Even though I have completed an ACPE/ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Technician program for the past 18 months, this book helped tie everything together and fill in any gaps or confusion. I loved the organization of the drugs classifications and now I have been recommending this book to my fellow classmates who still need to sit for the 2020 PTCB exam.
I really liked the “look inside” of the book to see how the layout was before I purchased the book. That was extremely helpful in helping me making my decision as to which book to purchase too. There are so many out there but not any that are “updated” for the PTCB 2020 which changed on January 1, 2020. This one is “updated” with the 2020 PTCB information.
I passed on the first try!! 😊 I highly recommend this book if you are studying for the 2020 PTCB exam! You will not regret it! You cannot just study for this exam in one or two nights like people on YouTube say they have and passed. I do NOT recommend that at all, it is just too much information. You do have to put the time in studying too.

Note: the mathematical section of this book I didn’t find helpful so I simply went on google and typed in “PTCB math practice problems” and that helped greatly.
However, everything on medication, FDA/DEA, patient quality and assurance, etc was a solid 10/10.
The thing I loved about this book was how thin it is compared to other bulky PTCB study material!
P.S. If you’re taking this exam soon or in the near future, make sure to know FDA/DEA regulations (:
Also, it is important to know the top 200 medications (generic/brand, type, class, etc)
ALSO TAKE THE PRACTICE EXAM OFFERED BY PTCB.ORG (it was exactly like taking the PTCB exam)
GOOD LUCK! (:
I will say that I did fail my PTCB exam, but it was not because of this book.
This book was so well organized, and explained so thoroughly while still being able to understand the information.
I would highly recommended this book to anyone studying for the PTCB or anyone with no prior schooling (please go to school for pharmacy tech before taking the PTCB) this book will help you understand concepts easily!
