    Sturdy keyboard with quality issues
Update 3 (Dec 29th 2020)The review will remain at two stars. I actually managed to RMA the keyboard in early 2019. Logitech was helpful and sent me a new keyboard (including the palm rest!) without having to send in the old. With the new keyboard, I thought I would try to keep the brightness on its lowest setting for the keys to avoid burning them out, and letting them turn off whenever I was away from the PC.Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the newer keyboard also started developing the same issues with burnt out blue lights on certain keys. The keyboard is not even two years old, and there are over 25 lights that are malfunctioning already. Additionally, and more importantly, the N-key and spacebar are having mechanical issues with the switches. Sometimes they don't register a key press, and sometimes they register a double key press while only pressing once. I tried cleaning them with compressed air to no avail...I generally like Logitech products, but unfortunately this one is one that I do regret buying... But I still have to give props to their support. I simply didn't bother RMA-ing the keyboard again, because I expect the issues to happen again. I will be looking for another keyboard soon.Update 2 (Jan 3rd 2018):Well... I have to drop this to two stars. It's the lowest I will give this, because from a purely functional perspective the keyboard works fine... But, after 8 months, the amount of LEDs that have failed have simply become too much. It seems to be completely unrelated to key presses. One of the failed keys is the Pause button, which I literally never use. Right now, there are a total of 17 (SEVENTEEN) keys where the blue color simply doesn't work anymore.. That is simply too much for a product that is now barely 8 months old, especially on a relatively expensive RGB keyboard of $130. And two of the remaining keys are also giving signs of failing (tint of "white" is changing). Unacceptable. In the attached images you will see a picture with blue lights setting, clearly showing the dead keys. Another one has the purple setting, which will show the faulty keys as red. I also uploaded a video with the cycling colors so you can see it for yourself.Update (Oct 22nd 2018):The amount of keys that are have a faulty RGB functionally have now increased from two to five. First it was the + key and the L key that were not able to display blue... We can add the T, X and P keys to that list now. That is now 5 keys in 5 months... The O key is also showing signs of the blue color failing. The "white" color starts to become a greenish tint... Next month it will likely have failed... Seems to be an average of one dead blue light per month. Will remain three stars for now, but will have to drop it if these keep failing.Original review (17 Sep 2018, 3 stars):When I received this keyboard, I was very impressed. Keys feel great, palm rest is extremely comfortable, RGB is beautiful, software is great. No complaints at all.Now 4 months have passed, and my spacebar is starting to act a bit weird. If not pressed exactly in the middle, it can become stuck to one side, required me to manually pull it up. Worst case involves removing it completely and resetting it, so it works normally for a while, until it becomes stuck again. Then there's the RGB keys. The + key and the L key, for some reason stopped being able to produce any blue light. They can display all other colors, but become black whenever blue is required. Only colors that use exclusively red and green can be displayed by these keys. The other keys still have their RGB working normally. For this price, I find it a shame that after so little time, the keyboard is developing these issues. Normally I have no issues with Logitech products, and have bought quite a few. Sadly, this one's quality is not up to expectation... It's a great keyboard, when it works.

    Pros:
    - High build quality
    - Very heavy and sturdy
    - Good Alternative to Cherry MX switches
    - Shorter travel key distance
    - Easy to use keybinding software that is optional
    - Quieter

    Cons:
    - No satisfying click to key presses
    - Keys are stiff right out of the box. Have to break in the keys.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Detailed Experience:
My review is based on the Romer-G tactile version of the G513.
I have been in search of an alternative to the traditional Cherry MX mechanical keys. I thought I found it with the Razer Ornata. I loved the shorter travel distance, the satisfying click and thud of key presses. The problem with that keyboard was having to use Razer software. After a one particular firmware update they bricked my keyboard and they couldn't fix it because the model version was too old/out of warranty. So I had to scarp it.

I replaced my Ornata with the G513. Out of the box you will instantly notice the build quality is amazing. Brushed aluminum body, strong, no wobble and very heavy. Also an unnecessarily thick braided cable. Then comes Logitech's Romer-G keys. It took me about 3 weeks to get used to the keys. I love the short travel distance. But there is no satisfying click at the point of actuation. Bottoming out feels better than with Cherry MX keys and the spring back is faster. But I found Razer's Mecha-Membrane switch to just feel better to press. If the Romer G tactile switch had a more noticeable click this keyboard would be perfect.

Another important factor to mention is it took me 2 weeks to break this keyboard in. The keys as very stiff out the box. As you use this keyboard the key presses become more smooth and responsive. Once you've broken the keys in typing will become much easier because the keys will spring back up quicker, allowing you to be able to type faster. So don't judge the feel of the Romer-G keys from your experience right out the box.

But the best thing about this keyboard is Logitech's software. Easy to you and the keyboard has on-board memory so you don't have to constantly have it running in the background and during startup.

A remarkably solid and easy to type on keyboard. There's little I can complain about here for the price I paid.

The weight is good, and in combo with the rubber feet the keyboard stays put. This is saying something because I can sometimes be a very energetic typer.

Unlike another Logitech keyboard I was considering the formatting on the keys is more standard. By which I mean that the shift mode functions, letter or symbols are ABOVE the default for each key.

For who knows what reason, a lot of gaming keyboards seem to put the shift mode function symbol or letter next to or BELOW the default key designation. As a mostly competent touch typist this can be a minor annoyance, but for keys and symbols I don't use regularly I sometimes need to spot check, and weird keycap formatting can annoy me.

As someone who last bought a gaming keyboard 15 years ago (Original G15,) this keyboard is better for my usecase in almost everyway, minus one: the lack of a volume control wheel. This isn't to say that the media controls on the keyboard are bad. They work great, especially if you are willing to make use of the Inverted Function key mode provided in the software. This sets the media controls and lighting controls as always on unless the FN key on the bottom row is held down, which is the opposite of the default control.

All I wanted from the lighting was something just bright enough to see under my monitor when I have the lights in my gaming room down low. Instead I got a surprisingly fun set of animations that I actually make use of.

Lastly, compared to my last keyboard, this looks very easy to clean. Consider me a fan of the floating key design.
Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2019
I love that only the keys light up and not the underside. it is very responsive, nice feel and not too loud. I can tell when I am typing but not like the blue switches, those are LOUD. I love that when in gaming mode the lights/colors auto change.
It has nice weight, is sturdy and easy to take compressed air to dust clean.
I got used to the volume controls quick.
the software makes it super easy to change colors on a per app scheme.

cons- the finger 'bumps' on the f & j keys are not easily felt and I found my hands on the wrong keys. I used the replacement ASD keys because they feel different.

for a keyboard it is pricey, but it will last me for years. I work and game. you can't game on a wireless keyboard. It has one USB port on the right back for a mouse (or whatever you want). EVERY key is programmable and can be changed automatically when you launch an app.
You like MS Excell, color code it how you use it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Keyboard For Gaming
Reviewed in Canada on January 13, 2020
I bought this keyboard after a while of having a membrane keyboard because most of my friends recommended I get one and I saw that this was on sale. So I decided to give mechanical keyboards a try and I ordered it and let me start off by saying it is a great upgrade and my main concern was that it would be too loud but it showed up and when I tried it out it was actually a lot quieter than I thought it would be. The wrist wrests it came with is also extremely comfortable and is not as mushy as I thought it would be. The gaming aspect of the keyboard is also amazing because it is very responsive and the keys are all very well spaced apart. The last aspect that is amazing is the RGB if you are looking for a keyboard that is not too insane on the RGB than this is perfect but if your looking for something that is insane when it comes to the RGB this is not a suitable option for you but personally I find it very balanced.

Realmente me surpreendeu bastante.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great build, nice key actuation. Quiet mechanical option.

Love it. Upgrade from plastic Gigabyte kb, worlds apart. Excellent build quality, nice deep key travel although a little surprised at the amount of float. I guess that's the style of the tactile option i went for (wanted quietest option). Still louder than a regular membrane kb but ok for bedroom next door.

RGB lighting is a bit over the top but totally customisable for gaming.

Only 4 stars as no dedicated media keys but can live without. Additional deep profile keys a great addition, installed immediately 👍

I love MX brown switches and these remind me of them. My old keyboard, a logitech 710+, finally started having a few issues after 5 years or so of heavy use. I saw this one on sale for 99$ and I am glad i picked it up. The included wrist pad is a extremely well made and really comfortable. The typing on this keyboard is excellent as well. A subtle tactile feedback with smooth and quite keys. Would highly recommend.
