 9 x 12-Inch USB Tablet--Metallic Gray a few months ago. my pen at home had broken when it accidentally flew out of my hand and i was stuck with the mouse...a foreign object to me in my line of work. suffice to say, time flew...and i was ready to upgrade to the 4. i went to the wacom site and saw the 5..which looked just like the 4 so i was a bit confused until i realized it had just been released a few weeks ago. i mean, they looked the same...until i read a little further abt the product. THIS ONE had hand touch elements on the tablet and i was like OK....cool. i bought it, got the next day shipping and here it is.ITS GORGEOUS. first and foremost, it feels awesome. the rubbery coating is just perfect. the pen and the tablet feel just right. it has lit up arrows around the active area..looks cool! love it. the HUD element on the left is also pretty cool and something ill def use...something i NEVER used in Intuous 1, 2 and 3. your eyes never have to leave the screen to see what you're doing. its a touch and show element on the screen. +1.but then i tried the tablet WITHOUT the pen. I can't tell you how AWESOME this feature is. not only do i never have to deal with someone coming up to me, and trying to show me something on my screen and then trying to navigate with a pen that fumbles in their hand cause they have no idea how to use it.. they can now just use the tablet with their finger instead. THIS IS HUGE. its absolutely awesome. not only that.. but i don't have to forego the cool OS X movements only able to be done with the mouse or the magic tablet. swipe, wipe, easy undos...SO perfect.a little pricey for sure. but i can't imagine using anything else. so far, no problems..no hand gesture driver problems. its an A+ for me.i noticed my box did not include the following: 10 replacement nibs (five standard nibs, one flex nib, one stroke nib, and three hard felt nibs), nib removal tool. i will contact amazon abt this? weird.
