I took the free upgrade to Windows 10 knowing that I'd lose Windows Media Center in the process. Then I spent about a year trying unsuccessfully to install Windows 7 on a 6th gen NUC. Then I bought this little PC, and I'm back in business. I have my OTA DVR back, better than ever, and this little machine is nearly as small, and about as energy efficient as my NUC.
The graphics capability of the HD 530 integrated graphics is far superior to the Xbox 360 I previously used as an extender, and the PC is snappy and quick with the SSD and 8GB DDR4 ram. I have yet to tweak the scan to match my 60" Panasonic 1080p plasma, but the picture quality is better than the DISH DVR I just sent back.
One caveat: the initial Windows Update took about 3 days to complete, even though the system came with SP1 installed and the installation was only 6 months old. However, after the initial update, all subsequent updates complete overnight and the backups in WHS 2011 also complete successfully overnight.
I have hung an external 3TB WD Green HDD off it, and am using a Logitech wireless KB /Trackpad, and couldn't be happier. I suppose the system might be okay for some general home computing tasks, but I'm still using my monster quad core i7 with WIn 10 Pro x64 dor that. When the monster gives up the ghost, I'll certainly consider getting another Lenovo ThinkCenter 700 (with a little more horsepower) to replace it. For now, the M700 is a fine little HTPC.

I've used these ThinkCentre mini-pc's with clients and they work really well. There are much more powerful computers out there, but sometimes I run into situations where the size of the computer is the most important thing. The whole computer isn't much bigger than size of the 5.25 DVD drive in my full size desktop! If you don't need a ton of power or are just using this as an HTPC, this is great. The metal case is very nice Especially since these are tough business class computers, these are great for the deal of the day price! I've paid closer to $500 for these on sale before. You're buying a machine with a 3 year warranty so it's meant to last!

There are two Deal of the Day M700 today on Amazon. One of them has a 500GB spinning disk hard drive and Windows 10 pro. One has a 128GB SSD and windows 7 pro. The windows 7 one is a windows 10 downgrade, so it comes with a windows 10 pro license if you want to upgrade it. Both come with the same processor and ram and have the exact same ports. But I think the 128GB SSD windows 7 ones has wifi built in. I'm not positive, but I don't think the 500GB windows 10 ones has wifi (only wired internet).

The performance is fine for general Microsoft office, email, and web browsing. It's not for gaming, but it will probably do casual gaming fine. I think it will run minecraft ok. I wouldn't want to use it for photoshop, but it will do fine for a little bit of basic photo ediiting. The one with the 128GB SSD boots faster and feels snappier than the one with the 500GB hard drive. The 128GB SSD will top no speed charts, but it's a lot faster than a spinning disc hard drive. The i3-6100T CPU is the low power version because the small computer needs the version that doesn't make as much heat. It's about 15% slower than a full i3-6100. If you need power, don't get a mini computer. This is great for what it does and how small it is!

It has a lot of ports for being so small! You get two USB 3.0 and a headphone and a mic jack on the front. On the back you get 4 more USB 3.0 ports. The back also has two DisplayPort video out ports. There are no HDMI or VGA ports. You can get DisplayPort to HDMI or Displayport to DVI adapters. There are DisplayPort to VGA adapters but I've not had great luck with them and you lose picture quality. There also is a wired internet port. The slightly more expensive 10HY0021US with the Windows 7 and the 128GB SSD has wifi. I'm not positive if the cheaper one with the 500GB hard drive and windows 10 has wifi, but I don't think it does. Amazon doesn't list the exact model so I can't be sure. Oh, and there is no CD/DVD drive in either.

It comes with a couple of accessories. The power adapter is an external laptop style power adapter. So there is a small box in the middle with a cord on one side that goes to the wall and a cord on the other side that goes to the computer. I believe these come with a USB keyboard and mouse but since Amazon doesn't mention them anywhere, I'm not sure.

You can't upgrade much. There are two laptop size ram slots of which mine had one 8GB chip. I won't say for sure that the one you get will have just one 8GB chip. It's easier to add more ram if there's one chip, but if you have two 4GB chips it will run the ram slightly faster if you don't upgrade. The other thing you can upgrade is the hard drive. The 500GB model has a 500GB 2.5 hard drive. I think the one I had with a 128GB SSD had a 2.5 SSD, but there is a M.2 slot under the 2.5 drive so I'm not totally sure what you'll get. I know that one of them that I opened up with a 2.5 hard drive had odd plastic pieces in the M.2 slot holes that seemed to keep you from adding a m.2 hard drive to that one. I'm not sure how easy it is to use the M.2 slot if yours doesn't come with a m.2 drive. I don't think you should run both the m.2 and the 2.5 at the same time because of heat. Also, I believe the m.2 drive is SATA only so no NVME drives. Sorry to be vague, but I don't have one of these in front of me and wouldn't be able to till tomorrow.

I think both of these Lenovo computers are great mini-pcs for the price. For me, it's a no brainer that the M700 with the 128GB SSD and the wifi is a better deal. I don't think I would use this type of machine in a place that I really needed to store a lot of stuff so for me the 500GB isn't a big draw. A lot of people who care a lot about the size of the computer care about extra cords so WIFI makes one less cord!

I took a chance on this Lenovo 10HY0021US TS M700 for a small form factor PC to connect to my home theater system. I've been using the Shuttle DS-81 series for all my tiny computer needs, but thought this Lenovo would be a good alternative. I can't speak to the Windows OS it ships with, since I am running Ubuntu Linux, which I have to say this little box works great with Xenial (LTS 16.04.1). Recognized the on-board Ethernet and the Wireless with no problems. This could easily be a solid desktop box for anyone with a small space. With the VESA mounting bracket you can attach it to the back of your monitor and leave your desktop free. So far I have not seen any issues with this unit. It runs whisper quiet, so I can't hear it from more than 3 feet away. I even like the vertical stand, its simple, but does the job and gives you even more options for placement. I also plugged in my old Logitech K520 Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (not the MK520) and it worked without any issue. Some people might be concerned by the small drive size, but in today's environment with cloud based drives and file shares, you don't really need lots of local storage space, and 128GB is more than enough for the OS and most applications. If you need extra space, just get a USB hard drive, the 3TB My Passport drive I use works great with this little box. Overall this is a solid box, with good performance and features to support a wide range of needs. Clearly you aren't going to be gaming with this setup, but for everyday use it fits the bill. I liked it so much that I'm ordering a second one to replace my old weather station server.
