A great product that fills a need. Unfortunately, Sony has made it next to impossible to stand the PS4 up without this product (little rubber arcs stick out of the sides), so I guess they created the market themselves. At least the PS4 has the ability to stand vertically that is supported by Sony (looking at you MSFT). This stand, though, works great. It fits well into the grooves that are on the PS4 for this and it locks in satisfactorily. There's been no wiggle or loosening during the month or so I've been using it. $20 is a lot for something that should be standard, but it's reasonable, at least. Go for it if you want to save space or have any other good reason to stand up your PS4.

I was going to get that cheap $4.5 generic vertical stand, but then changed my mind and added this one to my cart instead. However, I accidentally didn't remove the cheap one from my cart and didn't notice it due to ordering a ton of Christmas gifts as well. So I got both. I directly compared them both and this one is by far the superior stand. That cheap one didn't add much stability compared to this one. On a point scale of 1-10, the cheap stand added 3 points of stability at the most. This PS version stand, added a solid 9+ points of stability.

Even though it's just a tiny bit on the expensive side, it fits and looks great together. What I really like the most is stand's built in locks. Using these locks makes them both physically attached to one another. Very simple to attach with NO sticky tape, screws or tools needed. Some of the cheaper vertical stands out there don't attach at all and that makes a vertical PS4 just as easy to tip over as without one at all. So If you decide to go vertical this is the perfect investment that fits and looks great together!

How does the locking mechanism work? I examined it before installing it, and didn't see the pegs change when I turned the knobs. Does it have micro hooks that I can't see? How are the locks keeping the stand in place? It's a very tight fit so there is not sloshing around. Really happy with it.

Needed a vertical base for my PS4 and didn't want to rely on third party accessories. I owned the Official PS3 Vertical Mount in the past and this has a similar quality construction. It's all plastic (and some rubber for grip) with two rotation knobs at the bottom to secure the stand on to the PS4. I'm sure you could pry it off with some force after attachment, but it's good enough to help stabilize the console in a vertical position.

Desde que adquirí mi PlayStation 4, me intrigaba la idea de colocarla en posición vertical, así que decidí probar este soporte. Este accesorio oficial de Sony resultó ser una adición esencial para mi experiencia de juego.

La descripción del producto no miente, el soporte se presenta en un elegante color negro con un acabado brillante que combina a la perfección con el diseño de la PS4. No puedo evitar pensar que debería haber venido incluido con la consola desde el principio, como mencionan algunos de los otros compradores.

I did some research beforehand and decided on the official Sony product on the basis that the non-official versions all had reviews indicating that their management of the heat vents wasn't so good. Even though the official Sony product doesn't provide for a separate dock for the DualShock controllers, the primary purpose of the stand was to allow me to put the machine in the vertical position to save space on my hi-fi rack. So to that extent, the product seems to work perfectly, although I've not had it for long enough to confirm that the unit disperses the heat well. But the other reviews on the site seem to indicate it works well, so I am assuming all will be well. Product was very simple to set up and makes a rigid enough platform to make me think it will not fall over too easily, at least not without a reasonable knock.
