Product Description

Working demolition, renovation, or landscaping can be near impossible without the help of a powerful reciprocating saw. Ryobi’s P515 is the saw that you need. Whether it’s for cutting branches and drywall or slicing through wood where your circular saw can’t reach, this tool can get it done right. It peaks out at 3,100 reciprocations per minute, which is more than you’ll need for most applications around the house or yard. It is compatible with any T-shaped blade, which can be easily swapped out without the need of a tool. This is a huge plus over competing models that require an allen key to install and remove blades. Being a part of the One+ Family, the P515 is compatible with Ryobi 18V batteries, from the P100 to the P108. You’ll be able to power through your applications comfortably, too, thanks to the anti-vibration handle and rubberized grip. Whether it’s for getting dirty on the demolition site, hacking through pipes for plumbing, or even professional landscaping, you’ll feel like you’re having fun rather than working on a jobsite with all of the power packed into this product. Ryobi means real power with the P515.

I got this for my son and he absolutely loves it. He says it is more than powerful enough for his needs and he loves the interchangeable batteries as he has a few other Ryobi items.

Product works great right out the box. No need to read manuals although you should probably glance over the safety section if you have never operated one of these before. It comes with 2 blades and it's a snap to change. 2 seconds and your done. You do need a battery and if your like me that owns other Ryobi cordless products you probably have. A few laying around. It does the job very well. Highly recommend. I'm sure there might be better ones on the market but I highly doubt at this price point. Unless your a full time construction worker or just like having expensive tools you barely use this product will do the trick.

Every homeowner should have a reciprocating saw. If you are invested in the Ryobi one plus system, this is a must have tool. I've used this for cutting countless numbers of things. Paired with the right blade, I've yet to find a job this saw hasn't worked great for. Even the old yellow NiCAD Ryobi batteries have worked well, though not quite as well their lithium batteries. Overall, this has been one of my favorite tool purchases, and I'm glad I went with this over a corded option or investing in the much more expensive systems from one of the other big names.

My first occasion to use it was to remove silicone caulking from around a window A/C. I won’t use silicone again. But this tool saved me. It knawed it out. Without it I would have never got the caulk out. Love the no cord advantage. I suggest a big battery though. If you plan to use on a tough job. Or many cuts. I don’t like the safety trigger though. Hard to press the safety buttons at odd angles.

When I received the item it was neatly packaged in a sealed plastic bag along with cardboard on the outside. I was taken aback as I was wondering why it didn't come in a new store bought box. I forgot that it was advertised as "BARE TOOL". Thats what it means. I don't know if it was reconditioned. It wasn't advertised as so but if it was you wouldn't know. It looked and smelled brand new and worked just fine. They have newer models that are more powerful and have better battery usage but this was $50 cheaper so it was a no brainer. I'm satisfied.

Do your research before buying ryobi on Amazon. With this saw it was significantly cheaper to buy it on Amazon than from Home Depot. That isn't always true.

Now about the tool. I like it a lot. I am doing a bit of home improvement around my house this summer and this is a real time saver. It is light enough to use comfortably. I like that with one battery (which I received with my drill and driver set) you can use all these tools. Lithium ion is the answer. The blade sits very securely (which is more than I can say about my old saw). The trigger is properly responsive. It makes you feel like a man to saw through things, what more can you ask.

I purchased this primarily to enable me to prune my fruit trees and in only a couple of months it has saved me a lot of time and has made normal pruning chores much simpler and more efficient. It's a snap to insert and remove blades and the saw has plenty of power and run time to cut through several 2" diameter branches. I have yet to drain a battery completely as most cuts take less than a minute. I've not used it to cut through metal, but for basic pruning of fruit trees, this is a great time-saver and allows smoother cuts, too. Recommended.

I found this to be rather bulky. And for it supposedly being anti-vibration, it was not it vibrated just as much or more than my other style Ryobi saw. I returned it. I did not like the size of it, and it did not vibrate any less. And it is only 3 ounces less weight than my other one.

I have had this for several months. It has performed very well with no issues. Roots, limbs, abs pipe... studs... even nails... no issues. Its pretty beat up now but works relentlessly.
