The turntable classic with carbon tonearm and DC power supply!
The first Debut turntable, introduced in the late 1990s, was a revolution for the hi-fi industry. The new Debut Carbon DC was designed to set new standards in this category for the coming decade – as perfectly timed as analogue is today, it’s again a respected source, while the demand for good turntables is growing again!
The most obvious improvement is the inclusion of a Carbon tube for the tonearm, which increases stiffness and decreases unwanted resonance. Together with other improvements like an increase in platter size and weight to realize even smoother rotation, the overall sound quality is greatly improved. The approved belt drive design offers a low noise AC motor with effective motor decoupling (utilising TPE-damping) and ultra precision frequency DC-driven AC generator (like the Speed Box) for ultimate speed stability without unwanted vibration.
The DEBUT CARBON DC is offered in high-gloss black, shiny red, green, blue, yellow, silver, purple, white or as walnut mat.
Premium Cartridge included
Pre-installed Ortofon 2M Red for audiophile vinyl enjoyment
Stunning carbon fibre arm
An 8.6" one-piece carbon fibre tonearm, adding stiffness and reducing resonance around the pick-up cartridge

Cue the Pro-Ject - Debut Carbon DC meet-cute. I am not one of these crazy audiophiles you will read reviews from on here, but I am a long-time amateur musician with a great love of music. Aside from not knowing this turntable requires a pre-amp (Yes, go ahead and laugh. But they're built into cheaper models like that Pioneer and I'm a novice), and ruining the anti-skate weight (you don't need it that much) this has been a fantastic experience for me. Combined with a Pro-ject preamp, a JVC digital reciever from 2003, two Sony tower speakers and a Yamaha 12 inch sub (parts of my surround) I am presented with as high of a quality sound as I desire or need. It's sweet, crisp, solid on the low, middle and high, great for jazz or punk or metal and is going to please anyone but douchebags who wear fedora's and talk about how much better tube amps sound (they sound different, not better. . . that difference is analog distortion adding "warmth" which I love with a Gibson guitar but doesn't matter for a good album unless it's poorly produced and you want to give it the Vasoline on the camera lense treatment) or audiophiles that think cables make a huge difference or they can hear the difference in 24 bit vs 32 bit. I'm sure there are better out there, but the cost per utility unit is as high as it gets on this product and it's doubtful your ears could tell the difference.
I thought well this is expensive...then I did a 1982 $ to 2019 $ for the Technics unit I bought back in high school, well. THIS IS A BARGAIN!!!!! What I paid for the Technics is roughly 550 in today's dollars.
Everything about this turntable is a significant upgrade over the Technics.
Sound, looks, lowered wear on the vinyl...the only issue is convenience. I knew going in, and I used to have a totally manual Technics back in the day. Setting up the tone-arm, getting up to move the tone-arm off the record, etc. For a true audiophile, that's part of the fun. But some folks that might be too much, so be prepared. If you like hitting a button and walking away for an hour, nope. NOT for you. There are other more convenient turntable options for you.
I would give ten stars if I could. The cartridge is high quality unit and the tone-arm is top shelf.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY Recommend.

Thing that eventually clinched it was the Ortofon 2M stylus.
Right , we have Analogue sound transferred to digital, surely that defeats the object of vynl. Pre amp to think about. Same process led me to the Fosi Audio MM valve pre amp. Finally through the Denon RCDM41dab to a pair of Wharfedale diamond 9.1.
Not having listened to vynl for over twenty years, dug out from the garage first to hand was Queen, Night at the Opera, quick clean and on it went. Took a step back and waited,
Big smile.... that's nice, turned up a bit, bit more. Think I've made the right choice. Not that I've tried the others , adjust the counter weight bringing fully to life . Initial setup was painless even for me . Well made , decent platter ,heavy & well balanced with also a slip mat included, if this price range is this quality what on earth are the top end ranges like.
Carbon fibre arm is virtually weightless & looks fantastic, motor is silent as in no audible hum , time will tell on that one. Looks are stylish & look well with the others. Project did a really good job with this not only for price but build quality. More than pleased with my purchase, definitely recommend.
