TL:DR - Anker is kind of a fantastic brand. You get exactly what's promised and the quality of their products is super.Reading the reviews I find that a lot of people complain about slow charge time or about it not appearantly the capacity it states. I haven't had this issues with my battery.I took some time to see how many times I could charge my phone and it fell just about on the mark. It wasn't done with proper instruments. I simply let my phone with a 5,000 mAh battery get close to 2% and the I would charge it all the way up. I got about 4 full charges until the battery stopped charging my phone. Ended at 93% which to me already is on the money but even still, there was a night I just left my phone charging as I slept so it definitely got more than it's fill. There's also complaints about charging the battery itself and again, I didn't find this problem with mine. I timed how long it took to fully charge and it was actually a bit shorter than the stated time. Just about 5:30 hours. I didn't even need an anker branded charger. I used this 18W charger I used already to charge my phone. People might be forgetting just how massive 20,000 mAh is.Charging my phone was also just as expected. It charged it fully just as if it was plugged to the 18W charger which is to be expected but you know... I kind of still didn't cause it's a portable battery.Overall, Anker is kind of my go to for when it comes to electrical devices. I don't see them cutting corners to get there products out and for that I trust their brand. I feel like my devices won't suddenly burn out cause of bad components or that the hubs won't provided the performance promised. Idk, you should definitely give then a try

I purchased this power bank January 2, 2020. This was my second purchase of an Anker product. I was so impressed with the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 that I decided to get the PowerCore Essential 20000 PD for the kids.
To this day this product works like new. Over the years I have continued to return to Anker for my charging needs. I have purchased 5 Anker charging devices and have been extremely impressed by the quality, durability and longevity of each one.

With other brands you may pay less but with Anker, you get the best.

I purchased this battery in January 2021. I use it regularly and so far it has continued to perform with no issues. I made the move from Ravpower when they disappeared from Amazon, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. It charges flawlessly with my iPhone fast charger, and both ports are working fine to this day.

    Report
Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2020
I was incredibly confused on how the fast charging worked on this charger so let me clear it up now. This battery pack is optimized to work with USB C specific items, that means that both ends of the cord are USB C. If you have a Pixel or Samsung / other Android phone / a Nintendo Switch, then this unit will be ideal for you.

Now, if you have a USB A to USB C / USB A / micro USB / lightning type of cord, it will still work, but it won't charge as quickly. That means if you have an iPhone or any other device that doesn't have a native USB C port, you won't be able to utilize the full potential of this battery pack.

Clear as mud right? Now here's the deal with the way to charge the pack, you NEED a wall plug in that uses a USB C type of input. So, if you have a Pixel phone, congrats, you've got the right type of wall plug in! If not, then you do need to purchase a different type of wall plug in that has a USB C input.

Everyone still on the same page? Ok, on to the performance! This pack is a beast in every sense of the word. It charges incredibly quickly, and you can use it upwards for at least a week before needing to charge it back up. It takes about 4-5 hours to fully charge back up and it's small enough that it fits into one of my backpack pockets. To put it in perspective, I could play my nintendo switch on high brightness while it was plugged into the battery pack and it still charged it up. I've even got third party controllers on my switch, which takes up more energy and it still charged it up!

This is a very specialized type of battery pack that is built for folks who use USB C cables. If you're not a native Android user, it's probably a good idea to look elsewhere. Otherwise, this was a great deal and it really helps keep me and my wife charged while on the go and it's been significantly less stressful to know that I won't be left floundering with a dead phone. Hope this helps clarify some things for folks!

People might be forgetting just how massive 20,000 mAh is.

Charging my phone was also just as expected. It charged it fully just as if it was plugged to the 18W charger which is to be expected but you know... I kind of still didn't cause it's a portable battery.

Overall, Anker is kind of my go to for when it comes to electrical devices. I don't see them cutting corners to get there products out and for that I trust their brand. I feel like my devices won't suddenly burn out cause of bad components or that the hubs won't provided the performance promised. Idk, you should definitely give then a try

Not surprisingly, it’s double the physical size and weight of the 10Ah Anker battery pack that’s been serving me well for years. Since Apple finally adopted USB-C fast charging for the iPhone 11 and with the MagSafe charger for it he iPhone 12, and since I like to charge my phone and Apple Watch overnight even when camping for a few days or other scenarios with no guaranteed power source, I figured it was time to upgrade.

This battery takes a fast charge through the USB-C port, and that’s a good thing since given it’s hefty capacity can still take a while. I haven’t timed it, but don’t expect to go from empty to topped off in just 20 minutes or something like that.

It does charge two devices simultaneously, if you have two of them plugged in. There are only 2 USB ports (one regular USB-A and one USB-C), so unless someone knows some magic hub or splitter type setup unlikely to work with smart power delivery negotiation, you’re limited to two devices at once. This is a little disappointing for my use case, as having an extra pair of ports means I could use the one high capacity battery pack to also charge my wife’s phone and watch at the same time. I’m guessing there’s a reason for the limitation, but I’d pay extra for another pair of ports.

Because of its size and weight, this 20Ah version not nearly as effortlessly portable as the 10Ah, but it’s still pretty easy to pack and carry. I use a compact toiletries zip-up bag to hold battery packs, wall chargers, and charging cords when traveling, and it still fits easily into it. Other than wishing it had another pair of output ports, there’s nothing to disappoint me in this package.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great battery pack

Feels super solidly built, as are most Anker products. It charges pretty quickly, however, you do need a USB PD wall charger in order for it to charge at a reasonable pace, so keep that in mind. If you're looking for something that can charge your devices (particularly if you have a Switch you'd like to be able to charge on the go), and think 10 000 mAh is too small but 268000 is too big, this battery pack is right in the sweetspot for capacity IMO.

I bought this particular pack because I needed something that used the USB PD standard so that my Nintendo Switch could be charged. And after some testing, it does charge my Switch at a reasonable pace even while playing games (at about half brightness). I've used it to charge my phone while I play Pokemon Go on it, and it works well there too.

You may find that only having two output ports (one USB A and C each) is not super ideal, depending on your use case. For me, it doesn't really matter as I can't ever imagine having to charge more than two devices at once, but again, your mileage may vary.

Overall, a great product and I'd recommend, particularly if you can get it on sale (regular price is on the pricey side, particularly compared to other offerings, either non-PD or other brands like Ravpower).

I carry this thing in my bookbag, It charges at 15-17w if you have a fast charger it charges pretty quick! And it loves to output fast charging to, i got around 18-20w output! You can also select small device charging i will call it! This mode is great for earbuds, small devices alike! This mode outputs far less wattage, voltage, etc, to protect small devices that cannot charge at high wattage. Though this mode is pretty useless to me as i've tested both modes on my galaxy buds, and it never outputted the wrong amount of power.

I bought this to replace my older 20000mah battery bank, it is so much smaller and much nicer feeling!

This power bank will not power laptops though! It does not say it will, but just so everyone knows!

This is my 2nd purchase and I loved my first one. Fast charging for USB C. Durable cover and sleek/thin relatively for a power bank that can charge my iPad and phone before it runs out of juice.
