Bought this motor to cut up and install on the back of a 10 foot kayak with foot steering, watt meter, and step-less power control. It is the perfect size for the small kayak and reaches ~4 mph at full power. Paired with a 13 lb 40ah lithium battery it runs at full power for >3.5 hours, starting at ~155W drawing 11-12A for the first hour, ~145W for the second hour, gradually tapering down to ~130W after 3 hours. It draws 15-16A and reaches 200W transiently with a fresh battery when the boat is not yet moving, and the current draw decreases to <12A when reaching full speed. At 50W the boat moves at ~2 mph and will last longer than your back can tolerate. After ~50 hours of running at full power, it started to generate a horrible noise at start. Opened up the motor and found there was almost no lubrication left at the bearings. After adding a lot of marine grease it produces a nice hum and no problem now at >100 hour of full speed running. Did not see much wear at the brush so it should last with the right lubrication, but it will frustrate someone without the interest of opening and working on the motor since reassembling takes the help of another person to ply open the brushes. The prop is made with flexible clear plastic but very tough, only suffered minor scratches after hitting submerged logs many times. Does not seem to need replacement unless hitting rocks. However, probably because the prop flexes somewhat, the whole assembly generates some vibration when reaching full speed probably from turbulent flow behind the kayak. A lot of tinkering has to be made to the attachment to isolate the vibration from the hull. But the end product is a quiet and fast lazy boat that can run up and down a mild shallow river with lots of submerged logs, still lets you hear all the birds and insects around, or slow down and move almost silently. Good for trips of ~12-14 miles. The low weight and small size is perfect for small kayak, a 30 lb Minn Kota feels like a ton and a giant in comparison and will not fit a 10 ft kayak well. The original two speed control also works well too, but produces a bump when switching to high. It is perfect for a small kayak, providing a silky quiet fast joy ride that a gas motor or a large trolling motor on a larger boat cannot.

Bought this motor for a sevylor 360 fish hunter boat. It says it's made for the boat. Looked at reviews and youtube videos before buying. Looked like it would work pretty good. Put it on the boat and with dead calm wind it worked ok, not good, just ok. The wind got up to about 4 mph and it wouldn't even move the boat against a light breeze. Had to paddle the boat back to the launching area. Really disappointed in a motor that is supposed to be boat specific. Prop is very thin plastic and feels really fragile. The rest of the motor seems to be built strong enough for what it is. It may be ok for a kayak or really tiny boat, but you are better of with a motor mount and a real trolling motor.

I purchased this for my Sevlyor 360 6 person raft. It fits easily and moves along at a good pace. The reverse never seemed to work that great, but I never really needed it.

Operation was easy, but it required me to sit in a fairly awkward position. We were out on the lake for quite awhile when the wind picked up. The motor could not get us moving into the wind. We paddled back in, but I blame the wind more than the motor.

My only real complaint was that the clips didn't match up well with the Sevylor 12V battery.

Ok I had my doubts for real. I got this motor because it was cheaper and lighter than any other motor out there. It performs wonderfully!! I use a "UPG 85980/D5722 Sealed Lead Acid Battery (12V; 35 AH)" with this motor and can run it almost continuously for 5 hours at least. The power does cut down to about half at about the 3 hour mark but if I run it on the second speed it will still go about as fast as I can paddle for several hours. This motor is a great buy for a Pelican kayak. I built a mount out of 2x4's and screws and brackets that works amazingly well. Prop replacements are available if your not stupid and know where to look. I am a satisfied customer!

this product works OK, but I would like to have a spare propeller and shear pin with me especially out on the water. BUT WHEN I contacted the manufacture about parts I was told they DO NOT HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE, THEY WOULD REPLACE THE MOTOR UNDER WARRANTY.I cannot advise anyone
to purchase this product new and especially used where there is no warranty.

This works for a small inflatable but it is rather flimsy and difficult to flip up when you reach shallow water. It is also hard to control with the short tiller. You have to be right beside it in the back of the boat. I would only use it on a small lake. If you hit a strong headwind, it will be hard to make progress. That being said, it does get you where you want to go in calm water.

I bought this to put on a Sevvlar Inflatable 3 man boat. The motor is small and very light but powerful enough to make a light weight boat move. Two forward and two reverse speeds. Quiet . The handle could be longer , but great for the price I paid and perfect for an inflatable or light weight boat. I have no regret about this purchase and it is perfect for my use !
