Very stable and comfortable to hold.

My first Gimbal, makes my videos much more enjoyable to watch and requires less concentration filming as I can hold it haphazardly and it will always remain stable (it does what it's designed to do). Have only used it for a 2 week vacation, but overall it worked great. It did get momentarily confused with finding the horizon on a helicopter ride when taking sharp turns, but it recovered on its own after about 5 seconds. Battery does take several hours to recharge using a 3.0 USB on a laptop. It never died after a day of shooting, but it did drain down to the last indicator and I wasn't filming nonstop. On and off over the course of 12 hours, maybe 2 hours of footage total. Would like a removable battery. On borrowed time before the it starts losing capacity, but should be 3 or 4 years down the road. I'll likely drop this on its head before then anyway.

Did some hiking in the smokies last week and mounted this on my seeker backpack, worked great and the videos were nice and smooth. The hikes were just over an hour each and I still had battery life. I connected the GoPro app and was able to watch what was being recorded from my iPhone, very cool. The trails were mostly flat. I thought there was a little learning curve, so before you take it somewhere just get familiar with it first, it’s a great accessory for the gopro, it’s worth it.

I had a connectivity problem between camera and grip at first which I resolved by removing the camera from the grip and reinserting the camera a couple of times. Maybe the contact pins were new and needed to be worked in a little. Now it works fine. Also, all of the latest updates for camera and grip should be installed. Now that I have played with it for a few days, I love it. It works just as expected. I just bought the Karma Grip Extension Cable and it works perfectly as well. So far, I am happy with the whole set up and can't wait to put it to a real test out on some real adventure.

Best Option for Stabilized GoPro Footage

From all the research I have deducted into making this purchase, this is probably the best option for stable video. I brought this gimbal to already several adventures and it has done excellent! Totally recommend it! It is very easy to use and get used to. With this gimbal advertising for only 2 hours of battery life, this may be an inconvenience for many. But I've had this gimbal last me a whole day of tourism and sightseeing. This can also be charged the same time that it is being used to having it being charged all along with you all day is pretty nice. YOU NEED TO BUY THE CASE. This is a necessity and i don't like how gopro charges how much for it. But it is very necessary cuz u wont have a spot to put your gimbal in without the case.

Invisible and thus Unusable

I gave it one star because I can't use it; having said that, I'll also say that I don't think it's defective. The fact that it doesn't work stems from my inability to update the firmware, without which the grip would only function as an oversized (single port!) USB hub. I never could get my Win 10 Acer computer to recognize it, and remained stuck at the starting gate, unable to install the drivers I'd been provided with in order to update manually since the GoPro Quik app couldn't or wouldn't do it automatically. If the grip didn't show in Device Manager, you couldn't proceed, and it never did show after a great many attempts. I have a younger brother whose wife is a whole lot more tech-savvy, and they've got the 2 Hero 5 Blacks I sent them last year; I'll be sending the repacked Karma Grip to them. I'll just go back to using my Hero 7 with Hyper-smooth Stabo; I'd ordered the grip to avoid the 10 percent screen cropping.

This thing seemed to have a solid build quality. I have the GoPro7 and while it already has image stabilization but it was still a great accessory to have. I got it right before a trip to NYC that I took this year and got some great footage. You barely notice it moving while you're walking. I also made a few cinematic shots with this because of how smooth it is. Definitely would recommend.

I have only gone out three times since the purchase, but this gimbal works perfect with my GoPro Hero 7 Black. I had a quark prior to applying firmware updates, but afterwards it has proven to work like a charm. The one downside is that it did not come with a case, so I had to make a separate purchase. The unboxing YouTube videos I had seen were packaged with a case, so GoPro must have decided to do things a little different then they once did.

The Karma grip’s battery life is excellent and isn’t affected by the cold. The build quality is beefy and it’s so much easier to use. You literally hit a button to turn on the gimbal and the hero 6 at the same time. Tap record on the gimbal and your set. I have been presently surprised by the karma and now that I’ve used it on a few cold days I can’t go back.

I have had the Karma Grip for a few months and have used it quite a bit so far while travelling. I feel it made a huge difference in my videos and was worth the money. There are a lot of mixed reviews, some with respect to sound issues. I have not had any problems with using the grip, no issues with sound, and I find it keeps a charge well. I am an amateur with the GoPro, so for me, this works great and I'm happy with the purchase.
