Simone Freier's Latest Is Another Winner

When the "Experiences" saga began we met Kelly and Sam. They were a couple who you think just could never get together. After all, she was 24 and Sam was bordering 50; she had known Sam's boys when they were kids and played soccer and Sam was a friend of her parents. Their coming together just didn't seem to be in the cards.

Well, the cards didn't play out that way. After a party at which they became reacquainted, it was inevitable. Sam and Kelly just started talking and one thing led to another and they hit it off. Actually, they more than hit it off and they came together in a most unusual way. Sam had more than a little interest in playing sexual games (actually Bondage Dominance Sado-Masochism) and Kelly, it turned out, had more than just a passing interest in herself.

Drawn together by their mutual interest, Sam and Kelly's relationship started to grow. In a relatively short space of time, their relationship deepened to trust and beyond to love.

Kelly and Sam have been together for some time now and for her birthday Sam promised Kelly, among other things, a trip to Europe. This is the canvas upon which author Simone Freier paints the latest installment of this series, "European Experiences." First, though, Freier tidies up one leftover from "Birthday Experience," the preceding piece of this puzzle, Kelly and Sam's relationship with Julie. Freier does the tidying quite nicely, in a way that is likely to come up in a later offering in this serious.

Tidying up finished, Kelly and Sam get ready for and take their trip. During the trip, Sam shows Kelly sites that aren't in most Fodor travel guides. The sites Sam chooses are definitely far off the normal beaten tourist path and include spots that Sam had earlier shared with his late wife Margaret. Along the way, they spend time with and share intimacies with Henk/Helga, a straight man with cross-dressing on his mind and Zoe, his bi-sexual partner. The trip also finds them having more than a few mind-bending experiences.

Through it all, the one constant that has remained is their common interest in BDSM. Here's the thing about it, though, it isn't gratuitous. It takes a strong author to create a wild scene, using BDSM as the plot hook, while never letting the prop overpower the story. Freier's skill as an author shines in these scenes where it is also too easy to rely on the sexual play going on rather than showing the human side of this equation. Instead, though, the author uses her considerable skill to keep the fine balance needed to keep the story balanced.

Like an artist adept at using light and shadow to enhance a painting, Freier has skillfully woven a tale that highlights the continued deepening of their commitment as it goes through all of the halting steps that relationships take as they continue to evolve. At this point in the maturing relationship, author Freier has brought his main characters inching toward a deep commitment.

I suspect that an author of Freier's caliber has some interesting surprises in store for her readers in the next installment of the "Experiences" saga. It should be out soon and I am looking forward to read it.

Book Review originally published here: http://www.iheartreading.net/book-tou...

I’ve read several books in the Experiences series now, and I’ve got to say, European Experience is my favorite so far. At the start of the series, Kelly and Sam were two characters who seemed an almost impossible distance away from each other, with Kelly being decades younger than Sam. Now, at the start of this book, the two are so close, so intimate, the reader almost starts to feel jealous. The connection between the two of them is not just physical, it’s spiritual, mental, a higher state of connecting than most people usually experience in their life.

At the start of the book, Kelly meets up with her girlfriends, who she shared a special experience with on her twenty-fifth birthday, which she won’t forget soon. If you want to know more about that, I recommend reading Birthday Experience, the previous book. Either way, some issues are resolved – as in, will things be awkward now between them after what happened? Luckily, the answer is no, so Kelly can be rest assured before she leaves on a trip through Europe with Sam.

One of the most interesting experiences in the book happens when the two of them go to the Netherlands. First of all, I loved this part because it focuses on some specific Dutch words and foods (like “frikandellen”), which we say in Belgium too. It was great to see something like that in an English book. Even though some writers write about traveling, and even include Belgium or the Netherlands during their characters’ travels, few mention the Dutch language and customs. But Simone Freier is an excellent author, detailed and thorough, and the way she described those scenes, I could picture myself right there with Sam and Kelly.

Of course, apart from the ordinary scenes where they’re eating local food and diving into local customs, there are several hot and sexy scenes during the book as well. Going on a trip and visiting some of Sam’s friends means Kelly has to broaden her horizon even more, and get different perspectives on things. I also liked Henk and Zöe, two of Sam’s friends. They formed an intriguing pair, and had an unique and interesting relationship and a lot of respect for each other. In several ways, they reminded me of Sam and Kelly, but they were different at the same itme as well.

European Experience is my favorite installment in this series. It’s now clear that Sam and Kelly have a special emotional bond, and yet at the same time, on a sexual level, they connect well too. I can’t wait to see what happens next for these two.

`I lay next to Sam thinking of Europe.'

Simone Freier was a nurse prior to her becoming an author. One of her pet peeves is reading erotica that gets simple anatomy wrong! She is continually bewildered by women who haven't explored their own bodies. Another pet peeve is the mostly hung-up Victorian society prevalent in the U.S., and she tries her hardest to change that by introducing people to new sexual and sensual experiences through her erotic writing. The activities in Simone's books are quite realistic, as she has participated in most of these in 'real life', as surreal as it may seem. Reading her new works certainly adds respect for her talent as a writer of erotic literature. And just as foreplay is the key to satisfying sex, Freier starts this her second book in a series of books labeled EXPERIENCES with some well written suggestive but not pornographic storyline. Once the reader catches the drift of her intent the urge is to stay with the book to see how far she will escort us into the world of sexual fetishes.

The subtitle of this Book 5 of the Experiences Series EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE is `Subspace and Love on a Visit to Europe' and for the further appreciation of Freier ever growing writing skills the reader should become familiar with the term `subspace': Subspace, in BDSM, a psychological state that can be entered by the submissive participant. It is evident that Freier wants to expand our knowledge of her erotica as we follow her stories. Book 5 follows the very popular BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE not only in sequence but also as the important opening chapters of this volume. We are reminded (or rather `re-live') Kelly's twenty-fifth birthday to which Sam invited a few of her friends and introduces those friends to his repertoire of unusual boundary pushing sexual experiences, for Kelly, too, of course, but also for Kathy, Julie and Linda to join in the sensual games. As Kelly states, `I suddenly cracked up, shocking my friends. "Sam is a `perfect gentleman'. Who throws skinny-dipping parties with young women, ties them to a turntable and spanks them, and visits each one at night to make sure they're sexually satisfied." I looked around the table, and we were hysterical again. Linda poured the rest of the margaritas into our glasses, and we toasted to Sam: A creative, kind, and thoughtful person, if not more than a little perverted. But he was my perverted gentleman. I was proud of Sam, and very glad that my friends approved of him. I guess that would be an understatement. Sam was really hung-up on the issue of STDs. My friends and I were healthy; we had annual checkups and our doctors would have told us, if we were infected. Of course, there might be some risk - but there's risk in everything: Our plane to Europe could go down, and my brilliant future career would be snubbed before it got going; and here (as the chances of one of us having HIV was virtually nil), Sam was talking about the risk of getting some genital warts!' This well-considered introduction is a `refresher course' on all the idiosyncratic variations on the theme of BDSM so that we are ready for this book.

Sam takes Kelly on her first trip to Europe, sharing some special places that are not on the typical tourist route. As Kelly states, `It was going to be an incredible trip. Not just seeing some great cities of the world; or the geography - including some famous mountains and famous rivers; or the incredible art and museums. As Sam had explained to me, and I was now fully realizing, we would be visiting some `special' places, and doing some things that furthered our journey of openness and sexual exploration. As well as experiencing a few different segments of European culture.' The trip includes experiences in Amsterdam (with side bars concerning one Henk, and Zoë who surprise them with a `coming out' party, and Kelly is introduced to a world of sexuality that she had not imagined), Belgium, Germany and the Oktoberfest love fest, Zurich, Switzerland and the Matterhorn, Paris, London (and the mistress with the needles) then home. Sam and Kelly reach a new level of shared experiences and love for each other.

For many of her readers this will be Simone Freier's best book of the series, but there is another in the offing (FRIENDS' EXPERIENCE) so delay voting for now. Simone Freier has the world of erotica down pat. The book is rather lengthy and the description of some of the interplay can become repetitive, but the special aspect of the story is that we recognize and like the characters as people. These are not tropes used like tools - these are people about whom we care. And THAT is fine writing from an author who knows her genre.

I have read all of the Experience novels up to this one, and I have to say, with each book the story and the relationships just get better and better. In European adventure we find Kelly and Sam after Kelly’s 25 birthday party getting ready for their trip to Europe. Before the leave Kelly has to make sure that things with her friends aren’t awkward because of the new experiences that Kelly and Sam exposed her friends to at her birthday party. Freier delivers another knock-out romp, but with the setting changed to Europe, the feel and the shape of the experiences changes entirely from the earlier books in the series. Sam and Kelly continue to surprise readers with the ever-deepening intimacy of their relationship, without becoming repetitive or too hung up on the romantic side of their passion for one another. The fast-paced erotic scenes are intense and exhilarating, revealing much more about the intricacies of alternative lifestyles than some of the other mainstream sexual thrillers that have become all the rage in recent literary history. Freier doesn't hold back either, knowing that her loyal readers are expecting a no holds barred adventure through the depths of sexual expression and personal exploration. I've read all of Freier's books to this point, and I was eagerly awaiting this one. As a frequent European wanderer, I could put myself in their shoes; I knew clubs and parties just like the ones detailed so wonderfully in the book. I understood the cultural obstacles that Kelly had to overcome and the intimidation that can sometimes come with new, exciting, and challenging experiences. Somehow, Freier continues to expand this sexual world in new and unexpected ways, a trajectory that I hope continues as the series moves forward.

The line between love and Dark BDSM

Sam and Kelly have connected in a way that most would find dark or disturbing, but it's their ability to both try new things, even dark things that some would find taboo. Sam helps Kelly
explore herself, and explore with him, as he is her dominant, but there's a side to Sam, that
allows himself to be on the other side. This book is very well written and shows, rather than
tells about the bond between Sam, though he is a lot older, and Kelly. The experiences have allowed them to fall in love and take each other to places where no one else could, even when they bring in others for their play time. I highly recommend the entire series, but should warn that there is a lot of dark play, such as BDSM medical play and branding. I think this is the best one of the series.

Taking a trip after Kelley's birthday Sam take Kelley on a journey that he had traveled with his wife. Learning more about each other and their lives together and they grow more in their sexual passions with BDSM. This book is truly about how a a couple that are so far apart in age can find things that are compatible in both their sex lives and personal. They share more than just sex which makes this book what you would want to read. I mean a book that explores the natural progression of a couple that should never have been, but make you love them even more as they show you why they are meant for each other.
They meet more friends along they way and share more passionate trysts and pushing the boundaries. An easy read that will keep you enraptured.

50 Shades of Gray has nothing on the Experiences book series by author Simone Freier! In European Experience, the latest in the series, deep into the alternative lifestyle at this point, Sam and Kelly explore the outer limits of their personal boundaries. The erotic passages are certainly to make the hair on your neck stand straight up.
For the right reader with the slightest curiosity about the life, Freier provides a serious jolt of realism. The books are raw and gritty, leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination. A cold shower isn’t a bad thing, after finishing one of these stories. 5 stars!

In Europe Experience, the latest in the Experiences book series, Sam and Kelly take their erotic lifestyle on tour, with a few surprises that deepen their bond with each other. In the Netherlands, at a “coming out party”, the intensity level is upped as cultural nuances make for another interesting and erotic adventure.
If you’ve read any of the other novels, you understand the sizzling titillations contained within. If you haven’t, get ready. It’s definitely a novel for mature audiences only. Some of the material could make the sensitive reader uncomfortable. Very graphic in detail, but a great read nonetheless. Exciting read!

The fifth experience starts off with Sam surprising Kelly with a trip to Europe. Each one of these novels is more exciting and fun filled then the next. I love that Simone isn’t afraid to express herself through Sam and Kelly and I love the ever changing adventures.
This adventure gets hot and heavy when they meet up with a friend of Sam’s. He shows them the whole new sexual world of dominatrix.
Simone captures the reader’s attention every time. All her descriptions are accurate and spot on to any man or woman’s desires. Another amazing read and normally a series hits its peak, but not the Experience series. This will only get better and better. Keep it up.

If you enjoy a great and unexpected relationship with some kink then you will enjoy the entire Experience series. European Experience by Simone Freier is the 5th novel in the Experience series and so far it is my favorite. I have always loved the idea of travelling and this book gives me a glimpse of what it would be like to explore amazing places in Europe. In addition the travel, I enjoyed watching Kelly and Sam’s relationship develop further as they explored. I also enjoyed how the inclusion of others both expanded the plot and helped Sam and Kelly grow as a couple.
