Note: HDMI and Sound - If you are utilizing HDMI for the built in speakers, I have found this to be a bit buggy. The sound will at times discontinue and requires an unplug and replug of the HDMI cable (My device being the XBOX One). I, however, do not utilize the built-in speakers as I have Astro A40 headphones. DVI is definitely my recommended port for your PC if you have that available. Let's face it, if you're buying this monitor, that's what you'll be using. (This does NOT effect my 5 star rating. It's a monitor, not a sound system.)
Game Capture Card: I currently use the AVermedia Live Gamer Portable for my XBOX One to this monitor and it has worked perfectly.
Bottom Line: As a Streamer and Content Creator, this monitor simply performs at beast mode consistently. It switches easily between DVI (My PC) and HDMI (My XBOX One) seamlessly and delivers the top notch performance I unequivocally expect from the Asus brand.
Side Note: I am purchasing this monitor AGAIN today. Why? Because it's worth having two. Seriously.

*edit*
Got my cable in, works amazingly now. Nvidia, and AMD as far as I know, have bugs that causes the GPU to think it's overheating when running dual monitors, one with 144hz. I have my running at 120hz and I'm still loving it. I highly recommend this product once everything got hooked up properly!
The only flaw I have found was around the edges it looks cheaply made. As in they do not fit perfectly. But it is hardly game breaking or a real problem. Does not affect the experience but does not look perfect on the exterior. Very easy to ignore for the performance and price. Very happy ASUS made such a great and affordable product.
This one is way overpriced but has some nice features and I wanted to try a $220+ monitor since the above were all sub-$200. This had a high rating with lots of ratings so I tried it. Right off the bat I was unimpressed. No display port and it only came with a HDMI cable that supports 60hz. Even the crap $180 ASUS monitors I tried had both DVI and HDMI cables and a DP port. I knew about the cable issue so I also ordered an $8 dual link DVI cable from Amazon at the same time(don't go to a brick and mortar store for one, you will pay 3-4X or more the price I paid). It is pretty pathetic that a $300 monitor doesn't come with the cabling needed to get the advertised refresh rate. Apparently, the 24" model comes with the proper cabling and display port but this doesn't. Makes no sense. Oddly, this has VGA also.
The 144hz doesn't seem to offer much improvement over 60hz. Games/video/scrolling aren't any smoother.
It looked okay out of the box, it would be acceptable with a $150 monitor. I played around with the settings and it got a bit better and then I found an ICC profile for a slightly different model the VG278he and I have zero complaints about how it looks. Everything looks sharp and the colors are very nice. The AOC I returned has an IPS panel and this TN panel is far and away superior, although the AOC was around $190.
There is very little back light bleed-through which is a common issue but I have to be looking for it to notice, it is very slight. There are slight light spots on a black screen, like on videos but isn't noticeable otherwise.
It also came with a very nice and solid stand that is adjustable, I don't need it as I have a dual VESA mount but the best part was the entire stand assembly can be removed so there is no ugly partial stand hanging below the monitor. There are no speakers which is a plus. Monitor speakers suck.
I can't get windows to see the monitor as anything but a Generic pnp monitor so I don't know if there is any features I am missing.
I took off a star because CS support from ASUS sucks. Before I found the color profile, I couldn't find a setting mix that looked really good and I sent in a request to see if they had one + complain about the lack of a DVI cable. It took over 2 weeks to get a response and the response was a worthless "fill out another form". It is making me consider returning this before the 30 day return period is over because it is obvious ASUS is untrustworthy. I wish EVGA made real monitors because that is the only hardware company I have dealt with that has excellent CS.
THAT BEING SAID I'm marking this 1 star off on general principle. This monitor DOES NOT come with a DVI-D Dual Link cable which is required to run 144hz. Instead coming with a standard HDMI cable (why?). This being one of the primary draws of the monitors I find that pretty bleh. We're talking about a $9.00 cable here. I think you can throw that in on $300 monitor instead of me realizing I need to order one after it's already arrived at my house.
