Let me start by saying that I've gone through some higher priced bags already and have had issues that I couldn't live with.
I'll go over some of the particulars that set this bag apart from others.
1. The overall design of this bag is very practical. The sling design at the top is fantastic. I've experienced it's usefulness first hand. If your walking along with your camera in the backpack and the backpack's on your back, within 5 seconds you can have the back on the ground and the camera in your hand to take a picture. The backpack also stands on it's own very well and the bottom is waterproof in case it lands in a puddle. This is very ideal. A second note on this sling design... it gently cradles the camera like a baby as you walk along and grips the camera at it's lens so it won't in any way fall out even if the zipper flap is open. There are also Velcro tabs that stop the zipper from continuing to the bottom of the bag if you only need to access the camera (this is a nice safety design).
2. The zippers are heavy-duty! One thing that can make a perfectly good backpack turn to junk is faulty zippers. Not a problem with these things. The zipper closer/opener is about 3/4 inch wide and the zipper itself when closed is about 1/2 inch wide.
3. The material on the bag is of high quality. You can just tell that it is tough and will take a beating. It would be nice if it were waterproof, but I scotch-guarded it before using and it's good to go. The stitching on this bag is very well done. I compared it to the stitching on some of my other backpacks and bags and it is far superior.
4. The versatility of carrying is nice. The backpack has very comfortable straps for wearing on your back, and also has a handle on the top for carrying.
5. The interior... truly exactly how I would've designed it. This bag has a ton of space, lots of pockets, zippered compartments, etc. The main interior is what completely sold me on the bag. Instead of cheap thin dividers like most bags, this thing has memory foam pads that are curved to accommodate typical camera equipment & lenses that are round in shape. They have Velcro sides, so you can adjust them or move them wherever. I have them positioned so they actually hug my equipment snugly so there's no chance the equipment will fall out (again this you will not find in any other DSLR backpack). The entire interior is also felt, which is ideal for a camera bag.
Now for the size... I fit all my equipment into this bag easily without any trouble. I have my Canon T5i w/ 18-135mm STM lens & hood in the top sling. I have my Canon 55-250mm lens w/ hood, Canon 50mm f1.4 lens w/ hood, f.45 macro wide angle lens, Canon Speedlite 600ex-rt, battery chargers, misc. extra accessories and cleaning supplies in the main interior. The inside pocket of the main interior has my spare batteries, remote control flash and extra microfiber cloths. I have all my cleaning supplies, microfiber cloths and supplies in the front pouch. I have my B&W polarized filters and memory cards in the side pouch. And in the back area (normally reserved for a laptop which a 17" could easily fit) I have a neck strap, sling strap, cushioned hand strap, canon T5i manual, Speedlite manual, and room to spare.
I am absolutely baffled that the price on this bag is so reasonable. Honestly, the name Case Logic has never screamed high end to me, but this bag screams high end. I had people telling me how awesome this bag is just in the first week I had it. Compliments galore.
Thankyou Case Logic for taking the time design such an ideal high quality product at such a great price!
The only two suggestions I would have for this bag would be a waterproof sheath and a sternum (chest) strap.
Other than that, it's perfection.
Without even really having to say it, I highly recommend this bag.
I noticed there are no interior dimensions mentioned for the photo side of this case just the laptop side so here you go:
The camera gear side interior measures 16.5'' tall x 11'' wide x 6.5'' deep, about the size of your average backpack with tons of room. Will easily pass as a carry on bag!
