-Front cover comes off and comes with one 140mm fan and can accommodate two 140mm fans or two 120mm fans and has intake filters. (Filters in the front of case require a little effort to take out and clean, or you could just blow them out).
-Clear side does not come equipped with fans but is ready to take on dual 140mm or 120mm fans.
-The back of the case is equipped with a 120mm exhaust fan that could easily be adapted for a 120mm water cooled radiator.
-The top of the case is fully vented and does not come with fans but can take either two 140mm or 120mm fans. This gives you the option of also running a dual 140mm water cooled radiator as well. [Running a fan towards the front on top could pose an issue installing an optical drive in the top 5.25 drive bay].
-Very nice easy to pull out power supply filter on the bottom of the case.
-Everything is thumb screws and does not require screws to hold drives in place but does give you the option to use screws if you prefer.
-The right side of the case when pulled off gives you easy cable management space to run all your power cables in thus allowing the best possible airflow in your case (no obstructions). There is also a very large opening on the back to access the back of the cpu on the mother board making it easier if you are working with a larger heat-sync.
-The first build I did with this case only had one hard drive so I pulled all the other drive bays out to allow more airflow from the front intake fans.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for an inexpensive case this is a very good case to work with, plenty of room, no sharp edges to cut yourself with, and is very inexpensive. I like it. If you do not desire the clear sided window you can save some money and buy the same case that does not have the window with the same features. I am just very impressed for a case in this price range and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to save money and not sacrifice quality.
Pro's:
1. The case fans, while being only 3 pin, are quiet and do a good job of regulating heat (specifically the front 140mm intake fan).
2. Dust filter on the bottom for the psu. 3 dust filters in the front of the case. A big one for the front-center and 2 slim front-side filters. The psu and front-side filters can be slid out for easy cleaning. The front-center filter comes off with the front panel but is otherwise connected to it and can't be removed, though some canned air gets the job done.
3. No disk/harddrive caddies taking up space in the front-middle of the case. This allows for any super long graphics card to be easily installed and gives case great air intake from the the front 140mm fan.
4. The bottom of the case is elevated about an inch off the ground with 4 rubber-soled legs, allowing more cool air to filter up through the case.
5. Bottom air holes perfectly set up for long psu's.
6. The inside of the case has enough room to easily plug the dreaded 8 pin cpu connector in through the top, above the mobo while allowing enough room for a fan to be installed directly above.
7. It's sturdy enough that I haven't noticed any vibration noise and that's with the case being less that a foot away from me on top of my desk.
Con's:
1. The two fan mounts on the windowed side panel obstruct almost a third of the panel. Even without fans installed the honeycomb design covers the middle area of the window making it hard to view through that part.
Other Thoughts:
1. Simple, elegant look to the case might be a turn off for some.
2. Grommet's not included.
3. No fan control built into the case for those wanting it.
Pros:
-Large for a mid-size but not too large
-Great air flow
-Magnetic dust filter for PS
-Tool-less cages for optical drives and hard disks
-Cable management is simple
-Dual removable sides for easy build and cable management
-Motherboard cutout for repair/replacement of heatsink without removal of motherboard
Cons:
-A little hard to get side panels off
-Stock fans are a little flimsy
-Fan install screws strip easily
The beef I have with mid-size cases are that they are kind of a pain to work in. I however don't like full towers because they are just too big. Unless you are building the end all of all rigs, you really don't need a full tower. This case is nice because it's not huge but it gives you enough room to put everything in without breaking/cutting your hands.
I really like the airflow. It comes with a 140mm fan for the front intake and a 120mm as an exhaust but you can put in another in the front, 2 more on the top, and 2 on the sides. Except for the back exhaust, all the other fan locations can fit either 120 or 140. If I had known this I would have gotten all 140's but whatever. Compared to my old case, which was kind of a bargain hunter case that only had 3 spots for 80 mm fans, this is way better. My entire system sits 10-15 degrees cooler at idle and the GPU stays 10 deg C cooler than before when under extreme duress.
Installing everything was pretty easy. There are basically 3 holes in the motherboard tray so you can run cables out one and back in through another to make cable management pretty simple. No stupid rubber things to get in the way or fall off so it's nice and easy. The double removable sides were so nice during all of this as you can get your hands in to wherever they need to be without an issue. They were kind of hard to get off but other than that, they were great.
The tool-less design is great albeit a little different from what I have seen. The drives sit sideways from what you normally see in a standard case. It makes it easier to install/ swap out drives and everything. This would be annoying if the other side was not removable but since it is, I really like it. The optical drive is held in place by a weird clip thingy. I didn't really like the design that much but it will be fine, and it beat screwing it into place. There is room for 3 optical drives and 4 HDDs. The trays will fit SSD drives only with a resizing bracket that usually comes with the drive anyway. The trays for the hard disks are pretty flimsy so you can pop the drive into them, but once in place they stay put. You may want to pick up some SATA cables that have a 90 degree angle connector on one end since the connectors for the drives sit pretty close to the side panel because of the sideways orientation.
The only beefs I had with this case were that the mounting screws for the fans were made out of pretty crappy metal that is really soft. They strip way too easy. I was being pretty careful and still stripped like 4 of them just trying to get them in. I ended up just using the ones that came with the extra fans that I bought.
The case does look pretty nice. It isn't fancy but really for $80 dollars I am very pleased.
While researching for cases I often read that the case arrived damaged or the packaging was just destroyed. Mine came in a huge box that looked a little beat up, but the actual case was inside another box that was pristine. As far as I can tell, no damage.
I recommend this if you are looking for a budget gaming case that can fit a pretty big GPU (or two) and still want some features of a higher end case. Good buy even with the tiny faults.
