Very usable bottle that doesn't leak.
I am a big user of plastic water bottles and have owned many for both myself and my children. This water bottle works really well. I generally drink a large amount of water at a time and the shape of the mouth of the bottle is designed well for this purpose. You can drink a little bit of water at a time or chug all you can. At extreme angles, there is a little bit of a glug glug, but for normal drinking (and a little chugging), the water comes out in a nice solid stream.I have two of these bottles. I haven’t had an issue with either one leaking. The cap for the bottle mouth has a little twist to it that keeps it on very well. The top of the bottle unscrews, giving you a large filling area. The markings on the bottle are in both English and Metric units. The markings are easy to read and after many washings, haven't faded yet.I have used my bottle for walks, bike rides, fishing expeditions and yard work. It has held up great.There is only one issue that I have with this bottle. The lid doesn't completely detach from the bottle with out great effort. The cap for the mouth piece is attached to the bottle with a plastic ring that runs through the lid. This plastic ring doesn't come off easily at all. This is great for not losing the lid or cap, but makes it harder to clean. I leave the lid on and just move it to the side when cleaning it in the dish washer. This is defiantly an issue I can live with.I would definitely be happy with replacing all of my water bottles with this bottle.

These "personal water carriers" are a dime-a-dozen and most are simply the same thing in different sizes. When I crashed and destroyed my previous plastic water bottle, I went looking for something different. Since I cherish my Camelbak hydration pack and was temporarily using my daughter's Camelbak "Eddy", I thought I'd check their inventory for something different and settled on the CHUTE. I didn't care for the "Eddy" as its straw limited intake (I like to gulp) and if you didn't flip the straw/bite valve down after use, it would leak through the straw/bite valve (siphoning effect).

I found the CHUTE satisfying in many ways:

- There are 2 volume options: 1L (the one I chose) and .75L.

- The body of the bottle is thick, translucent, shatterproof plastic that is lightweight.

- The bottle is topped by a large plastic cap with a smaller drinking/pouring spout built into it. It is wide enough to drop large ice cubes without issue. The large cap and the cap covering the drinking/pouring spout are tethered to the bottle by a singular plastic piece. Both caps have a rubberized surface that provides a sure twisting grip. The large cap has a squared, low-profile "handle" that also serves as a holding spot for the spout's cap (you have to pinch the smaller cap a little to snap it into place).

- The pouring spout has a lip that provides a more comfortable sipping/drinking experience that reduces the likelihood of excess liquid dripping down the sides. The spout's shape actually guides the liquid. Even better, the inside of the spout is threaded to provide additional assurance of unnecessary fluid leaks when screwing on the spout cap.

I bring a water bottle to work each day and prefer to use water enhances like Mio, Crystal Light Liquid and Dasani Drops, so anything that reduces unnecessary splash or drips of colored liquid is important. The CHUTE's design is perfect for my needs. I found it to be practical and accommodating in every facet.

I love this water bottle, and I am pretty picky with water bottles. Not too long ago I ordered the  Polar Bottle Insulated Water Bottle (24-Ounce) (Bandana)  but I didn't really like it because it has a pop top with letters engrained into the top and since this is where your lips go when you drink, dead skin from your lips accumulates in the lettering and it's disgusting. This bottle is much better. Since it is see through and a uniform shape you can easily see if it is clean or dirty. I like the pour top so I can drink a lot of water at once when I am extra thirsty. I also like the twist cap on the bottle so the part my mouth touches is kept clean. The cap can be placed in the handle, however, which is nice so I don't have to unscrew the cap every time I want a drink. If I want my water bottle accessible on the coffee table while I lounge on the couch and won't be throwing the bottle around I can tuck the cap out of the way of my drinking. One thing to note is that it may not fit in the cup holder of your car. I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla. It's nothing fancy (not even power windows or power doors), but the water bottle doesn't sit all the way into the cup. Maybe about an inch of the bottle can fit in the cup holder before it gets stuck because the water bottle is too big. This is fine with me because it still holds it in place well enough and it has a cap even if it does tip over. I'm sure if you have a newer car or a car with more extras the cup holders might be wide enough to nicely fit the bottle, but if this is something that matters to you just make sure you note the dimensions of the bottle and compare it to your car cup holder. Never thought I would write this much about a water bottle, but I really like it and would highly recommend it!

Most of us have had numerous water bottles like this in our lives. Camelbak is not your average water bottle company. They actually engineer a better solution. They nailed it with this bottle, due to just 3 simple features:

1. Angled Drinking Spout: It curves out and away from the bottle. You might think this is no big deal. Wait until you drink from the bottle. You will notice it right away. It's a fine tweak, but one that is noticeable and superior.

2. Easy-Twist Cap: This funky cap twists on and off, but not with standard threads. It's only about a half turn to put on or take off. It's secure and leak proof, but my kids can do it, and they are 7 and 8 years old. Perfect!

3. Cap Retention Strap: You won't drop or lose the cap, because it's connected! And it won't hit you in the face when you are drinking. You can either push the cap into the carry handle, or the retention strap will hold it away from your face. Either way, this is a big improvement over many other water bottles. When you wash the bottle in the dishwasher, you can take off this retention strap. It's easy to reassemble after washing.

Sometimes the simplest products are the best, especially when they are engineered really well. Such is the case here. At first glance, it's just a water bottle. But use it, and you will appreciate the small improvements that make a big difference.
