From the manufacturer
Not only good looking, smart too!
Pictar app offers easy control of the iPhone’s camera, with unique features such as manual focus, shutter priority, ISO priority and more. It is wirelessly operated via ultrasonic system for significant power saving compared to existing Bluetooth systems.
Pictar’s app is a turbo engine that drives Pictar forward. To develop it, Miggo teamed up with an app development company that not only provided the app with ease of use but also new features that do not exist in the iPhone’s camera, such as preset modes and more.
One of the app’s most exciting components is the operating interface powered by sound frequencies. When the user operates one of the external controls it produces a sound frequency (18,500 – 20,000 kHz) which cannot be heard by the human ear. When this frequency is detected by the app it generates an appropriate action. This method significantly reduces battery drainage by both the phone and the Pictar device.

It is now sitting in a drawer and will probably sit there until I get over the remorse of wasted money and throw it into the trash and de-cluttering my life. I waited too long to give this thing a good workout and its too late to return, so benefit from my experience and save your money.
Wish I didn’t have to remove the protective case from my iPhone 8plus
However, once I started using it I found that the grip wasn't substantial enough for my hand and the shutter button along with the control wheels were difficult to use.
I also found that the commands were way too slow for the phone to implement. Perhaps this is due to the ultrasonic connection.
I would like to see a larger grip with a more ergonomic design, larger shutter button with greater "travel" and larger control wheels. But the biggest negative for me is the slow reaction to commands.
However, my iPhone 11 takes better pictures than my Sony RX100; except for the zoom lens.
Finding a case to mimic a camera, was very difficult; unlike the Camera Grip case for my Nokia 1040.
At first, I tried the Adonit Photogrip but it felt very awkward in my hands and the Bluetooth Shutter button kept sliding out of the holder.
I was going to buy the Adonit Photogrip Qi; looks more stable and has a 35000mAh battery to boot.
However, I saw the Pictar Smartgrip and I was enchanted.
It had the lines and color of my favorite Rangefinder.
When I received it, I was taken aback that it is all plastic; feeling very chintzy.
I decided to try it out before condemning it as third-rate.
Now we arrive at my frustration...
This device requires a "battery"
Which battery, who knows?!
The manual just says it needs a battery to function, no indication of 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 battery is needed.
I run out to my nearest Photomat (aka Walmart) and I see two batteries that could fit, I buy them both; A23 & N size batteries.
The A23 barely fits, it's very tight but they're is a small red switch in the battery compartment that needs to be depressed, in order to turn on; this battery is way too skinny.
The N battery is wide enough, however, the spring at the bottom will not compress enough for the battery to fit.
I consider trimming the spring but what if this is the wrong battery too??
I look in YouTube to see about cutting a AA battery in half but that would end in disaster!!
So... I am left with a device I cannot use.
Teaches me not to read reviews before buying...

It’s not very responsive and crashes all the time. Unless this gets some major updates and bug fixes, I’m afraid to say that you’d be better off using the phones’ camera alone
Ich hatte es mit einem Iphone x versucht, vielleicht klappt es ja bei einem älteren Handy besser.
Ging leider direkt nach dem Urlaub in den Müll
