Publisher's summary

My family is everything to me.

When my life was ripped away from me, I found them.

Silas, Gabriel, and Baron—my hearts, my family, my home.

Together, we’re a dangerous family of assassins, but I’ve never been happier.

Until a member of our family goes missing.

He went out for a simple job and never came back.

Now it’s up to Baron, Silas, and I to bring him home—but what if he doesn’t want to be found?

What if the family he’s found is better than the one we have here?

And what if I find myself caught up in their web of lies while becoming strangely drawn to someone I shouldn’t be?

All I know is that I can’t live without my family, and I’ll do anything to keep them safe.

Even if that means facing the truth.

We’re nothing if we’re not together—all of us.

Five is the second book in the Black Hearts Duet. It's recommended to listen to Four first.

Fantastic story!

I have eyeball read and listened to the audio for both Four + Five and absolutely love them! Five is the continuation of Four and I loved everything about it! I especially liked listening to the audio. The narrators did an amazing job. There’s plot twists you don't see coming! And of course top tier spice 🤌

What a Story!!

Oh my word, this book!! It was simply everything and I wish I could have more!! Sara Cate and Rachel Leigh delivered one heck of a story. I loved how there was never a dull moment. Iris, Silas, Baron and Gabriel are taking on a journey of twists anc turns no one could ever see coming! This baby was piping freaking haaaawt! Allie Piper and Blake Lockhart helped truly bring the story to life!

Missing parts on the audio

The audio has multiple gaps throughout the book. The performance is good but you don’t know how much your missing in the blank spaces.

More Black, More Hearts

This one was just as intense as the first one. Everyone is in the groove of their new lives.
When Gabriel leaves for a job, it could change all of their lives forever.
This was hot and angsty! There was chemistry ad sass and a lot of action.

More Black Hearts Greatness~Amazing Story & Listen

Iris, Silas, Gabriel and Baron’s story began in “Four”, the first book of Sara Cate’s “Black Hearts” duet, and wow, what a story it was, a not to be missed story. This book picks up soon after that one ended, and everything was falling in place for Iris and her men. A job request comes in for the trained assassins, one that raises flags for Silas and puts him on alert. Gabriel, who is still a hot-head, goes rogue and takes the job, anyway. Silas was right about something not being right and Gabriel walked right into a trap and has not been seen or heard from since. The Blacks are determined to find and rescue him, though not fast enough for Iris, who has her own plans to bring him back home. Keeping the review spoiler free, I loved how it all played out and the meaning behind the title and what it meant by the end. The writing, plotting and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Holy moly, there is never a dull moment in this book, the twists and turns were absolutely amazing, the drama non-stop, emotions run high and the steam and sexy times were smoking hot. Sara Cate, thank you for the incredible story, exciting journey and thrilling ride. I hope this isn’t the last we see of these characters and the intriguing world you created.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Allie Piper continues to knock this series out of the park. Blake Lockheart joins her and is equally amazing at bringing the characters to life, humanizing them with their own distinct personality. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, Piper’s Iris has come a long way since the beginning, her confidence continues to grow. Lockheart fell into his roles with ease and made them his own. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These natural talents are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Amazing second book for Black Hearts!

If I thought I enjoyed Four, I was completely wrong, because Five blew me out of the water. I enjoyed the multiple POV the authors incorporated into this book and the addition of the male narrator to voice the men of the series. The storyline gripped me from start to finish and I loved every minute of it. Sara Cate and Rachel Leigh did such an incredible job of bringing the characters and storyline to life. The spicy parts were also very good as well!

Five

Sara Cate and Rachel Leigh bring us back to Iris and the Blacks. Silas, Baron, and Gabriel! You must read Four before this book, as we get to know all of these characters in it.

When one of the Black crew does a job without a back up some crazy things happen. Iris and the other guys will do anything to get him back.

We find out secrets about one of the Black's past. Will the Black's be able to recuse their missing family member before it's too late? Will the other members lives become in jeopardy trying to save them. When Iris meets someone else will the other members be ok if she wants him to join their crew?

I loved every minute of this book I loved getting to know Iris and all of the Black's in the first book, but I really enjoyed getting to see their lives again!

Good storyline!💜

As stated in my review for book 1; I enjoyed the overall storyline. I admit that RH is not my favorite genre and here’s why.
While I love sex as much as the next person, I believe a book should tell a a story and not just be about sex all the time. I know what you’re thinking… it’s a RH there’s bound to be a lot of sex. That’s true, I expect it even, however, there is a time and place for sex. And when people are shooting at you or you are hiding from someone who wants to kidnap you (examples only. Not necessarily from this book) that is not the time to get into it. Or at least it shouldn’t be lol. Most RH’s are like this. That’s okay, that’s what readers expect and that’s why it’s not my favorite genre. Whew, having said all that… the sex was on fire. The men were HAF and I loved the actual storyline. I also loved how the men weren’t automatically drawn to her and she didn’t like them either. That was refreshing from what I’ve read in other RH’s. In this book I found her to be more like a little whore than in book 1. Maybe it’s just me but she was ready to kill a woman in book 1 just for flirting with one of her guys and yet…. (No spoilers lol)
The performances by both narrators was fantastic! They portrayed the characters’ emotions brilliantly.
This was book 2 in a duet series with and HEA.
