Fantasically smooth and sturdy reel. I don't do a ton of fishing, so I will probably never approach a durability issue over time with this, but I am definitely happy I chose this reel. I got the 3000, which it looks like will be good for pretty much any fresh water fish I catch.

This reel was advertised as having a "full metal body" I used my knife and cut a tiny piece up inside the rod mount. I also used an ohmmeter and checked between the side screws and there is no continuity. I do not believe it has a metal body unless graphite is a metal. Other than that, it operates flawlessly. My other issues are the spool holds a huge amount of line, O.K. if you're bait fishing in 100 feet of water, and the teardrop handle is a bit odd.
I'd buy another except I only buy metal bodied reels for durability.

4 stars only because i have not put it to test yet.I bought the 3000 model, which btw will spool up 327yds of kastking 10lb braid perfectly. Due to some reports I've read on internal corrosion I completely disassembled the reel on arrival and regreased with a good marine grease.(i fish brackish waters along Chesapeake bay)I was unable to locate a parts diagram (schematic) anywhere and one does not come with the reel. I got several reels this year, other than my Penn Battle which is 3x the cost I feel this reel will be the best of the bunch.I do not care for the handles knob,tear drop shape, I prefer the thumb rest style( manufactures should provide that option) Its on a 7' med/heavy gx2 ugly stick.....waiting for spring............

Synopsis: I bought this reel with the intent of replacing my trusty (and heavy) Penn SSV3500 on my travel rod. Wanted something cheap I could afford to lose but keep up. After reading the reviews, believing it's saltwater rating, and of course basement level price, I bought a WQ3000 asap. Out of the box? Impressive. From the outside, fit and finish were great, tolerances were tight, just 'felt' good. On the inside, spun amazingly smooth with zero back-play, zero wobble, and zero flex. And that's where the magic stopped. I put about 10 hours into the reel in conditions my $40 Penn Fierce II 3000 usually excels in; light tackle surf fishing on the NorCal coast. 1 oz carolina rigs, 2 oz hi-lo rigs, the works. Got it splashed a few times, never dunked. After 10 hours, it completely failed: the anti-reserve switch stuck and was rendered useless, drag got sticky, the handle axis ovalized the main gear, and rust crept it's way onto unprotected metals. For a reel with 'saltwater' in it's description, I'm very surprised it bombed so quickly. Yes this a $27 reel, but my salted shimano IX and cheap daiwas are still running 10 years later, so why not this. Knowing what I know, I doubt it'll give you a full season in freshwater if you fish it as hard as your name brand gear. Mine's currently at a recycling facility somewhere, consider it a sacrificial lamb that helped save you $27.

Full disclosure: I made a review of this reel that surprisingly took off (currently 40k views) and probably padded my associate account a bit, so consider the follow-up teardown vid and this verified amazon review penance for anyone I might have unintentionally led astray.

This is the smoothest reel I have ever used. Everything about this reel is perfect.
A small problem has developed, but help from the seller was good. The small collar inside the reel well lock up unless you use reel lube regularly . I even use emery cloth on the out side of the collar and that helped a lot.
Would I still recommend this reel. Yes.
