Senderos de Traición

Senderos de Traición

Spanish-language rock was never the same after Zaragoza quartet Héroes del Silencio got hold of it. Tracks like the anthemic "Senda" and the midtempo grind of "Malas Intenciones" have all the fist-pumping grandeur of U.S. and European arena rock. There are prog-rock influences in the heavy yet lyrical guitar sound on "Maldito Duende" (it's no coincidence that Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera is their producer). Best of all, Enrique Bunbury shouts to the heavens as "Entre Dos Tierras" charges to its killer chorus.
