Wow is what I can say first of all!
This pedal is absolutely amazing, and the price-point is incredible for what you get in return. I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on delay pedals in the past, and hands down, this is the best sounding small stomp box I've found. Because of it's size, you do lack a battery compartment, and options like tap tempo, but you can hit up its big brother for that option. For a micro-pedal, it's amazing.
The different delay modes on this pedal are fantastic, with the analog, tape, and real echo (almost a digital sound)...there are plenty of options that allow you to dial in your sound and spectrum of delay. (5ms-780ms huge range of options) The casing is hardened steel, so it's tough as nails..the paint is superb, and the footprint of this lil guy is awesome!
I could run through more specs, as listed on a ton of reviews, but if you're like me, you look up videos and want live reviews, in addition to written ones. You absolutely can't go wrong with this pedal. I purchased this one to go on my acoustic pedalboard, and I am incredibly satisfied. Do yourself a favor and snatch one up today...price is going up on this amazing boutique pedal every day!
There's plenty of time available in this box too, and the number of repeats and feedback go all the way from a subtle doubling effect, all the way to mayhem and destruction. The price is unbeatable too.
First of all, while I knew that this pedal would be smaller than average, I was surprised by how small it actually is when I pulled it out of the box and held it in the palm of my hand. It's about the size of a harmonica. Despite it's size, it does not feel cheaply made. Construction is very solid and typical of more expensive pedals. I expect it to be reliable for gigs.
The downside of the unusual size is that you can't use a 9-volt battery and must provide your own power supply. I have an extra 1-spot, so that wasn't a problem. I don't know why anyone would want to use a battery for a digital delay anyway since you'd probably have to replace it almost every day. The 1-spot would pay for itself in a month or less.
Another potential problem with the size is that if you put too many of these pedals close together on a pedal board, it would be hard to avoid stepping on more than one of them at a time. No big deal, but something to consider if you plan of putting a bunch of them near each other on your board.
The delay sounds good, and is pretty easy to tweak. The "time" control is a large chicken head-type knob, while the volume and feedback are much smaller, and not quite as easy to use on the fly. The design assumes that you will set these at a static setting and tweak the time length of the delay more frequently. A toggle switch allows you to change between three different delay types, which some people might appreciate. Versatility is a plus.
While I wasn't "blown away" by this pedal, I will say that it easily meets my needs and expectations, and I look forward to buying a few more Mooer pedals in the next few months. For the price, it is well worth it. However, if you are looking for something with a long delay time, looping capabilities, and lots of features, you might want to invest in a more sophisticated, more expensive pedal.
This pedal added beautiful versatile echoing sound to my effects loop. It worked for 3 months of on and off use.
After 3 months, it started to make a nasty background buzzing noise. I tried swapping out 9v connectors and changing wiring configurations etc. Bottom line, whenever the pedal was turned on (no matter what settings) it would make that annoying buzzing sound.
I have since removed this pedal from my loop and am now using my amp's delay. I miss using this pedal but I can't stand noisy feedback. This pedal had to go.

I used the Mooer Ana Echo for a few gigs and was highly impressed and then tried the MDD1. I bought the MDD1 because it has the old tape echo sound, which is very good indeed and which I need for the music I play, mostly 50's and 60's.
Trying to get an old Copicat or Binson is nearly impossible now, this pedal comes very close indeed, and is very compact. Also, being solid state, has none of the vices of the old mechanical units.
There are three modes on this pedal, Analogue, Real and Tape Echo. The Anologue echo is similar to the Mooer Ana Echo; the Real echo has an interesting "spacey" sound. For me the Tape Echo is what I was seeking, it has the mild sonic imperfections of an old mechanical unit, without the hassles.
A winner.
