Bought this for my dad for Christmas.  He recently suffered cardiac issues and is focused on his health at the age of 79.  I was worried about it as he's not a "tech" person and it might be difficult, but he LOVES it.  Says its light weight and easy to use.  We linked it to his iPhone and he uses it every day when walking and doing his daily exercise with Mom.

Very user friendly

Bought as a replacement for a different manufacturers watch that was recalled.  Vivoactive Smartwatch is easy to set up and operate.  Screen is easy to read, particularly the main pieces of information.  Operation is intuitive and is easy to synchronize with my smartphone.  Feeding smartphone messages to the watch is helpful particularly when driving.

Does the job

Over the past 22 years I have purchased several different heart monitor watches that were OK but this one has blown my old mind.  I just called Garmin and ordered the heart rate monitor (which the OLD MAN) didn't realize it was included at the sale price.  But it has app's in the watch that help me with everything I do to stay in  physical shape.  And it takes a lot for this 81 year old.  And may I brag a little;  have participated in 12 Senior (Olympic) Games.  Monitoring the heart is essential.  Love this watch!!!!!  Walmart carries this online and are great in delivery and price, my favorite business.

FANTASTIC

I bought a cheaper smart watch to see if I would like it. I did so I popped for the Garmin Vivoactive , and am more than happy with it so far. The battery life is great and it charges very fast. Nifty charger with magnet to hold watch when charging.

All together, I am very satisfied. I do recommend this watch.

Great Buy

Bought this for my daughter. She loves it. Tracks all her activities and sleep patterns.
She loves it and it has encouraged her to become more active than she was. It also has shown her she wasn't getting the deep sleep she thought she was getting. I think this will improve her overall health.

Garmin watch

I had the Garmin vivoactive HR first, and I really like all the functionality, but I have really small wrists and the HR is just too big.  It had too high of a profile.  That's why I switched to this one, since it is so much thinner and more comfortable.  But with the comfort comes a loss of function.  There are far less activities available on this watch, even through the Connect IQ store.  And there are a few less basic functions, such as a timer, on this one.  Also, this one does not count stairs.  However, I found that the HR stair count was usually pretty far off, so not a huge loss there.  In all, this is a great watch for what it is supposed to do.  It works for someone looking for an activity tracker that has GPS capabilities but isn't really training for anything.  If you are training, get a different Garmin watch that's more geared toward that.

Good for its purpose

Miss-leading description makes you think that a heart rate monitor is included but it isn't.  However the product itself functions great is light and I don't mind wearing it.  I haven't worn a watch in a very very long time and this serves that purpose as well as keeping track of all my activity.  I do leave the GPS off to increase battery life.

Excellent item but no heart rate monitor included

It's a great smartwatch when it works. Excellent features, pairs easily with iPhone, upload to Garmin Connect online, excellent mobile app that every Garmin user uses and you can share your data as well. HOWEVER, on day 2 brand new out of the box, the screen froze... I panicked... contacted vendor, contacted Garmin... had to "restart" the watch. Then it work fine... then day 3 it froze several times... mind you when you restart, all data on the watch is gone... the data will remain intact on Garmin Connect though. Anyhow, the vendor that I got it from was so understanding that I sent the watch back and now waiting for a replacement as of 2/16/17.

Period Restart/Frozen Screen out-of-the box

The Garmin is a nice watch but we did end up returning because we purchased the Samsung Gear Fit 2 instead. The Samsung's appearance was better with more capabilities and it was cheaper.

Overall nice watch

The delivery was swift, arrived long before 1st due date however I don't appreciate receiving a used device when I paid for a new one.  With as many scratches it was, it must be at least 6 months worn.
