My best friend broke up with me in 3rd grade, I was devastated, wrote a song about it and for the first time I realized that music could help me through the difficult stuff What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Björk, Homogenic Michael Jackson, HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I Robyn, Body Talk Each of these albums widened the playground of pop and inspired me to make my own rules in music. My body and my mind moves and thinks in new ways with these songs in my ears and I wouldn't be the same person or musician without them. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Love You Have In You” The first song I was genuinely terrified to release and almost didn't, out of fear that the world wouldn't understand. The way it was embraced made me braver and now, when I experience that same fear, I know the song has to see the light of day. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Every year I play 50+ concerts at high schools, to inject the teens with more freedom and courage to be exactly who they want to be. It's not a normal pop-star duty, I know - but I think it's the most meaningful thing I've ever done in my career. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Forever total creative freedom. My best album is still ahead. Also, I just wanna build this indie popstar career to a point where I can come play for all of you beautiful people around the world, who are listening to me & my weirdopop.
