Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Customers like the performance, size and flash of the camera flash. For example, they mention it works great, is an excellent flash for Lumix and Leica V-LUX, and is small but enough powerful to make good exposed photos. That said, some complain about the ease of use, saying the dial is a little small and hard to use, and the interface is clumsy. Opinions are mixed on quality and value.

Super flash, compact yet completely Bad Ass, when using video the flash can light up the whole room, and can be used wirelessly, hence its a smart flash. Great little flash, my only small and trivial quite is that in RC or remote control mode, when I have the flash off the camera and am using it via blue tooth wirelessly, the flash automatically sends out strobe effect that I have not been able to turn off, it does not affect the quality of the picture, but just eats up the batteries, which is another complaint of mine, but not really. The thing lights up the room like a work light, and I suggest getting one of those Big packs of batteries at Home Depot, or a rechargeable battery for this baby. Works with other Panasonic cameras
Priced only slightly lower than most of marketplace, this is the flash I needed for my Olympus. The first one I received would not work, and I easily returned it. Second one works just fine. Happy for both a working flash and the ease of return.
I've tried using off-brand flash with my Panasonic FZ1000, but decided to get the OEM flash since the aftermarket flash didn't work well with camera. Good product manual, which explains how to use a flash in detail.
Extremely powerful flash with a very short recycle time. Knocked off one star because it's a big flash tube built on the smaller body and foot of the lower tier model, the Panasonic LUMIX Hybrid Flash, GN36, Video LED, Swivel & Bounce Head, Wireless TTL, DMW-FL360L. The greater weight of the flash tube makes this flash very top heavy and a more substantial body and metal foot should probably have been used. As long as you're careful when using it (don't bump into the top of the flash when it's attached to something) you should be fine.
Works well with my G6. Not anywhere as well as my Canon flash on my Canon Ti, but well enough. I haven't used it enough to really tell how it will do but out of the box it produced better pictures for me than the Metz Mz 443120PL I originally bought. It is much more size compatible. I do wish it had a full swivel head like the Metz, but still a good flash. I also agree with the other reviewers who commented on the annoying aspects of this flash, and I will add that it is way too expensive for what you get, but it works and fits this tiny camera. UPDATE: I have now had this for a while and find it to be generally pretty poor quality. I will not buy another Panasonic flash. My FL360 functioned pretty well, but its interface proved clumsy and its title exposures were frequently inaccurate - compared to my Canon flash/Canon camera combo, which were always spot on. Now that I have switched to an Olympus OM-5ii, which as a Micro 4/3 system camera is supposed to be fully compatible, this flash it is really annoying. It will not work in radio control mode even though it is supposed to and in TTL mode its exposures are even more frequently off. My main grip, however is build quality which is very poor. On this flash, the pop out diffuser and white card broke when the flash fell off the seat of my couch onto an carpeted floor, about 15 inches. That is just unacceptable. I have dropped my other flashes, the Canon, and my ancient Sunpak and Vivitar from much, much, higher - and in the case of the canon onto concrete several times - and they have just a few scratches. The Sunpack and Vivitar are over 30 years old and have taken much abuse with no parts broken. Thus, my conclusion is that this flash isn't worth half its exorbitant price. Update: still a pos, but more so since I switched camera bodies to Olympus.
I have just recently purchased GH 3 and bought this flash to go with it. The flash is really nice well-built but the menu for selecting the operation is problematic. The wireless aspect of the flash works fairly well but then again it is not a true Wi-Fi version. You must have line of sight for the flash to trip. I would still purchased this unit again because probably some of the issues are that I need to learn more about it.
I wanted to like this flash but was disappointed and sent it back. Two primary reasons: 1. My first impression taking out box was that the built-in flash head accessories, the bounce card and wide diffuser, were difficult to move and difficult to grip. I actually had to use a screwdriver to pry them up. This was before I even got batteries in it and powered it on. The mechanism for those components is flimsy and fragile and nearly impossible to use. 2. It has been well documented that the LED flashes when in remote modes and cannot be turned off. Unfortunately that is not just a small status LED, but the main video light, strobing away and lighting up my entire room every few seconds. There is no way I could use this remotely in any room with other people present.
