From the manufacturer
An ideal choice for value-conscious system builders and upgraders
CX Series power supply units are an excellent choice for basic system builds and desktop PC computer upgrades. CX Series PSUs are available in a variety of power configurations, and include features that are normally found only on premium power supplies.
Reliable and compatible
CX Series is built and tested to strict standards for trouble-free installation and smooth operation.
Low noise
80 Plus Bronze certified efficiency and clever fan design allow for little or no detectable fan noise during regular operation.
Good looks
The matte black finish, black-sleeved cables and black connectors help give your system a restrained, high-tech look.
Engineering, quality control
Every Corsair power supply is designed by our California engineering team and built to our exact specifications. The same care that goes into the design and testing of our renowned high-power enthusiast power supplies also goes into the CX Series, because you need confidence and reliability regardless of your build budget.
Connectors and long cables
Long cables make CX Series suitable for installation even in full-height tower cases, and the generous cable count allows you to power multiple components and storage devices.
Thermally controlled fan
Once you’ve installed a PSU, you shouldn’t have to think about it. Employing a thermally controlled fan makes the CX Series virtually silent at idle, and the large diameter reduces noise even when you’re pushing your system hard.
Black goes with everything
You’re building a PC, not a battleship, and appearance counts. The matte black finish and all-black sleeved cables and connectors help give your system a high-tech, restrained look.

Quiet fan is really nice, and it is also temperture controlled so does not spin when not needed.
User reports backup the quality of this powersupply as it has a good operational record so it should last several years and probably longer than the life of a typical computer. Even though people are not upgrading desktops so quickly now.
This powersupply was a dropin replacement for my old Dell XPS 435 MT which is notorious for it's cheap unreliable factory power supply. I had to fight with that one for a while and I managed to get a couple more years out of it compared to many owners, but finally it just wasn't coming back live . This new one is a dream compared to the original and was a really affordable price.
Recommended if you are trying to keep your Dell XPS 435 MT running a little longer, or any machine that uses this type of powersupply. Check the dimensions before ordering.
~~First Impressions~~
Pros:
~ Generous cable count. There is more than enough cables to cover all of your peripherals and then some.
~Comes with two 6-pin PCI-e connectors that also have an additional 2 pins on both allowing them to fit the 8-pin role. The additional 2 pins stay out of the way otherwise.
~Has both sata and molex lines to cover current and legacy components. They lines are independent of each other so you don't have any of those wonky dual sata/molex lines.
~New part smell. Always a good sign.
~The dedicated rail will mean that any part that draws a lot of power will get what it actually needs. I may just be seeing things but it feels like my computer is running a bit better on the new power supply. Could be due to stuff actually getting proper power. No way to verify this.
~Includes 10 zip ties to facilitate cable management. Great for cases that don't have built in cable management.
Cons:
~The motherboard connector is ONLY 24-pin. This power supply is NOT COMPATIBLE with 20-pin motherboards.
~The cpu connector is ONLY 8-pin. This power supply is NOT COMPATIBLE for motherboards with a 4-pin cpu connector.
~The cords are a tad stiff, although this could be considered a pro to some people. Makes cable management slightly more difficult, but this could also lead to the cords lasting longer. Mostly wasn't an issue except for the PCI-e cord on the graphics card. Makes it more difficult to put the side panel back onto my case, but only slightly.
~~6 Month Update~~

Pros:
- Enough wattage for a single gaming video card. I have it with a XFX Radeon 7850.
- Nice long black sleeve wires that will reach full and mid tower cases. I have mine in a HAF 912 case and it reaches the top with easy.
- Two 6 pin pci express connections.
- Extremely silent, I can barely hear the fan spinning.
- The matte black design is awesome.
- The 12v rail is very stable and since it's 80 plus bronze the power comsumption is very efficient.
- The CPU connection is a 8 pin connector. You can deatache it for a 4-pin mobo. Just make sure to connect the pin labeled CPU.
- The 24-pin mobo is very solid and has a deatachable 4-pin connector for a 20-pin mobo. The molex and sata connectors fit securely.
- Enough SATA connector for SSD, HDD.
- Lots of plastic belts so you can dedicate sometime for an excellent cable management.
- This is a new version, there is an older version of this PSU, it seems that this version has been corrected by Corsair for issues described in the previous version. So be careful with your research and purchase.
- Price, is decent but is not modular, but for the reliability and design it Rocks!
- Has EPS voltage protection, so in case of power variations or overvoltage the PSU will prevent damage to the rest of your PC components.
CONS:
- Does not have any 3 pin case fan connector. So make sure to buy 3-pin to molex adapters depending on your case fans.
- Does not include the manual so make sure to go to the corsair webpage to download the pdf under the dowloads section.
- I read that it includes a corsair case badge, but the manual seems outdated, mine did not include the badge, but I understand since that lowers the cost.
I have been using it for month now and no problems at all. It looks awesome and can power up any gaming rig, again with a single video card with 1 or 2 - 6 pin pci express connectors. I recommend this PSU for anyone buiding a basic budget pc or a gaming pc. I have uploaded a couple of pictures so can have an idea of the look inside your case.

This PSU can do all you work very well giving great power output to your overclocked GPU(as I’ve overclocked my 1060 to max), 95TDP processor in my case I’ve an AMD A10 7850K, 2 hard drives one SSD. 4 120mm cooling fans.
As you can also buy CX600 M. M stands for modular for clean looking and great cabel management.
But this PSU works well at a price point at which you buy this!
Thanks Hope You’ll find this review helpful
Es además muy sencilla de instalar.
