Love ATAC, but they need to re-engineer some things

Love ATAC, but they need to re-engineer some things
I have been riding ATAC pedals for about 25 years and I generally love them. One of the things I don't like is with their latest design is that the pins holding the springs together consistently tend to work their way out on my right pedal. If you look at the first photo carefully, you can see the pin has worked its way out after about 3 rides. The other photo is the other side of the same pedal where the pin has remained flush in the correct position. I don't know why that is and I am sure it has something to do with how I clip in/out with my right foot, but I'm getting tired of stopping every couple of rides and bashing it flush into the pedal with a rock or whatever. I have a set of old ATAC Pro pedals from like 20+ years ago that still work perfectly, and other than the cosmetic yellow plastic dust cover on them, they perform like new. I just wish the new ATACs were as maintenance free as the old ones, and I struggle to understand why the design changed. It may look better but they do not perform better. So my feedback to ATAC is to redesign their pedals with fewer failure points.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seriously, Time?
Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2020
One ride and the pivot pins backed out (the knurled black pin in the photos). Time's customer service was good about replacing them, but I have zero confidence that these things are going to last. Compare the latest design to the ATACS from the past. The older ones are built like battleships. I have ATACS that have gouges deeper than the thickness of the plastic on these. If you're a Time loyal rider like I was, it's time to think about switching. Their current lineup is severely lacking in durability.
