4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 8,045 ratings

"Sexy, seductive and simply delightful. Deanna Chase has worked magic, and I can’t get enough of Jade Calhoun and her adventures on Bourbon Street" - Viv Arend

New York Times bestselling author. Jade loves her new apartment—until a ghost joins her in the shower.

When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn’t count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord.

Being an empath has never been easy on Jade’s relationships. It’s no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it’s up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her. Except she’ll need Kane’s help—and he’s betrayed her with a secret of his own—to do it. Can she find a way to trust him and herself before Pyper is lost?

"It's rare when a full-length novel can keep me entertained! But I was firmly planted on my chair while reading HAUNTED ON BOURBON STREET." Erinne~The Romance Reviews

"Haunted on Bourbon Street sucked me in faster than I expected and once I reached the end, I kept looking for more pages. The supporting characters are all unique in their own rights and I can't wait to read book two." Stacy~Sizzling Hot Book Reviews

Deanna Chase has a real gift for calling into being interesting, heartwarming characters, inventing a plot that twists and turns yet always holds together, while deftly handling a sweet romance. And she writes with excellent English too!! I can’t wait to read more

I quite liked this ghost story set in New Orleans. Escaping her hateful ex, empath Jade moves from Boise to New Orleans to be closer to her best friend only to find her ex is dating her BFF. Good people offer her lodgings above a strip club but almost instantly her empath abilities go into overdrive when she senses a spirit following her. When another co-worker confesses to having the same feels, things turn sinister and if it weren’t for the tall dark and handsome club owner, Jade would be done for.

I liked Jade’s & Kane’s story, loved the witchy, empath and ghosthunting aspects and the entire whodunnit where the intrigue unfurled and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end, but the pace could have been more uptempo, hence 4🤩.

Recommended for lovers of whodunnits with ghosts with a romance sideline.

This book was amazing. It was funny and witty, loving and charming, with suspense thrown in. I would definitely recommend Haunted on Bourbon Street!!!!!

I love a good witchy ghost story and mix that with our main character being an empath, and I knew I had to read this. However, this novel wasn't what I had hoped it would be. The story was interesting. A haunting by itself is cool to read about. But overall, it was only good, not great. This story shows a lot of promise but I don't think the writing did it many favors.

There were some things that I didn't love. The number one thing I didn't like were the incessant sex dreams that weren't completely dreams. They felt kind of rapey and I didn't appreciate that in the romance the author was cultivation. I also didn't appreciate how Jade's friends made her feel guilty about being creeped out by it. Just because Kane is apparently beyond sexy does not make it right or any less creepy. Yes, I understand that he didn't initially do it on purpose but he does say he stayed and participated on purposed. Though at least it comes out fairly quickly, and not after years and years like it took Jade to tell her Dale. It was a little ridiculous that Jade does feel completely betrayed by that though when she's been hiding her own intrusive gift, that she has also purposely used on him before. Also, her referring to her sex dream ghost as 'Mr. Sexy' made my everything cringe.

Another thing is that Jade doesn't really use her empath abilities to help solve the mystery. All she really does is eavesdrop on everyone's emotions, both accidentally and on purpose, and become overwhelmed whenever she entered a crowded space. Side note, you'd think that as she has had this ability her whole life, she would be more adept at adapting to crowded locations and blocking out the emotions... If she wasn't great at it, she probably shouldn't have more to New Orleans, a very bustling tourist city.

Speaking of New Orleans, this book could have honestly been set anywhere, because besides the singular mention of a Voodoo shop, a side comment on the road being closed for a block party, and the paranormal aspects, there was very little of what I would consider the essence of New Orleans. At minimum, I expected jazz and tons of tourists, drinking and dancing in the streets.

I might continue with the series. This was a good filler book and I did enjoy the storyline. I just wish it had been planned out and written out a little better.

So I am truly glad that I did not let the low star count for reviews turn me off from reading this book. I have had it on my Kindle for sometime and did not realize what a great book I was missing out on.

I was captured from the first page of the book. I am a big fan of the Paranormal genre and found that I will be adding this author to my list of must read.

This book had a little bit of everything mixed up into a really nice story line. I definitely had myself stressed a little on what was going to happen, lol. The characters all seemed to mesh very nice together and really helped with putting the story together. The author did a great job at writing and very little grammar/spelling issues (which to me is no big deal and does not change a rating for me).

Jade has a special gift and a gift that she prefers not to share, due to the fact the last time she shared her gift it caused her heartache and pain. The only person who knows is her Aunt Gwen and her best friend Kat. She moves to New Orleans on the request of her best friend. Here she settles into a small studio apartment above a strip club called Wicked. This is where she encounters her ghost and everything seems to take a different turn.

In steps Kane, the owner of the club.....Wow....hotness all rolled up into a nice little man package, lol....who wouldn't want a guy who is super hot, sweet as can be and mysterious in his own way....I would!! He is definitely on my top list for book boyfriends.

I am not sure where the others didn't see the issue at hand with Dan and Jade. It was mentioned in the story line why Dan pretty much hates Jade. So I wasn't confused on that aspect. I think there will be more to their story maybe in the other books to come. I can't wait to read them!!

This book was so great that I started and finished in a day! I have a feeling nothing will get done around the house till I finish the rest of the books, lol.

Don't let the low grade on reviews stop you from picking up this book! I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this author!

I’ve had this book since June 2012 and I finally decided to read it. This book is about Jade and her being an empathy which explores all things witchy and the unknown. The book was good there were some parts I feel was dragged on. If you like New Orleans, ghosts and witches you’ll love this book.

I really loved this book and came to this Author via Keating Hollow books but be warned these are sexier and darker.
I utterly loved it, complex relationships between characters and a mystery to be solved. The ghost was also disturbing, in all thoroughly enjoyable.

Excellent intro to a seemingly rich miniverse that avoids most of the clichés of the genres that the author juggles with ease. Likable characters and a good supporting cast too. All in all, a very satisfying quick read that made me buy the next one without hesitation.
