Like the screen for the "screen" part of it. No complaints visually. Impresses everyone who sees it. However, it has a few caveats. Some may be Vizio's problem, some may be providers.

    1. Has 1 HDMI 2.0 port. The others are 1.4. Now,..... 2.0 switches are mighty cheap. Why didn't Vizio just make all 4 ports HDMI 2.0? Now I'm having to research switches and I'm sending one back already. The 1.4's will allow 4k, but at lower color and refresh rate.
    2. YouTube app doesn't do surround sound. It doesn't do it on my Xbox either. However, it is reported to do it on Roku. Not sure if this is Google's fault, or Vizio and Microsoft's in their integration of YouTube.
    3. Amazon Video app doesn't do HDR. The version on my Xbox does do HDR. Again, not sure if this is Amazon's fault, or Vizio's, in the integration of Amazon Video on the Vizio. So for Amazon Video, I use my Xbox rather than the Vizio Smartcast app.

Slightly off topic, but still Vizio: I originally ran my Vizio 5.1 soundbar off of the HDMI ARC port( that single HDMI 2.0 port,....). Since the Vizio soundbar is HDMI 1.4 and a low version of that which only supports 1080p passthrough, then to do "low" 4k, you had to use a 1.4 port on the TV. That means you bitstream Dolby through the TV down to the soundbar. Not sure if it's Vizio's decompression of Dolby, or just Dolby, but after you hear uncompressed 5.1 from the Xbox, you won't want to Bitstream Dolby. Surround sound out from the TV will be Bitstreamed Dolby. So once more, you will be migrating away from the SmartTV and using this as only a screen with one usable HDMI input. Just be prepared to buy external devices to get what you want.

My current setup is Xbox One S > AVRKey > HDMI 1 port on Vizio TV. AVRkey also splits HDMI audio to Vizio 5.1 Soundbar. So I get full 4k@60 and uncompressed 5.1. All other inputs are neutered until I get a good switch.

Just bought this tv thinking I'd be able to stream all my purchases video subscriptions. Buyer beware, you need to have your phone to stream hbo, Starz, most other streaming apps. I normally do not trash products but after spending a few hours setting up a tv mount and this tv, I found you cannot add apps. You get their select stock and that's it. No hbo now, no Starz, nothing but prime and Netflix (which might be fine for you). Probably going to return this

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 4K TV
Reviewed in Canada on February 5, 2018
I order many things from Amazon, but I never thought I would order a TV. I did some research on good value 4K TV’s and found the Visio M50-E1 highly rated by CNET and many others. I couldn’t get one locally and then I found it on Amazon. The TV came very quickly. I am always amazed they can ship stuff this big. Anyway the TV picture quality is brilliant. Good viewing even at an angle. The integration of Chromecasting into the TV is brilliant. I didn’t realize at the time how much I would use this. I cast video from my phone, my iPad, and my computer. I enjoy it daily. I highly recommend this TV.

I bought the M50-E1 in March of 2018 and it is now DEAD....black screen of death! I cannot get any support from Vizio to contact me either. Looks like I am SOL and just want to warn others about this company and their products. Vizio has NO SUPPORT in Canada and I found nobody in Canada that services their products. IMO DO NOT buy ANY vizio tv if you're in Canada. I replaced it with a Hisense and am very happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Look no further if gaming is your thing
Reviewed in Canada on October 29, 2017
Spent about 6 hours researching for my next tv when my old one bit the dust. This tv came do highly reviewed and was rated one of the best tv's for gaming and movies which is all I use it for. Going from a plasma to an uhdtv latency was a huge deal and this tv couldn't be any better. Amazing picture, smart functions are easy to use. The 2 negatives are that the legs seem very cheap and the app to control the tv doesn't work very well but thats why you're paying $200 less than other tvs

Great mid tier TV that comes with all the technology to be future safe. It is like the P series baby brother with all the options just a little less powerful. I have the P series in the living room and this in the bedroom. Super happy with it. You get Dolby Vision,hdr10, local dimming, all the features you need in a 4k screen..

3.0 out of 5 stars unhappy surprises
Reviewed in Canada on August 23, 2018
When we first bought this thing I was shocked to discover that it doesn't have a TV tuner. It's not a TV. I guess that got lost in the fine print, and I suppose that's on me.

But nine months in, our unit is starting to die. It doesn't turn on properly, and we're forced to try to turn it on repeatedly. I called Vizio support, they had me unplug the thing then press the power button on the back of the unit for five seconds. That got it booting properly again, but only for a day. I've also had the thing suddenly turn off.

So, it seems I'll be having it repaired as it's still under warranty but for what I paid I wasn't expecting such poor reliability. By contrast we still have a smaller Samsung flatscreen from for years ago that is still going strong.
