Both are great snow boots with a very similar fit, style, comfort level & provide additional warmth. Personally, I don't find either boot to be super cute, but for a snow boot, I wasn't looking for adorable. I call them my duck boots...both make my feet look bigger. lol For playing in the snow, I seriously don't care about looks...I want warmth, dry feet, comfort and good traction. Both provide this. They do look best with skinny jeans and/or fleece lined leggings.
Price comparison: I paid $119.95 (Sorel) vs. $36 (Jambu) --found both at a sale price =) *If price is a major factor, I'd recommend going with Jambu. Although vegan, the quality is very similar in craftsmanship.
Appearance and width factor: I do prefer the Sorel over Jambu. I have a normal width foot. Both Sorel and Jambu are very roomy in the footbed, and great for thick socks. Jambu is slightly wider in the toebox. The faux fur is very similar, but Sorel fluffs out a little more. I also prefer the detailing seams and the look of real suede on Sorel's Joan of Arctic boot.
Sizing: I wear a size 6.5M in all of my boots (I only, very rarely, go up or down 1/2 size when a shoe is known to run small or large). Both boots are roomy for 6.5M, which I did expect for snow boots (and for wearing thicker socks). My Sorel are roughly 1/4" longer, while Jambu are about 1/4" wider. While wearing these, the length is not noticeable in Sorel (which also has a removable sock liner; as does Jambu), but in the Jambu, I do feel noticeable extra width. I can still wear both comfortably, but my preference aims more toward Sorel for my foot....regular/normal width (closer to wide than narrow, but not wide), high arch and narrow heel.
Both have a little extra room in the heel, as I'd expect, but once laced up, the boots are secure without slippage going on. I have fairly slender calves, and I can get each to lace up almost snug for me. Both have plenty of leeway for wider calves.
Traction & Snow Play: I haven't had the chance to play a lot in the snow, but both are great from testing them out. Great traction and feet stay warm and dry. Both are fairly easy to get on, but for taking off, you will need to loosen the laces very wide to remove....they are harder to get off than on.
I give both 5 stars for different reasons. If the price isn't a factor, I'd recommend Sorel over Jambu (especially if you don't have a very wide foot). If price is a factor and/or you prefer vegan, Jambu is a super good option (especially, if you have a wider foot). For price, comfort, keeping warm & dry, Jambu is a very good snow boot. =)
I've now owned these for around a year or so, and I absolutely love them. I could never go back to subpar boots. They are not only really comfortable (in my original review I mentioned that the bulging at the ankle dug in a bit, but they broke in really quickly and I don't notice that at all anymore), my feet have never once gotten wet or cold while I was wearing them. At this point, honestly, the only thing that's annoying is that the liner comes out when I take my foot out of the boot. With that said though, it's a minor annoyance. For the price of these things and how well they've held up, I'd definitely buy them again. The pros far outweigh the cons. I also continue to get compliments on them, and there is zero sign of them breaking down at all. At this rate I don't see myself needing to replace them for a very long time. Oh, and one more thing to note, they have excellent traction on them, so on icy walkways I seem to have much less propensity for slipping than I do when wearing other shoes. Overall, such an excellent purchase.

Original review:
I got these boots about a week and a half ago and have been outside shoveling in a Maine blizzard with them and they kept my feet completely dry and warm. They are really comfortable for the most part, however, when I put my foot in them they lose shape a little and the shaft becomes slightly bulgy and scrunched near the ankle - and because they are very thick that means the shaft can dig a little into the back of my calf/ankle where it's becoming bunchy. As of yet I haven't ended up with any sore spots or blisters, though admittedly the longest I've worn them is only a couple hours at a time. The one other thing that irks me about them is that the pics are a little misleading; the fur at the top does not extend behind the tongue, which is pretty wide, so from the front you don't have a full circle of fur around your calf. With that said though, I've been complimented on them more than once when out in public, and considering the warmth and dryness they provide, and what seems to be super solid craftsmanship, I would buy them again if given the choice between these and the Joan of Arctics by Sorel because they are less than a third of the price of those! And as an added bonus, no animals were killed in the making of the Jambus. Win-win.
