"No one tells a love story like Marie Force or makes characters come alive for the readers. She has an incredible ability to pull you into the story and long after you finish the book the scenes still play out in your head and your heart. The McCarthys of Gansett Island sets a very high standard for all other series." Desiree Holt, author of the Phoenix Agency and Naked Cowboys series

Victoria came to Gansett Island intending to spend about a year gaining some experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife. Little did she know that Gansett Island would work it's special magic on her and she would soon realize that the island had become her home. She loves her profession and the challenge of providing prenatal care to the women on the island. Together nearly a year, Victoria has also come to love her boyfriend Shannon O'Grady. Although her physical relationship with Shannon has been wonderful, lately she feels that it lacks the kind of true intimacy she craves. Due to his refusal to talk about his past life in Ireland and his intention to keep their relationship light rather than allow it to become serious, Victoria comes to the realization that she doesn't really know Shannon any better than the day they met one year ago. Their relationship may seem perfect on the surface but it's foundation is shaky. Determined to find out the answers to Shannon's past Victoria turns to his cousin Seamus for answers. What she discovers will turn her whole world upside down and have her wishing she had left well enough alone! Part of her wants to hold Shannon and love him even if he's not capable of giving her more but Victoria is determined not to settle for less.
Nine years ago Shannon O'Grady suffered an unimaginable tragedy that left him feeling like a shell of the man he'd once been. He had come to Gansett Island with his Aunt Nora to visit his cousin Seamus. What he hadn't expected was to meet the wonderful, always joyful and very sexy Victoria Stevens and to stay on Gansett Island when his Aunt Nora left to go home to Ireland two weeks later. Almost one year later, he loves his job and the life he's found on Gansett Island. After a year on the island he's also come to the realization that Gansett feels like home in a way that Ireland hadn't since his life took a tragic turn. He hadn't planned on staying but after 2 weeks with Victoria he hadn't been ready to leave her. One year later he still wasn't ready to leave her! After suffering through tragedy, he had been determined to never become involved again. He thought his plan was working until he met Victoria and Gansett Island. Since meeting Victoria his life has been so much better and his dark moods appear less often. He admires Victoria and is grateful that she doesn't push him for more than he was capable of giving. Little did he know that after Victoria talks to Seamus that was all about to change. He soon discovers that Victoria has scaled all the walls he had built around his heart to protect himself and that she has become his home! Shannon fears that he may have pushed Victoria away for good and that his realizations may have come too late! Has he lost Victoria or can he still win her back?
Victoria & Shannon's story was an excellent start to Marie Force's Gansett Island Episodes! I loved getting to know them and enjoyed reading about how they were able to overcome the many obstacles in their way to find their "fairy tale" ending! In this episode we get a chance to visit with many other beloved Gansett Island characters. We also get to welcome three new babies to Gansett! All three mothers had to overcome their own personal tragedies and challenges to find true happiness. Reading about their birthing experience, the overwhelmed and emotional dads, and seeing them all so happy in welcoming their new little ones into the world was truly special.
Once again Marie Force has written another amazing Gansett Island story. I always enjoy having the chance to visit with some of my favorite characters from Gansett! With these new Episodes I look forward to making the trip to Gansett more often. I'm looking forward to Episode 2 which will be Kevin & Chelsea's story. I can't wait! Thank you Marie for sharing your remarkable talent with your fans! As always I am anxiously awaiting your next release! I hope you have a wonderful time in Ireland!💕
While the heartbreak and ache is absolutely awful, it’s necessary for this couple in particular. Delving into Shannon’s past is tragic and will shred your heart. Once again, grief plays a major role in creating a divide, but it also shows the depth of love and strength Victoria never really knew she possessed.
Overall, the heart break is messy and awful, but it allows for Shannon’s heart to truly mend and his mind to open. The tough love tact is hard to take but it brings this wonderful couple back together and sets them on their solid and true HEA path.
I know that a full novel takes a bit more time and effort than these shorter episode books, so I am happily on board with this idea. IMO-This Episode is the perfect appetizer while waiting for a full length book. If all of the other episodes are as good as this one was....I'll be in 7th.Heaven!
I do however; have a major problem with this author. It seems like everytime she releases a new Gansett Island book I loose sleep and even forget to eat (which is more of a problem for my poor husband, than me. lol Give me a good book and I'm fine, but for some reason he thinks he needs to eat now and then. Go figure.....MEN! *sigh*), but that's mainly because they are just way too good to put it down, until I've read every single page. I've tried, believe me....but I just can't do it. I tell myself, just one more chapter, and then before you know it....I find myself at the end story, many hours later.
This episode focuses on mainly Victoria and Shannon, with a few other of our favorite characters thrown in. These two have been around a while in the series, but despite not really hearing many in depth details about either one of them until now, other than just that they were a couple. I admit; I cried happy tears with each baby that was born, and sad tears over the turmoil and heart-break that ensued between Victoria and Shannon. But what I find the most heart-warming thing of all about all of these books, are the way that friends and family members always come together when someone find themselves going through a rough spot, whether it's lending an ear for them to vent, giving them a little moral support, or lending them a shoulder to cry on. If everyone did what these people do on this Island, it would be a perfect world.
If you haven't read this series yet, please....give it a try. I assure you, you will not be disappoint in any way. If anything, you'll find yourself hooked just as much as I am.

I enjoyed that we were able to see where some of the others characters are now. I loved reading about the births and how the story didn’t just end with their babies births! So much good stuff!!
Then there was Victoria and Shannon, how can their relationship just be defined in such a short novel. Victoria broke my heart, her love for Shannon and his dismissal of it was just so sad. The way Marie wrote their story was so touching. Although with how angry Shannon was and how passionate he was for Fiona I was surprised with how the ending came to be but Loved it...

Each return to Gansett Island is like returning to visit family - unfortunately this was like a quick evening catch up rather than a weekend visit......over far too soon!
However this doesn't mean Marie has scrimped on the drama, emotion, heartbreak or passion, it is as normal jam packed full of all of these!
It was fantastic to see deeper into Victoria and Shannon's relationship and to catch up with the rest of the 'Gansett Family'. I enjoyed every page, just wished there were more.
I cannot wait to go back to Gansett
