Gah, I'm in love with Alice and Morris!!Broken Sparrow is splendid! Morris is the perfect kind of MC VP, not too gruff, not too angry, just waiting (unknowingly) for the perfect lady to fall into his lap. Alice is an excellent representation of what a beaten down woman can look like when she's forgotten who to trust, and where to run next. I loved the way she cared for her daughter, and didn't give up on the idea that Zoe should be allowed to be a little girl.From their meet-cute I could just tell Alice was what Morris needed, and that Morris would do whatever he could to protect her from her narcissistic, abusive ex-husband. I won't lie, I was a little stunned by the "insta-love" feeling, figuring it would take Alice a while to warm up to Morris, but it didn't feel put on, or like she was struggling through past demons in that area so it felt ok.I love that outside the issues with Alice's ex-husband, Broken Sparrow was very low angst, and that was exactly what I needed right now.Broken Sparrow is a very well told age-gap, forced proximity, MC Romance with low angst and a very sweet ending. I can't wait to read Broken Dove next!4/5 ⭐'s4/5 🌶's

I've had this book for about a year and 1/2. I collect books and have way too many on my to be read stack. This popped up on Facebook today and I found I already owned it and read it all day. It was so good. Alice was married to an abusive jerk and had taken most everything from her, including the sparkle of her 6 year old daughter Zoey. Zoey had learned to be quiet and respectful and not make any noise, interrupt or have any fun. Alice had it much worse, but Zoey didn't see that. She finally escaped and ran into money problems right away and Morris (a tall, tattoed biker) saved her a couple times. Unfortunately, she had not heard the last from her husband and he caused quite a bit of trouble, but he paid for it in the end. Alice finally had what she wanted - a good man to help her raise her darling daughter

Ok.. so this was a strong intro to this series.. My main focus however was Morris.. he's just.. 🥵🥵 delicious and incredibly sweet..

I was invested in these all too familiar, realistic, heartbreaking circumstances that our heroine, Alice, is in with her adorable 6 yr old daughter Zoey.. So I found myself really proud of Alice and very much in-like with her for majority of this story.. but IDK, by the time this one ended, I just really felt like she was just an alright character.. She's just missing that thing that makes her truly a formidable heroine.. so that's why this one got 4 stars and not 5 from me... But I was VERY proud of her in chapter 24.. This chapter will have you feeling all kinds of things.

Also, her husband Jerry... what a freaking jerk of joke.. by the end he didn't really seem as frightening or dangerous to me, the way Alice, and certain circumstances shaped him out to be.. By the end he was really just a spineless jerk of a gnat.. An annoyance, not a true threat.. so that felt kinda.. lacking for me.. Yeah.

Other than that this was a good read. I would recommend it.. I'm not really interested in book 2, though this book sets up that premise nicely.. I may come back for book 3 later though.. Since these can be read as stand-alones..

BROKEN SPARROW by Chelle Bliss an MC book that since I haven't read one in a while and this one called to me. An abused women with a 6-year-old daughter is trying to escape her husband. For the sake of her daughter, she had to be careful in getting away from this man. She'd made poor judgment in marrying her daughter's biological father who abandoned them. But this guy was worse, and she feared any day what he would do to them.

Alice Sparrow thought she had planned very carefully an escape route, but it's not going as planned. Everything that could go wrong was doing just that. She stopped to get gas and buy some food for her daughter named Zoey, but her bank card was not working. Who'd have thought that her hero was a biker with lots of tattoos and a huge built with plenty of muscles. He knows this woman is in trouble and on the run. He sees a young child in the back seat of her beat up car. He helps with the money problem and puts his number in her phone. Tells her to call him if she was ever in trouble. Little did Morris know that in less than an hour she would have been in dire need of him. Her hero is a biker! The good guys never look like heroes, but the villains somehow always do.

But it was so bloody constant!
More pages of sex than actual story.
It was a bit exhausting, plus it's also about billionaires, which I also find exhausting.
This story was more... possible.
I really enjoyed it, and the sex part was enough to make it also possible, but it's still hot.
I'm 100% going to go and buy the next book and get to reading.
I 100% understand that I'm not going to have to worry about the couple in this next book becoming billionaires and suddenly being able to do things completely out of my grasp.
I'm going to enjoy it so much more because it's not a fantasy novel without unicorns.

That kind of thing is fun.
For a while.
It's just not my cup of tea 100% of the time I like to devote to my reading.
On to book 2.

So I picked up this book because I actually had a similar experience in my life, right down to the burly biker guy. FMC, Alice, is way too trusting. There’s no way a mother (and I want to capitalize mother for emphasis) who is fleeing an abusive relationship that very same day would trust a dude enough to give out her real name, crash at his house, have sex with him while her daughter has a sleep-over with someone she also met that day. She acts like her soon-to-be ex is some kind of mafioso but it’s just freaking Jerry who owns a car dealership. Not to say that abusers don’t come in all different size and shapes but she acts so terrified but then does everything possible to get herself into a similar situation almost immediately. I mean I’m glad it works out but this relationship happened way too quick. I’m actually surprised that *spoiler ahead* that Morris didn’t propose to Alice as soon as her ex got arrested. That just seemed like the pace. I am glad there was an epilogue that gave the relationship some time to mature. The break-neck speed of this romance makes we want to give it two stars but the fact that I actually finished it in less than day bumps it to three stars.
