I purchased this during their sale. I wanted to become a bit more eco-friendly by getting rid of my razors. For those switching from blades to electric shavers, electric shavers will not let you shave any faster. In fact, if you have a long beard, it will take longer. Why people purchase Electric? Less things to worry about. Things like cuts(only garbage Electric razors less than $30 will cause this), razor burns(possible, but rare), needing/forgetting to purchase refills, etc. Also, only buy name brand Norelco, Braun, and Panasonic are the only ones I can think of on top of my head.
I had a choice, like everyone else, foil or rotary shaver. The difference is mainly on usage
Foil Shavers are for people who have to shave everyday.
Rotary Shavers are for people who rarely shave, possibly once a week.
Construction:
This feels like a very premium shaver compared to the Norelco equivalent I saw on display. I like the finish on the razor and the glass-like coating in the front of the razor. Be warned though, once you place the razor on the counter top, the glass-like coating will get scuffs. Its not noticeable unless you are really looking for it at an angle and its contained where the glass-like material has contact to what ever its place on.
The charging stand is a peace of plastic. Yet, it is very thoughtful of Braun to include one in their cheap line of shavers. Panasonic and Norelco does not include one at all unless you get their premium razors. I use it every day. I wish there was some sort of rubber to prevent it from moving so often, but I am using a small piece of velcro to prevent that. The charging stand plugs into the travel charger that plugs into your standard U.S. wall jack. BE AWARE SOME AMAZON MERCHANTS DO NOT INCLUDE THE CHARGING STAND, VERIFY WITH THEM BEFORE PURCHASING.
The Travel charger is a super inconvenience. It sticks out like its no tomorrow. I had to purchase this https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-PWA-486-5-15R-Right-Angle-Adaptor/dp/B001R0RNWK/ to make it not in my way. The springy cable is nice and flexible, but the brick itself, ugh...
Shave Performance:
I read a lot of reviews on how this shaver can't shave Beards 2-3+ days long. It surely can't because they are using this particular shaver wrong. First off, its a "WET"/Dry, try using some lubricant such as shaving cream. Also, the foils itself can't shave beards that long, that is why when it is that long, you need to use the rear "BEARD TRIMMER" first. Once they are shave down to an appropriate size, use the foil part of the shaver to get your face nice and smooth.
Shave performance is better or at least on par with my Panasonic Wet/Dry shaver I purchased a long time ago. I have had this shaver for nearly a year now and I am still on the same foil it came with and hasn't gotten dull. To reduce wear on your shaver, use a facial lubricant of some kind. If you don't have shaving cream or its too expensive, lather your face with soap and then shave.
Warning: Yes, this is a WET capable shaver, however, its not waterproof as it says. I destroyed my first Panasonic Shaver leaving it too long in water. I opened it up and found rust. If you plan on using it in the shower, try using it without getting it too wet. After you are done shaving, place it in the driest area of your shower. After the shower, clean it in the sink with warm water.
It's not necessary to use the brush, all you need to do is to rinse the heads until most of the hairs are out. Try cleaning your shaver after every shave. After cleaning your shaver in the water in your sink, dry each component with a dry towel. and place it back on the charger after finishing.
Use the oil every month or so to oil the springs and foils on the shaver. Not much oil is needed. Just one drop will do at each area.

Best value in Series 3 product line
Battery has performed exceptionally over the past three months. Single charge is more than adequate for a FULL shave.Designed with solid construction that's easy to clean. Provides a close shave dry and an even remarkably closer shave wet with lubricant, a worthy upgrade from the Braun 3Series 320S-4 Shaver. Both models advertise a waterproof design for easy cleaning, but only the Braun Series 3-340s Wet & Dry Electric Shaver (this product) is recommended for wet shaving. I'm not brave enough to test the lower $60 model in the shower. This is definitely cleaner and more convenient than other electric razors I've owned.Price is a little steep, but by far a better value than the Braun 3Series 380S-4 Wet and Dry Shaver ($80 seems absurd for a travel case, "lockable head" and otherwise identical product). Comes complete with oil and cleaning brush. Clear cover and optional charging stand provide a nice bonus.The top-heavy appearance gave me initial concerns about the device tipping over in the charging stand, but I've yet to knock it over once. Regardless, the charging plug is removable to plug directly into the device if necessary.Shaver has occasionally generated a little heat after excessive use, but not enough to cause burn or real discomfort. My biggest issue is with the replaceable cutter head itself: after three months use, it appears to have dulled somewhat (although it's possible I simply haven't cleaned it regularly enough). Braun recommends changing the cutter every 18 months, but we'll see if that comes sooner.The cutter head also has a tendency to pop off the razor body unintentionally while in dry use, sending hair clippings everywhere. Fortunately, this has been infrequent and only in case when moderate force was applied (trying to get a close shave in a hurry).Overall, a recommendable product worthy of the price (especially if you can catch it on sale).
