First, move the carburetor choke to the left for starting. Press the gas bubble only ONCE, Squeeze and hold the trigger switch. Pull the cord once... but the machine will not start on this pull. Continue to hold the trigger. Move the carburetor switch one notch to the middle position. Pull the cord and the machine will usually start. If the machine does not start, while continuing to hold the trigger switch, move the carburetor switch to the right which is the last click and the machine will start. If the machine does not, start, and this is highly unlikely ... begin the entire process again.
When the machine starts, let it warm up about 30 seconds before going to full speed. Also, if the machine starts on the second carburetor position, after 30 seconds, move the position of the carburetor one click to the right.
The blower is comparable if not better than blowers twice the cost. Don't forget to add oil to the gas. The product comes with you first oil bottle good for your first gallon of gas. After that, you are on your own. I keep the empty oil bottle and use it to measure future oil mixtures because retail oil bottles often come in larger quantities.
It's very easy to start up and use. The instructions are labeled right next to the start / run lever. This is plenty of power for occasional use. I use it to keep the deck around the pool and driveway clear of leaves and blossoms, which we have most of the year. It's very compact and fairly light. This should seem obvious, but it is designed for left handed use. If you have it in your right hand it will suck your clothing into the intake. So don't be that guy, OK?
its cheap
its light
it runs great
Cons:
It blows. Literally and Figuratively
honestly, a rake will do a better job in a shorter time.
If you want to clean your grass, don't buy this. Buy a bigger one. i dont have a big yard, so this works enough for me. Good for corners and places where a rake doesnt fit. it won't get every leaf. you either have to rake after you leaf blow, or leaf blow after you leaf blow.
40:1 fuel/oil ratio. nothing else. it won't run on my weedwacker mix. Now I have 2 gas cans for 2 cycle equipment.
Not sure people are aware that if you use ethanol gas , as it burns IN THE ENGINE it makes acetic acid with water. Count on less than 30-40 hours max from the engine. Hot acid will eat up aluminum internals very fast. Use alcohol free gas on any 2 cycle and extend engine life by twice. Same with even 4 cycle engines but they have cast iron sleeves and last longer
