In non-eco diapers, my husband likes the Target Up and Up. Pampers baby dry did not work at all for our girl (they seemed tiny, and bunched in a way that caused leaks). Huggies work better, and my husband likes the wetness stripe.
If the Earth's Best diapers had a stripe, they would be perfect. I can get this diaper on properly even when my daughter is practically crawling away from me, haha.
Compared to Pampers, these are my conclusions:
OUTSIDE FEEL: Earth's Best diapers feel more stiff when you first touch them. It's just a different type of material than the Pampers. Once you get used to it, you realize it is actually soft to the touch.
ABSORVENCY: Their absorvency is not about chemical gels like conventional diapers, they use wheat and corn. With Pampers, my 6 month old would wake up soaked and even the outside of the diaper would feel wet. With Earth's Best, she wakes up looking like I just changed her. In the days/nights in which she pees a lot in the diaper, you can tell there's pee but it's never wet to the feel.
Tip: Always make sure your baby is centered in the absorvency band and middle of both leg bands. This will help for everything to stay inside.
FIT: They are slightly smaller than the same size Pampers but I personally don't have any complaints with size, at least so far. My baby weighs 17 pounds and #3 fits her perfectly. I may need to jump up a size once she gets to 20+ pounds. Earth's Best also has an elastic in the back that helps keeping everything in; as opposed to Pampers that don't have it making it easier for the poop to go up baby's back.
SMELL: With Pampers, as soon as she would pee, there was a horrendous chemical-pee reaction smell that was very bothersome to me. Those morning diapers were wet and stinky!
With Earth's Best, you don't really smell anything unless there's lots of pee in the diaper, and sometimes even then, you don't smell anything. Most mornings, there's no smell in the diaper from overnight...love it!
When it comes to poopy diapers, my baby is breastfed and there's really no smell to her poop but she just started solids and yes, it smells a bit but what can you expect? It's poop!
PRICE: Pampers is definitely way less expensive than Earth's Best BUT you get what you pay for. The Amazon price discount of 20% makes the price difference minimal (compared to what I used to pay at walmart for Pampers). You definitely use less diapers during the day with earth's Best because the absorbency is so great.
Well, I hope this review has been detailed enough to help you make a decision.
Needless to say, I will continue using Earth's Best diapers for the next baby.
Also, if you calculate how much you are spending per diaper, Earth's best is very reasonably priced compared to all the other name brands.
