    Bought it 5 years back. Still using it. Even the battery is still good. It doesn't have survival screen. Only one cross type autofocus point. But still it is a very capable camera.     Looks refurbished. And not smoothly glued on the grip area close to the switch. Charger not working. Battery is a expanded.but works ok. Lense is louder than normal. Feels very light and it keeps falling down in front with the weight of the stock lense. It doesnt get flat on surface. Eye piece is also broken. But again. As a camera it works as it should. I hope.it dont die soon.

    Also ich bin sicher ein Fotolaie. Aber ich habe mit der EOS 300, die ich seit sie auf dem Markt ist, sehr gute Fotos gemacht und war immer ein Canon-Fan. Ixus in diversen Variationen folgten.
    Nur keine digitale Spiegelreflexcamera.
    Nun habe ich den Markt sehr lange verfolgt und mit der 500D hat sich Canon wohl viele Anhänger vergrault. Obwohl sicher eine gute Kamera, gab es bessere und preiswertere.

    Nun war ich immer wieder hin und hergerissen. Nikon, Pentax oder Panasonic...
    Dann kam die 550D auf den Markt vor einigen Wochen. Tests durchweg positiv und die Videofunktion deutlich verbessert, aber was war mit dem Fotografieren. Immer noch das leidige Rauschen und die übertriebenen Farben, wie bei der 500D??

    NEIN. Das beste, was man unter 1000 Euro erwarten kann. Klasse.

    Kaum Rauschen bis ISO 6400. Die Farben ein Traum. Selbst in der vollautomatik ohne Nachbearbeitung. Super.
    Sie löst schnell aus denke unter einer drittel Sekunde selbst mit Liveview.
    Einschaltzeit, man merkt keine Verzögerung, so schnell kann man nicht mal das Bild anvisieren.

    KIT Objektiv, mit dieser Camera besser als der Ruf. Reicht für Macro Aufnahmen anfangs locker aus. Denke zum warmwerden mit der Camera ideal. Und sehr leicht. Leichter Kritikpunkt. Im manuellen Focus etwas leicht drehbar...

    Blitz ausreichend bis 5m...Für mehr sollte ein Metz AF 44 oder mehr her, denke auch für Familienfeiern etc.

    Tja die Bedienung ist Canon-Like. Wenn man einmal eine Spiegelreflex von Canon hatte, ist es quasi gleich.

    Und ein Schmankerl ist der Bildschirm 3 Zoll und 1 mio pixel. Grandios. Das habe ich so nicht gesehen bisher. Leider immer noch nicht schwenbar, fände ich gut auch wegen dem Schutz beim Transport.
    Aber so was von Farbtreu und hell.

    Was fehlt noch, der Akku hält ewig, erst wollte ich einen zweiten aber ich denke 1000 Auslöser bekommt der locker hin. mit Blitz vllt weniger aber ist vollkommen ausreichend. Schnell geladen, ca. 1,5 Stunden. Dann ist er voll.

    Software ist naja nicht so recht zu gebrauchen, aber mein Mac hat alles sofort erkannt und mit iphoto ist das kein Problem.

    Kommen wir noch zu einem wichtigen Detail! Sehr wichtig finde ich.

    Die Speicherkarte. BITTE kauft keinen Mist, nur weil er 5 Euro günstiger ist. Das rächt sich! Die Kamera hat 18 megapixel. Das zerrt an der Kapazität. ca. 6 MB je Foto mit jpeg, RAW naja Mal 3-4. Also geht es um SPEED. Ich habe eine Sandisk 8 Gb Extreme III mit 30 MBit je Sekunde übertragung. DAS war/ist Gold wert, gerade bei Serienaufnahmen.

    Aber auch beim Überspielen der Daten 75 Fotos bester Qualität unter 1 Minute. So muss das sein.
    Ein paar Fotos habe ich oben in der Übersicht reingestellt.

    Finde die Camera sehr gelungen, auch die Haptik ist gut. Das Plastik ist ein Polymer aber egal.

    Wenn jemand überlegt, 500D oder 550D oder Nikon D90 , dann muss ich klar sagen ist die Canon 550 Platz 1, sicher kostet die mehr als die 500er ABER, erstens hat sie schon einen Slot für SDXC Karten, hat einen HDMI Anschluss, Qualität der Fotos ist sicher die 100 mehr Euros wert, und die HD-Movie Möglichkeit ist ja auch noch da. Auf unserem LCD und Plasma fantastische Qualität, aber man sollte hier zu große Zoomobjektive meiden...wackelt ein wenig. Aber mit dem Kit Objektiv vollkommen ausreichend und man braucht keine Videokamera mehr, wenn man der typische Familienvater ist, der seine Kinder, Hunde oder im Urlaub mal filmt. Vorsicht die Camera wird hier sehr warm. Denke Dauerfilmen ist nicht gut.

    Also wer zu lange wartet, ist selber Schuld. Für mich ein klarer Kauf und der Spassfaktor ist unbezahlbar.
    Jedes Foto ein Hit und was besonderes.

    CANON, wenn ihr nur immer so was abliefern würdet...
