Publisher's summary

Everyone knows the girl is off-limits. But it's so good to be bad.

There’s this girl....

Heidi and I have been trading hungry looks all year, and everything she does makes me smile. But I don't do girlfriends, and I certainly can't get involved with the league commissioner's daughter. I need shots on goal, not a hookup and a widely misunderstood paparazzi photo. Can I resist her, though? The way she teases me should be a game penalty for interference with my libido.

There’s this guy....

Jason wants me, but he won’t admit it. That man looks at me the way a hockey player eyes the lunch buffet after practice - and I love it.

But when victory is finally within my grasp, I blow it and humiliate myself. Even then I can’t even avoid him - as the team intern, I’m in constant view of his hard body and cocky smile.

I need another chance. Jason Castro is about to learn the true meaning of an overnight sensation.

Great sports series

I’m not always a fan of sports romances but I really enjoy the way this author writes her character. The book is more about people and their relationships then the fact that they are athletes.

Adorable

Jason Castro has made me giggle as a secondary character in the previous Brooklyn Bruisers books, so I was excited for his story. And it didn't disappoint. I was very pleasantly surprised to find Heidi Jo charming and hilarious as well. I loved how the author has her put her head down and work hard, rather than cave to her daddy. Their story is charming and might be predictable, there were some fun and unexpected turns. Fun read!

Great story!

I really enjoyed these two! I loved the banter between them! Jason is funny and Heidi gives as good as she takes the jokes and ribbing. I loved the way that she kept surprising Jason with what she was capable of (the different things she could) that just seemed a little different for her. I loved that she had tried so many things. I loved her attitude and how she kept handling what was thrown at her. This was a fun read and I can’t wait for the next one.
The narrator did a fantastic job with the accents and characters personalities. Really enjoyed listening and to it.

Excellent addition to BB

Loved that Heidi was a strong female lead. She had her insecurities, but they were relatively normal given her situation. Savannah Peachwood was excellent. Castro was a great character and had much more depth than I was expecting. I was a little disappointed that he did not have any hint of a Latino accent, as portrayed in earlier books...but I don’t blame that on Jason Clarke and thought he did an excellent job. Overall great story and surprisingly low angst for this series.

book is greatly recommend

Jason and Heidi have a really intense love story. Jason has to deal with past memories and he fights to accept being in love. Heidi has to learn how to be a regular person instead of a spoiled daughter. Both of them are surrounded by great friends who bring laughs along with unlimited support. I highly recommend this book.

Sensational Indeed!

The Brooklyn Bruisers are an amazing series and are exceptionally awesome in audio. Overnight Sensation is not the exception. Jason Clarke does a fantastic job as Jason Castro, and Savannah Peachwood brings Heidi Jo Pepper to live with her trademark Southern accent. I love listening to this audiobook and have done se more than once. And I will again, because it’s really outstanding.

I love reading romance novels that make me think beyond the obvious love story they’re telling. Sarina Bowen is my favorite author because she manages to do this in every book she writes, and also because her writing style is fuid and natural, and also witty and beautiful.

Overnight Sensation is more of a comedy than the previous books in the Brooklyn Bruisers series. A little lighter in the angst department, perhaps, but it still has its conflict to resolve and emotional baggage to unload.

Jason Castro has a reputation. He’s a player on and off the ice. He doesn’t do repeats, much less relationships, and he’s happy to keep it that way. His whole focus is in being the best hockey player he can be, and prove his worth. But Castro has hidden depths. Obviously. He’s a really nice guy with strong values, and a soft spot for Heidi. He’s famous for quoting Shakespeare and Dickens, and has a quirky sense of humor. The nerd factor is strong in him, too.

Heidi Jo Pepper is sheltered, polite to the bone, and a little naive. She sets her sights on Castro, wanting him to take her to the wild side for a night, to show her what real passion feels like. Her father’s controlling ways push her to revel against him, and try to be more independent, and find her own way. She proves to be not only efficient and creative, but also resilient and determined.

However, things go wrong rather quickly for Heidi, and Jason feels obligated to help her once again. Their proximity and obvious chemistry prove to be too much for Jason to resist. So when things get out of control, as they always do, they will have to decide what they really want for themselves and from each other, and how to get it.

I loved, loved, loved Overnight Sensation. It’s sweet, it’s fun, it’s hilarious. Nobody writes Hockey romance quite like Sarina Bowen. And if there is something that Sarina Bowen excels at, is at writing strong female characters. Heidi is not the exception. She is rather fierce. I fell in love with Jason because he’s a sweetheart who’s been trying for so long to protect himself from hurt, he’s confident and charming, and totally swoon worthy. But in my opinion, Heidi steals the show from start to finish. She’s strong, capable, and hilarious. I love her with my whole heart.

Sweet, sassy, and sexy!

I love these two! I loved their instant chemistry and dirty talk and all the situations keeping them apart. As always, Sarina Bowen nails consent, which is often missing in romance. I especially appreciate that they have a discussion (well, it's referenced) about why they can have unprotected sex. I highly recommend this read.

Amazing listen! Love Heidi & Jason

I absolutely loved this story! Heidi was amazingly strong, confident woman who didn't let anyone push her around. We need more heroines just like her. Jason was sexy & strong but broken. Together they were able to conquer it all! Loved them so much. And their chemistry was smoking hot. Excellent narration by Savannah Peachwood & Jason Clarke.
