Product Description

Eppicotispai Chitarra (pronounced key-tahr-rah) is a pasta maker believed to have been invented in Chieti, Abruzzo region in central Italy around the 1800's.Meaning 'guitar,' a chitarra looks like a double-sided harp, with strings set close on one side, farther on the other. In then center of the device is a slanted board, designed to allow the cut pasta to slide off easily once it's been cut by the strings. Simply use a rolling pin, flattening and pressing the dough through the wires.

The item looked so nice, and it works..if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s cricked. And when I was cleaning it after one use I noticed a couple of splinters coming out from the board. I don’t think it’ll last long. If you don’t wanna just hang it on the wall, get a better one.I returned it, ordered a second one.The new one was lost during the shipment.I ordered a third one.The third one had the same problems of the first one: cricked and with splinters coming out.Not happy at all.

The product itself was less the problem than the manner in which it was represented. It was listed as "Condition: Used - Acceptable - Item has major cosmetic damages but is still usable." The damage to this was NOT merely "cosmetic," it was absolutely unusable because the strings of the cutter were so mangled as to render it useless without restringing. IF the description had made it clear that it did not work in its present state I would definitely not have purchased it. It was an international order, so it is likely a major hassle to return it. As it is, I am stuck with this now and the only way it will be of any use is if I can restring it. I would NEVER buy from this vendor again as I feel they intentionally sold damaged goods as having merely a cosmetic flaw. I feel cheated.
