I am a senior citizen and it is very hard for me kneading the dough, that's why I bought this Hamilton Beach Mixer. I like that this mixer have only few important accessories, very easy to handle, and easy to clean. I hope this mixer will last for a long time so I can enjoy baking and cooking.

I used to have a regular corded Hamilton Beach mixer that lasted about fifteen years, until a family member got a wooden spoon caught between the spokes of one of the wands and blew the motor on it. I tried a different brand mixer, which was given to me as a gift, but it really paled in comparison to my old HB one.

Since I'd kept all my old HB mixer wands (hoping to use them in a new mixer), I decided to try this mixer out--it was too good a deal to pass up. The old HB wands all fit this mixer, which is great, because I had the dough hooks, the whiskers, and the regular beating wands, so it's good to have extras for days I do a lot of baking.

The pros of this unit:

-It's well made. Looks nice, is sturdy, and performs well.
-The bottom bowl rest is made to manually turn like a lazy susan.
-Once the detachable mixer is fitted onto the stand unit, it's sturdy and easy to use.
-The bowl is nicely sized and made to last. It fits perfectly onto the bowl rest and doesn't rock.
-It's easy to clean
-my old HB mixer wands fit in this one.
- It doesn't take up too much space in my cabinet. I also own a 6-quart professional Kitchen-aid mixer and It's too large to fit into any of my cabinets, so I have to store it out on the counter. This one fits, fully operational, in an upper cabinet easily.

The cons:
-When using it without the stand (which I do often), it isn't as stable sitting on it's end on the counter. The bottom isn't perfectly flat, so it rocks a bit and if you don't put it down on the counter carefully, it will likely tip over.
-There are large horizontal vents on the front of the mixer where the motor turns the wands and it's easy for flour and other dry ingredients to get into those struts when mixing stuff. (Since this isn't the first appliance I've had with such an issue, I've learned to keep a can of compressed air in my kitchen drawer to blow such areas out after using the appliance.)

This really didn’t work well as a stand mixer. It is mostly a hand mixer with a stand as opposed to true stand mixer. To reach the sides of the bowl you have to take it off the stand. Returned as it just didn’t work like needed it to.

I needed a mixer but didn't want to break the bank so I ordered this. Looking at the unit profile, it is beautiful, the color, the build, and the three extra attachments. Once you start using it you realize a big design flaw that should have been noticed. As the unit mixes the bowl turns too. So far so good... Then the bowl starts spinning so fast it pulls the material inside to the bowl walls, as the paddles are spinning and it turns into a science experiment about to create a portal. Once you realize you must hold the bowl and treat it like throwing a clay pot on a wheel you decide to use it as a hand mixer and detach it from the base. Afterwards you are holding this big bulky hand mixer now trying to stir what's left of your cookie dough for your kids and they are standing there looking at you like they just witnessed an accident and it's you vs the pretty red mixer.
