We get to know Tristan in the previous books in the Harborside Nights series, but really get to dig into what makes him tick in his story. Tristan is a sensitive man who isn't looking for his happily-ever-after when he walks into the bar. He's confident in his sexuality and his feelings for Alex, but struggles with how Alex is dealing with his transition to civilian life. I love Alex. He's also confident in his sexuality but struggles with how to act in an environment where it is not frowned upon. He isn't ashamed of his relationship with Tristan, but he can't change the behaviors that have been drilled into him for his entire military career. He fits well into Tristan's circle of friends and accepts that he isn't going to change his relationship with them because Alex is now part of his life. I love how the two of them work together to establish Alex's life in Harborside and adjust to his grandmother's death. The one struggle I had is that I felt like their relationship didn't hit many speed bumps. Other than Alex's behavior with Tristan while in a military environment, their relationship was pretty smooth sailing the entire time. I wish there would have been a bit more that they needed to struggle through on the way to their happily-ever-after. But all in all, a great love story with a happily-ever-after, showing a realistic depiction of a gay couple dealing with real-life struggles of how the world accepts them. Two beautiful characters, both sensitive, damaged from past traumas and experiences find themselves falling hard for each other. They are both so supportive and considerate to each other's needs even though their passion is overwhelming them. This is a story full of love, hope, understanding and the strength to move on. Alex arrives in Harborside after his grandmother dies, he is fighting against his own fears, guilt and the deep pain, both mentally and physically, from his traumatic past. Tristan, who was very close to Alex's grandmother, has been so hurt in the past from previous relationships is unsure of making another commitment. Yet fate has a way of bringing these two sensitive souls together and they are instantly attracted to each other, love at first sight, their love helps each other to move on, along with the love and shared fondness they felt for Alex's grandmother. The story swaps between Tristan's and Alex's thoughts and points of view giving you the whole picture. I loved following their emotional and heart warming story as they grew closer and closer, it was so moving and really touched me. One minute I found myself choked with emotion the next laughing or smiling at their words of love. Their passion was off the scales hot intensifying their love and confirming how they truly felt for each other. This was my very first male/male romance read, one that was seriously hot too, all I can say is that it fills your heart with joy. I absolutely loved going back to my Harborside crew of fictional friends, they have such a special bond between them and are always there for each other. I was looking forward to Tristan's story after reading Discovering Delilah where I saw a glimpse of his lovely character. Melissa's writing really brings out the characters soul to the reader so the connection you feel is beautifully deep, there's a softness you feel when reading her books that makes you want to read more and more. It shows the enormous lengths you can go to change or improve when you have the love and support behind you.

Overall: - 5 / 5 Amount of sex - 4 / 5 How explicit - 4 / 5 Romance - 5 / 5 I have been looking forward to reading Tempting Tristan, the newest Harborside Nights book by Melissa Foster, for some time now. I knew it was going to be a fun spicy book, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was so much more! Now don’t get me wrong… this book was incredibly hot, but it also had an amazing story line. Sometimes it is hard to find both aspects in one book. Tempting Tristan is the 3rd book in the Harborside Nights series, and a complete standalone. I have not read the first two books and was able to follow the story with no issues. I will definitely be going back and reading the other books in the series since I loved this one so much! Tempting Tristan tells the story of two men who have both been scarred, one internally and the other externally. It describes the struggles, the passion, the frustration, the friendship and so much more. For those who have not read a MM story yet, I recommend you give this book a shot before passing on it. 5+ stars! ** Voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy **
