The Sea Eagle SE370 Inflatable Sports Kayak Deluxe Package - Lightweight, Portable, Stable Durable and Affordable!

The Sea Eagle SE370 Inflatable Kayak

About the Sea Eagle 370 Inflatable Kayak:

This affordable inflatable Sport Kayak is as lightweight and portable as it gets, yet still remarkably stable and durable. It weighs just 32 lbs. and packs down small enough to fit in the smallest car trunk. Don't let the light weight fool you. It's a rugged kayak rated to hold 3 people or 650 lbs. However, it's best-suited space wise to accommodate two persons.

Unique proprietary 38mil Polykrylar K80 PVC formulation is made for years of faithful durability and service. Comfortable SEC seats provide good back support from its large rear air chamber. 5 Tube I-beam construction floor provides greater structural strength and allows faster paddling and higher weight capacity.

Rope lacing to hold spray skirts in place, provide multiple tie-down points and front and stern carry handles. Convenient drain valve at stern to easily drain out rain water if left outside overnight.

We began in 1968 selling an inflatable kayak very similar to our present Sea Eagle Sport Kayaks. Since then we have made many improvements in our inflatable kayaks. Today, we offer superior one way valves, thicker hull material and an even better material formulation for greater strength, reliability, and durability on the water.

And best of all our Sea Eagle Sport Kayaks pack to a fraction of their inflatable size, can be carried almost anywhere there is water and set up in less than 10 minutes!

Sea Eagle SE370 Pro Inflatable Kayak - Lightweight, Portable, Stable and Durable ! Check out these great features of the Deluxe Package:

Sea Eagle SEC Inflatable Seat

AB30 Feathering 300:300

All Purpose Carry Bag

SEC Inflatable Kayak Seat

A comfortable seat for any of our kayaks, the SEC has good back support from its large rear air chamber.

  • Inflated measurements: 17" wide x 21" deep x 16" tall
  • Inflated seat base measurements: 17" wide x 12" deep x 1" high
  • Inflated backrest measurements: 17" wide x 13" high x 3" thick
  • Deflated folded measurements: 15" x 12" x 1/2"
  • Weighs: 1.7 lbs.

7'10" (4 Part Paddle)

  • 7'10" Double end asymmetrical blade
  • Aluminum shaft with fiberglass reinforced nylon blades.
  • 65 degree feather capability
  • Snap lock buttons to disconnect into 4 parts
  • Weighs just 2.62 lbs.

Rugged Duffle Carry Bag

Rugged duffle carry bag with strong shoulder strap to hold all - kayak, seats, paddles and foot pump. Made with heavy duty 440 denier nylon fabric. Measures 26"x48". Comes with convenient carry strap and drawstring.

More Standard Features of the Sea Eagle SE370 Inflatable Sports Kayaks

Deluxe One-way Valves on all Air compartments

Rear Skeg for better tracking

5 Tube-I_Beam-Floor

Deluxe One-way Valves On All Air Compartments

These Deluxe One-way Valves are simple and easy to use. A great improvement over traditional pipe valves which are hard to close, loose air easily and crack over time. Our Deluxe Valves come with an inner diaphragm which allows air to be pumped in without air escaping afterwards. The larger opening of the Deluxe Valves allows for rapid inflation and deflation. Comes with molded O-rings that can't be lost and a tether that will keep them attached to the hull at all times. Final seal is achieved by the outside cap for true air tightness.

Molded Skegs for Better Tracking

Unbreakable molded skegs improve tracking and will not fall off or get damaged when hit by rocks or get lost.

Tracking is very important in a kayak. Inflatable kayaks need skegs to track smoothly across the water - otherwise your paddling effort is wasted. Cheaper competitive boats without rear skegs just weave and wander across the water, wasting your paddling effort.

5 Tube I-Beam Floor Construction

5 Tube I-beam construction floor provides greater structural strength and allows faster paddling and higher weight capacity

Because larger I-beam tubes have more rigidity than smaller tubes it also created a more rigid inflatable floor with natural chines which improve the speed and tracking of our Sport Kayaks, making it easier to paddle long distances whenever you wish.

A42 Foot Pump

Kayak Carrybag

SE330 and SE370 Air Chambers

Easy to Inflate: A42 Larger Bellows Pump

A high capacity foot pump made of durable ABS plastic that packs down for easy travel. Comes with a set of adapters.

Lightweight and Portable

Sea Eagle Sport Kayaks pack to a fraction of their inflatable size, can be carried almost anywhere there is water and set up in less than 10 minutes!

Safe with 3 Separate Independent Safety Air Chambers

3 Separate Independent Safety Air Chambers for added safety: Starboard Side, Floor, and Portside. Providing an added level of security and peace of mind.

Overall, this is great. It's so cheap that if something happened to it, I wouldn't be that upset about it, but it's tough enough that I don't expect to have any issues with it.Comparing to sit-on-top tandem hard kayaks also sold on Amazon:Sea Eagle 370 inflatable kayak is $250, 12.5' long, holds 650 pounds, weighs 32 pounds, has two skegs, can move a seat to the middle for one person, and comes with two paddles (about a $70 value).Perception Rambler hard kayak is $700, 13.5' long, holds 550 pounds, weighs 78 pounds, doesn't have any skegs, the seats don't move, and doesn't come with paddles.Ocean Kayak Malibu hard kayak is $663, 12' long, holds 375 pounds, weighs 57 pounds, doesn't have any skegs, the seats don't move, and doesn't come with paddles. So looking at the basic metrics, this kayak is superior. If you want to say that this kayak is not as tough as the hard kayaks, then you can look at Sea Eagle's whitewater kayaks. Remember, all professional whitewater tours use inflatable rafts, so just because it's inflatable doesn't mean it's not tough. The Sea Eagle 380x inflatable kayak is $950, 12.5' long, holds 750 pounds, weighs 40 pounds, and comes with two paddles. So more expensive, but still much lighter and can hold more.So let's review this Sea Eagle 370 kayak in depth.1. Portability: Throwing this in the back of your vehicle is way easier than hoisting it on top. In addition, you don't have to have roof racks, either permanently installed or strapped pads. You don't have to worry about getting a hit on your MPG because it's on top, you don't have to worry about it getting stolen because you left it on top of your vehicle in the hotel parking lot, you don't have to worry about it not being strapped down properly and coming off, and you don't have to worry about damaging it pulling into a garage because you forgot it was up there. If you do want to inflate it at home and transport it on top, you can still transport it on top.2. Inflating: Super quick and easy. You're talking about a couple of pounds of pressure, unlike your bicycle tires. The foot pump works great, and you can also get a pump that plugs into a wall outlet or your vehicle's 12V outlet. I'm not talking about a pump for your vehicle's tires; I'm talking about something that pumps up pool toys, with a pump hose about an inch wide or so.3. Storage: Take a towel and wipe it down, deflate it, and put it in the provided storage bag. The bag is big enough so it's not difficult to use, and comes with a shoulder strap to carry it around. The kayak is bulky enough so it's not really easy to carry it around, but it's not a big deal.4. Tracking: the longer the kayak, and if it has a skeg/fin underneath, the better it stays in a straight line. This 370 has two skegs, and tracks pretty well. The skegs are not removable (unlike Sea Eagle's Class IV kayaks). They seem pretty sturdy, however, so I wouldn't worry about them in whitewater. The instructions talk about how to heat them and bend them straight if they get bent. I was surprised how quick and straight this kayak was, maybe because my expectations were so low.5. Seats. Yeah, I'm not crazy about the seats, which Sea Eagle calls "deluxe". I let out some of the air in the seats, and that seemed to help. If you want different seats, like the ones that hook onto D rings, there are no D rings on this kayak. Which also means that if you flip this kayak, there's a chance that the seats will come out. The back isn't very high, which means the back of my life jacket is always wanting to ride over the top of the seats.6. Width. This is a thin kayak, 15" wide, with high sides. This is good for keeping water out and balance, but if you have a life jacket that has pads all the way around your waist, you may want to get a life jacket that just has the inflatable stuff in the front and back, as the sides of the kayak were pushing on the sides of my life jacket.7. Foot wells. There are no foot wells, like with a hard kayak. I don't think that's an issue, as I'm used to getting all gnarly in a canoe, and that doesn't have foot wells. And whitewater rafts don't have foot wells. My hard kayak is short, and my knees get in the way of my paddle using the foot wells, so I don't think of this as a big loss.8. Looks. I'm not crazy about how it looks, as it looks wimpier than it is. Maybe if it was another color or something. The rope dressings at the ends are nice for carrying it.9. Length. It may be 12.5' long, but the interior is only 10'8" long. Two people are tight, especially if you're storing stuff. If I was ever going to upgrade to their Class IV kayaks, I'd get the 420x, which is 14' long.10. Paddles. I think they work well. 3.0 pounds each, and lighter carbon fiber ones are 2.5 pounds. I've never used carbon fiber before.11. Handles. Can use the ropes up front, but there are no handles on the side. Would have made carrying it easier. Meh.I paid $285 in early August, and as of early September, it's gone down to $250, so I guess I should have waited for the season to end. Make sure you think you'll like it, because you can't return it, unless it's torn or something. The picture shows a yellow 8.3' kayak underneath it.

We bought this to use in the summertime at our cottage on a small lake. It’s large enough to hold 3 people but the third person sits on the bottom between the two other people that have seats with backs. The seats are inflatable but not very comfortable, a little moveable so we took the backs off. The material is a strong durable hard material and is blown up by a foot pump, which was easy for me to do. The boat is heavy and does take two people to carry it. We left it outside all night so we did not need to deflate it. When we did deflate it, it was easy. It comes with a bag for storage, for space saving. I was not able to get it back to its original size so I just folded it up and stored it. It is heavy once folded so I needed my husband to carry it for me. It does come with 2 oars that work great and are lightweight but sturdy. At a reasonable price, easy to put together, very strong durable material; this is a great family boat that we are using to create family memories.

We just got this yesterday and of course, we pumped it up in the living room to test it. It was a little tedious to figure out what went where because we didn't know what we were doing but we just kept looking at the directions. It was much bigger and more comfortable than we expected. In the house it looked positively skinny where you have to put your butt, but when you sit it in it kind of comforms to your shape. I am not "little".. I am about 5'1" and 170 pounds and I was fine. I also put my 2 kids in with me... one weighs 105 the other 67 pounds. There is a little overlapping of feet, but not too cramped. I was very impressed with the thickness of the material it is made of and the workmanship. It was much bigger and nicer than I expected. So today we took it to the lake for a test. Now that we knew what to do my 9 year old basically set it up and pumped it up in about 8 minutes by herself. My husband (5'10" 170 pounds) and the above mentioned 2 kids (342 pound total) took it out. What a hoot! I honestly kind of expected it to tip or sink and then have to pack it up and send it back to Amazon, but WOW!... it was amazing. It tracked straight and went pretty fast... although the lake was very calm when we were there. We have only been kayaking twice (and that was only for an hour each time), so we are not experts but my husband said it felt no different than the hardsided kayak he had used before. If there were a wind I guess it would have been harder, but he was amazed at the performance. I think the double skegs on the bottom really help, because other brands that don't have the skegs seem to have alot of poor performance reviews, but that is just my opinion. Then my husband let my kids do it alone (just the 2 of them) and they did great! They didn't go far, but they were able to handle it and maneuver it well.
It was a little bit of a pain to try to dry it off enough (we went late in the day so we couldn't let it air dry), and you have to get into the nooks and crannies.. but we did what we could and when we got home we pumped it up in the basement near the dehumidifier so hopefully it will finish drying it off.
Once you know what you are doing, it only takes a few minutes to pump it up.
I did alot of research before I made this purchase, and it seemed that this was the best for the money... and I am very happy. I actually was thinking of the Sea Eagle 330 and was about to buy it when I checked the prices and the 370 was actually $25 less than the 330 that day (and $75-125 less than the 370 had been a few days before). Now I see the price has gone up again, but keep checking as the price seems to fluctuate. (I actually paid $224 for the 370 about a week ago)
So if the convenience of not having to cart it, store it, carry it, like a hard sided one (not to mention paying more) appeals to you... give it a try... I was more than pleasantly surprised.
And thank you to all the other reviewers that helped me make this decision!

9/2/12 We took it out again to the same lake and had even more fun with it. My husband and the 2 kids decided to try to get to the other side of the lake. It had taken about 25 minutes in the hard sided kayak, so I waited about 5 or 6 minutes before I got in the car and went to meet them on the other side of the lake. I couldn't see them so I prepared to sit and wait in the car. Next thing I knew my kids were knocking on the window of the car... THEY HAD MADE IT BEFORE ME! My husband said it seemed to move quicker than the hard sided one he had used before. Also we had people watching us pump it up. One person came to talk to us about it and said he was going to get one based on what he saw with ours and the fact that even the kids could handle it. Still really happy with the purchase. BUT, although the bag is big, it is heavy and the kayak and pump, etc do add up to more weight than I want to handle... so I am getting a tub with wheels on it so I can drag it to the water easier.

8/24/13 Still Happy!~ Working great! No problems! I am not that strong, so I bought a garbage can on wheels to store it in. I can pull it out of the van and wheel it to the lake. Dry it when done and wheel it to the car and into the storage area at home. No problems, no mold, still good as new! BTW, drying it is much easier IF you dump the water out of the self bailing plug in the end (which I just noticed! Duh!)

I've had this boat for a bit over one month and been out three times with my wife. Overall, I love this boat, but would not get rid of my hard-shell kayak for it.

I've had a hard shell 10.5 foot "fishing" kayak for several years now, plus paddled on several types of rented yaks, and was looking to buy a tandem seat kayak to get my wife out with me. Storage was a concern as my hard shell already takes up a lot of garage space, and I didn't want to get a boat that we would only use a couple of time a year. Loading a 12 foot+ tandem kayak on top of my SUV and getting it the ten+ miles to/from the water was also a concern. An inflatable seemed like the perfect solution, especially one that allowed me to reconfigure the seats to use as both a single-person and tandem boat.

First up; this is a solid and well-made boat, easily comparing to any commercial-grade inflatable boat I've been around. Having an inflation gauge to get proper pressure on the side tubes takes a lot of worry out of properly inflating this boat. After three tries, my wife and I can set it up in about 30 minutes. Take down is a little faster only because I just throw everything into the back of our SUV loose, knowing I'm going to be cleaning everything once I get home anyway. The foot pump is excellent, and I see no reason to use an electric pump. I did try inflating the boat with a little Coleman pump that I have for an inflatable mattress and water toys, but the pump doesn't have the "omph" to blow up something with as much volume as this boat. Having a drain plug at the stern and a tow point on the bow are nice touches, and show that this boat is well thought out.

For handling, I'm comparing the Sea Eagle to a hard shell sit-inside kayak. Between the inflatable floor and thick inflatable seat cushions, the Sea Eagle feels more like a canoe than a kayak because of the higher center-of-gravity. In waves, the body flexes as opposed to the waves breaking over the kayak, and the flexing takes a bit of getting used to. The dual skegs do help the boat track, but the boat still feels "skittish" and tends to slide sideways with winds much easier than the hard shells I've paddled. I can see that any inflatable without the skegs would have extremely poor performance. It's possible that the shorter 330 might handle a little better.

The storage bag is plenty large for all the parts and accessories This boat in the storage bag is a bit too heavy and too awkward in size to reasonably pack as air travel luggage, but is small enough to pack into just about any sized car (even one of the so-called "Smart Cars"). I also don't see anyone packing it on their back up the side of a mountain to get to that hidden lake, but I suppose it could be done. The smaller, lighter, 330 might be more suitable for airline and backpack travel.

The paddles are long, but they do tend to brush against the sides of the boat and I have to use more of an angle to get them into the water than with hard shells. The paddles come apart in four pieces which makes storage easy, but the paddle ends tend to "rattle" a bit in the rod while paddling, which is a little disconcerting to me.

The seats (Pro Package) are reasonably comfortable, but I've only used this boat for short trips of a bit over one hour at a time so don't know how I'd feel after several hours paddling. I do miss not have foot pedals to rest my feet against while paddling, and my (middle) seat seems to move backwards slightly while paddling. The rear seat is pushed all the way against the back of the tubes, so seat movement is not a problem. I do like being able to reconfigure the seats. I've used this boat for two people, taken out one seat and positioned the other seat for one-person paddling, and even pulled the kayak up on a secluded beach, taken out our gear and both seats then used the boat for a two-person air mattress and nap.

I was really concerned about having a boat comfortably large enough for two people, and spent a lot of time posting questions on these review pages. I ended up with the 370 vice 330 so I;d have the extra room and honestly, the 370 is almost too large for us. I'm 5'10", and wife is 4'11-1/2", and this boat is very roomy for us. We probably would have been better off with the 330, but as one person posted; If I used this boat solo I'd have a lot more room to hold my gear. Larger people would probably want this larger size boat for tandem use.

A few small quibbles with this boat:

- The manufacturer provides an inflation gauge for the side tubes, but not one for the floor. Having an inflation gauge for the floor would be nice.

- The blue dye from the webbing on the seats bleeds onto the PVC when the webbing gets wet. I now have a couple of blue dye marks on the nice white hull, which annoys me. I'm hoping the bleed-over problem goes away once the webbing gets wet a few times.

- The pockets on the back of the seats could have been a little larger, given that this is the only storage built into the boat. It would also be nice to have a side pocket provided in the storage bag for small items.

A couple of tips for people who have read my review this far:

- Get some silicon grease and put a light coat on the rubber seals of the inflation valves. This will make it much easier to screw the valves tightly closed. You don't need much lube; a two ounce container should last a long time. (Don't use Vaseline as it might damage the rubber).

- Don't trust the paddle floats that come with the Pro Package. If you drop a paddle in the water it will float, but may float away and get out of your reach. Use proper paddle lanyards hooked to your PFD.

it is fantastic. I am blown away with how stable and great this is. My wife and I have been out fishing, and exploring in this. Due to the light weight and profile, it is not great n heavy winds but otherwise a very nice boat that is easy to set up and take anywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente kayak para la familia

Very well made, tracks straight, comfortable, light and easy to inflate/deflate. Worth the money as it is high quality along with the seats and paddles. Theres lots of room for 2 or 3 people or 2 people and a lot of camping / travel gear etc..This would be a good kayak to go on a weekend or longer adventure. It is so easy and fast if you have to deflate it and put it in your vehicle and inflate it somewhere else. No tieing it to the roof and worrying if it is tied down securely etc.. Lots of room in the kayak for 2 taller people or for fishing etc..I love to go out on the water stretch out laydown and just let it float with the waves. Sometimes i'll go out 30 feet and tie it to a tree on shore and pass out for hours enjoying the warm sunshine and breeze off the water.
I definitely would buy one again or another Sea Eagle product !
