Overall pretty good. I really wanted a green rotary laser, but its just too expensive.
Bright enough for indoor use. Perfectly suited for tile work, cabinets, picture hanging, etc.
Could be used outdoors for a deck or fence, but you would have to mark the lines at dusk/night.
First set of batteries have lasted 8ish hours so far and still going strong.
Cons - Kinda touchy when you are trying to match a mark on the wall across the room. You have to twist it to the right position, let it level out, then keep adjusting till you hit the point. Trial and error. But once its set it stays in position well.
Pros:
1.) The price. This is one of the cheaper levels in this quality range.
2.) The level can be mounted on a standard camera tripod.
Cons:
1.) The laser is not super bright. Does not show up on dark carpet at all. You can see it on a light colored wall about 20 feet away just fine.
2.) Instructions are a joke. Not even written in a language with grammar. Pictographs. Might as well throw them away and just figure it out on your own. The instructions will only make sense after you have figured it out.
3.) The clamp that comes with the level has loose joints. Once you clamp it down and get the laser setup, it starts to sag. Your perfectly positioned horizontal line is no match for gravity and loose clamp joints. One of the knobs designed to tighten and loosen the clamp actually came unscrewed instead of turning the screw it was attached to. I plan to use an actual tripod instead of the cheap clamp thingy.
4.) It will not work upside down or on any of the other 5 sides. It must be right-side-up and within 4 degrees of level in all directions for the "self leveling" to work.
5.) There is no mechanism to re-position the lines (neither horizontal nor vertical). If you want to re-position the lines, you will have to physically move the device while still keeping it within 4 degrees of level.
Overall:
If you want to hang a few picture frames and you live alone or have a great marriage, you might be OK with this. Don't get this for a contractor or a serious handyman. Don't get this for anyone who will use it more than once or maybe twice a year. If you need straight level lines on a regular basis, spend more money and get something nicer.
Edit:
From 3 stars to 4 stars. Works great. Mounted to a camera tripod like I was hoping to. Hung several pictures perfectly level now.
outside, on a very overcast day, at 3 feet - with the "special" red glasses, then I can see a bit of a line.
outside, inside of a carport, I managed to get a line at about 6 feet.

Can not see laser very well in sunlight, but that is not what this is intended for and does not claim to be able to use outdoors in the sun.
A couple negatives. As others have noted while the included clamp while has good range of motion does have a tendency to slip as its almost entirely plastic; I'd personally recommend grabbing a cheap camera tripod should you be using it in an area where that would work for you. Secondly the "lock" function doesn't actually lock the pendulum in place like it does many other cross lasers this makes lining it up off axis a bit annoying as the pendulum can move around inside the unit. In addition in locked mode it will still flash to let you know it is off level, which is also somewhat annoying.
