... is my second Anker charger and I am very happy with this brand
This is my second Anker charger and I am very happy with this brand! My first one lasted over 3 years and still works but is on its last leg. I bought the 20,000 because it was at a great price that I couldn’t turn down and about 7,000 more capacity than my previous charger. I also loved how slender it is vs my old one which is thick and wide. My only complaint is the weight of it. I thought with technology improvements over the years that they would have figured out how to make them lighter but the new model is still quite heavy at 12.65oz which is 2oz heavier than my previous model. It’s not the biggest deal because it’s worth have an extra long battery life without having to constantly re-charge your spare battery. I also love the battery life indicator wheel which has 8 dots instead of the 4 on my previous model. The battery indicator wheel is so much easier to read now and I don’t have any issues trying to figure out when I’m running low on juice. The battery came with a nice bag with a drawstring so it doesn’t get all scratched up in the bottom of my purse. I also really appreciate the outter shell of the battery being matte instead of shiny like my previous model so I am hoping to show even less wear on it as the years go by. The battery charges quickly and is long lasting. I will update my review if anything else arises but so far so great!!

I have used this Anker PowerCore II for almost a year now. This has been a fantastic travel companion for the money, I would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone looking to extend their smart phone's operational battery life, or for simple recharging uses. 1 phone, 2 phones, Android, Apple, any phone with a USB charger has worked with this product. The amount of extended life I have gotten out of this PowerCore II has been at times exceptional. Lost power at home one weekend. I ended up entertaining myself with my Samsung Note phone for those 2 and a half days running exclusively off the Anker.... emailing, surfing the internet, watching YouTube videos (cats, mostly), and so on. I still had a couple LED dots worth of power on the Anker by the time the home electricity returned. I was impressed!

I use this device weekly, as many times I am away from a power outlet on the road, or on weekend excursions. It works, what can I say?

If there is any "down side" to the PowerCore II, it'd probably be that it takes around 6 to 10 hours to fully charge it...depending on a couple things.
If you have a direct wall plug, I've gotten from zero to full charge in 6 hours. Maybe 7 now that it's about a year old, but still... Anker was up front about that in the pamphlet supplied, and it's really not a bother. Plug it in at home, work, wherever and go about your day. By the time you're done with work, it'll be full.
What I observed that will potentially slow down the charging speed of this product is if you have it plugged into something like a power strip.
Even then, I suppose it depends on what KIND of strip it is. Newer more recently bought power strips with the built-in surge protection and red light -up click-on/off switches I have tried and the PowerCore II seems to act REALLY pokey on those in relation to charging speeds. One day I had this Anker on one such power strip and it only charged up three LED dots worth on the charge indicator after being on it for 4 hours. Bah. Maybe something with the surge-protection circuitry keeps the Anker from charging at full speed. I don't know.
However, I HAVE charged this unit at work using a really OLD power strip.... stamped metal beast of a thing with a simple on/off switch (no surge protection I am assuming) and it charged the PowerCore II just as fast as if it were plugged directly into a wall socket....so....Yay for old electrical strips I guess?
My point being, the PowerCore II prefers direct wall outlet access for maximum charging speed as far as I can tell.
I have *NOT* tried charging this Anker from a plug in a vehicle, or off of a generator as none of my cars are utilitarian enough to include a dedicated power outlet and I do not own a generator. Maybe someone else in these reviews has been lucky enough to accomplish that. I would imagine doing so would result in probably the same performance as seen from coupling to a wall outlet, but that's just an assumption on my part.

Unit has held up well, even the black mesh carry bag that came with it is still reasonably no worse for wear, despite having traveled with this device a lot between home and work, camping, beach days, and so forth.
Definite thumbs-up from me, Anker!

Overall, I'm really glad I made this purchase. It has helped me to charge my devices at times that were convenient for me. For example, my phone seems to have a smaller battery charge per day but this device keeps it charged when I am outside my car or away from a wall or computer. It is very convenient to be able to charge your phone in a hotel cafeteria area having breakfast or when in bed while away from a charging outlet.

I needed to buy charging cables for my phone recently and this device helped me to determine, on the spot, that the 3rd party cables wouldn't charge my version of the iPhone. I was able to return the cables and test another set of cables for a charge without having to find my own wall outlet or go to my car. Very convenient for me.

The device holds a good amount of charge capacity so it doesn't need to be fully charged to charge your phone well. However, it you like to see the PowerCore always at a full charge, be aware that it will take some time to completely charge the Anker PowerCore (hours). The size of PowerCore is a bit long, which I understand, but it makes it difficult to charge devices somewhat in your pocket or on your person if you don't have a carry-on bag/backpack/purse or a coat with large pockets.

**UPDATE: See bottom for Anker response to my Cons** -- because of great customer service and the explanations, I will update to 5 stars.

Pros:
- Carries a big charge at full capacity (capable of charging iPad tablets, phones, etc.)
- Charges up to two devices via USB (be careful to check your cables as some do not work with devices by model)
- Convenience to charge your devices at any location (bed, table, anywhere)
- Easy-to-use

Cons:
- Takes a while to charge up to full capacity (even with 5V 2.1 Amp charger -- but you don't need full to charge your phone completely)
- Cannot receive a charge and charge other devices at the same time
- Size is a bit long so it may be difficult to use on your person/on-the-go if can't stop or put it down somewhere or in a purse/bag

Anker response to Cons: (shortening response to details)

1) "Though we are trying our best to make it more compact, as it contains 6 cells of battery inside, it might not fit completely when putting it in a pocket. However, we will file out your feedback and suggestion our future product's improvement and design."

2) "Please kindly understand that we actually made the decision to remove this function from our portable chargers. Because when pass-through charging, if there is a difference between the output of the wall charger and the input of the device being recharged it can cause the portable charger to rapidly power on and off. This increases charging times for both the portable charger and your device, risks causing damage to the battery cells and can significantly shorten the portable charger's lifespan."

3) "What concerns us is that this model seems to take long time to recharge itself for you. We have made an improvement of this model by enabling the quick recharge feature. Per our internal test, it shall be able to recharge fully with about 5 hours when you using a QC 3.0 wall charger. But if you use a 5V/2A wall charger such as iPad charger, it shall take around 10 hours then."

5.0 out of 5 stars Charge for a week, cabin bag friendly travel essential
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 12, 2020
Color: whiteVerified Purchase
This is highly rated for good reason. I take this hiking, travelling and I get 7 full phone charges out of it before it needs a recharge. I normally need to charge my phone daily, so this is really handy on long train rides when I'm burning through battery on my devices watching videos. I can plug it in to the Anker and carry on. I actually use it more often than I thought I would when I bought it. It does weigh what it says it weighs, but I find it reliable, convenient and able to keep me charged for a week at a time. I have no regrets over this purchase. Also, a friend and I recently found ourselves in a country where we had the wrong wall plugs, so we plugged our phones into the Anker and charged up until we could find a wall charger a few days later. The two ports are really handy because we could both charge our phones at the same time.

This is the kit that will get you out of a tight spot when you are lost, need Google maps and you're low on mobile phone or tablet battery. It's a travel essential.

You can also legally take it in hand luggage on a plane.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enorme quantie d'energie en reserve pour vos smartphones. Tres belle qualite
Reviewed in France on September 19, 2019

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy with real confidence
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 19, 2019
I own several Anker products and here's why. Excellent build quality, Excellent performance and most importantly absolutely superb customer service.
I have bought 2 power banks from Anker, the first one was the power core 1, this performed very well but was unfortunately stolen. I didn't hesitate in deciding to purchase the newer power core 2 as I knew this was a quality product.
The battery life is outstanding, I own an S10 phone which i can re-charge at least 8 or 9 times. I also re charge a twin battery vape mod every other day. This power bank will last me on a full charge at least 1 week. It's just great to know you have power with you and you ain't running out! There are to outputs, an 18w output capable of fast charging an s10 or equivalent phone. A 2nd 12w output is capable of charging all usb devices at the normal rate.
The power bank is fairly heavy and i'm guessing most people would rather carry it in a bag rather than carry it in a pocket. It does come with a nice little padded carry pouch that definitely helps protect this already very robust item.
Around 1 month after purchase (April 2018) I noticed that the 12w output wasn't working, I decided that rather than go through the hassle of sending it back i'd be happy to use it with just 1 working output.
Fast forward to September 2019 and i decided to contact Anker customer service to ask if there was a possibility of getting the power bank fixed as I was going on holiday and the extra output would be useful.
I have had experience of dealing with Anker customer services before when they generously replaced a broken set of sound buds lite. This time they exceeded all expectations once gain. After approximately 24hrs they replied to my email asking for a few details of my purchase and a photo. I sent the required information and within a couple of days Anker replied to say they'd happily send me a NEW power core 2 and said I could keep the old one.
This is customer service that goes above and beyond every time! No one else comes close to this level of attention. This coupled with the fact that the actual products are seriously good quality especially for the price range, gives me real confidence in every purchase I make from this excellent company.

Since this happened i have just purchased Ankers Zolo liberty earbuds [upgraded] for £69.99 and without a shred of doubt in my mind.
I recommend any product this company produce. I own 2 power banks, 2 bluetooth speakers, and 3 sets of headphones/buds all of which i'm very happy with.
Thanks Anker!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Verarbeitung, riesen Powerspeicher
Reviewed in Germany on December 2, 2018
Sehr gute Powerbank, jedoch etwas schwer.
