Customers are not happy with the flexibility of the electronic wire. They mention that it's stiff, hard to work with, and feels like stiff coaxial cable. The cables are thick and not too flexible, making it difficult to bend around corners. However, it' s so tightly wound in the spool that it becomes a possessed monster when it''s unwound.

I actually prefer this cable for inside jobs as well, due to the incredible durability that comes with the extra shielding. It holds up to dragging across semi-sharp surfaces pretty well (like rough conduit ends). This also includes the plastic core for twist retention, as well as a fine nylon pull string that helps relieve tension off the actual copper.
Remember that the maximum cable length for Gigabit networks is 100 meters (328 feet). If you need to go longer than that, you'll need to put an inline repeater or switch for each 100m leg. (I usually just install an Ethernet switch, which are pretty cheap.) If you need a super long range pull (up to about a mile), look for a VDSL2 Ethernet Extender, which are also available here at Amazon. These usually max out at 100Mbps fast Ethernet though. If you're pulling cable for a 10G base T connection (10,000Mbps), the maximum distance is 55 meters.
The TIA/EIA spec pull tension (how hard you can yank the wire) is 25 foot pounds. In practice that's probably harder than you'll actually want to pull, since this wire has a slight tendency to knot up around obstacles . My biggest concern is usually not kinking the cable; but I also usually pull alone. Having a second set of hands would help that problem a lot. Also, this cable is about 1/4" in diameter, so considerably fatter than other cat5 cable. I use a foot long 3/8" drill bit for most entry/exit holes, and it works great.
This wire is NOT shielded (UTP, unsheilded twisted pair), so you want to be careful running it along power wires, florescent lights, and the like especially on long runs. If you need to put this in a cable tray, conduit, or trench alongside a power line, look for STP or FTP cable. Dripstone has a 1000 ft spool of direct bury FTP (foiled twisted pair) available here on Amazon for another $50 or so which would be my choice for that. Dripstone 1000ft CAT6 Bare Copper FTP (Foiled Twisted Pair) Direct Burial Solid Ethernet Cable 23AWG CMX Outdoor Waterproof Wire HDPE insulated Polyethylene FTP isn't as good as STP though (Shielded Twisted Pair), which has each of the 4 pairs shielded individually, which helps prevent crosstalk. Check pictures of the individual cables if you can though, because often STP is used interchangeably with FTP by manufacturers.
This comes on a spool--if you want it to feed easily, stick the spool on a broom handle suspended between two chairs, or even across the open cardboard box (might have to use a little tape to keep it in place). If you're in a pinch without a broom, just flip the spool on it's side in the box and pull up. Personally, I'm a big fan of spools instead of easy-pull boxes, because the cable NEVER tangles on a spool like it sometimes does in the boxes.
To me, this VIVO 1000 cable spool is the sweet spot. I know I can use it for any job I need (indoor or outdoor), and it will work great and pull easy. New Full Copper 1,000 ft Cat6 Ethernet Cable / Wire 1,000ft Cat-6 Waterproof Outdoor / Direct Burial / Underground ~ by VIVO (CABLE-V010)
Used it for a 350' run, basically a giant patch cable to extend my network to a 2nd router. Lightning fast at the other end!.
Ran the length out and expected to bury it an inch or so down, no pvc, conduit, etc... just the cable pushed under with your fingers.
I probably should stagger some earth grounds along there incase lightning would be of issue, but it's surprisingly good cable.
One nice thing about this cable being thick and sturdy is it facilitates easy burial. One person works a flat shovel to split the ground, then leans the shovel back to create a 'V". With the shovel still in the ground, you can just push the cable into the bottom of the "V", then slid the shovel out. Took my wife and I maybe 45 minutes to dig the 150' trench and bury the cable - it would have been quicker except for the challenge of cutting through/digging under the roots of a 100 year old maple.
I ran this cable through emt conduit underground for 140 ft. I suggest lubing the cables up with a heavy oil or even grease prior to pulling the cable if you are going to pull 2 cables through 1/2" emt conduit, otherwise use 3/4", you will have much less of a struggle than i. (I got my 50yr old neighbor to help me feed the cable with him pushing me the line while i pull it from the other end.
Good cable, i have had no issues with it.
Top reviews from other countries
Pros: weather proof, waterproof, solid copper, easily achieves gigabit speeds, no problems with poe.
Cons: the nuts holding the central rods of roll came off, because the nuts were not locking, and the metal rod was too small. It was a pain to put back together.
The orange pair, and brown pair were next to each other instead of opposite to each other. This made it harder to make the ends as the central plastic divider came in the way when the green pair had to be pulled over it.
Overall the best and lowest price ca6t outdoor wire.
Tips: rj45 cable needs a switch or amplifier after 300 feet, you cannot used the single full length cable as 1000 feet is too long.
This wire is thicker (23 AWG) than most ethernet wires, and may not fit some ends. I used CableCreation 100-PACK Cat 6A RJ45 Modular Plug (three-piece suit).
You may need a plier to straighten the individual pairs before inserting into the end.
This product is regular old gray ethernet that has been overmoulded with a heavy coating of black plastic. You can even see this when you strip the cable to crimp ends. You have to strip it twice. This provides a very thick and robust jacket, however it is only waterproof so long as the outer jacket is perfectly intact, unlike silicone filled cable which is somewhat self-sealing.
If regular ethernet with an extra layer of plastic is good enough for your application, then purchase this cable. If you need proper silicone filled cable, this is not for you.
Exactly as described, the quality is great and the price was perfect. Can't ask for anything else from ethernet cable! Highly recommended.
