Memory failures can and will happen. Having a card company that will stand behind their product and help recover images is a must. A few lessons I have learned over the years to minimize card failures are:
1. When upgrading to the next generation of camera, upgrade your cards. New cameras almost always have more speed, large file formats and processing power. Don't let your memory cards be the bottle neck. This can lead to crashing cameras, corrupted files, and the like.
2. Avoid shooting all the way to the end of your cards until not a single additional image can be taken. I have suffered from truncated cards and files from doing this. They are normally recoverable except for the last few images, but it can cause extra street and work.
3. Format cards in camera not in the computer. (Always format in the device that you will be using the card if possible.)
4. If a card goes bad, don't panic. Take it out of the camera immediately. Set it aside. For most cards, images can be recovered with software or sending them to a recovery service. Never use a card that has hap problems. Replace them immediately.
5. Be nice to your cards especially when they are out of the camera. If one point of contact becomes damaged, the entire card can become compromised. Humidity, salt, dirt and water are all enemies of cards and most electronics in general.
6. Sometimes corruption isn't the fault of the card but the reader. I have encountered this personally at least twice over the years and heard of many more cases from my photographer friends.
7. If there is a major manufacturing defect in a electronic device, they tend to present themselves right away. Run any new piece of gear through its paces before using it for a paying or important task.
I informally tested the Lexar by recording four back to back 15 minute 4K recordings and the LX100 got very warm, but there was not a single hiccup. The Lexar card also recorded 100 12MP still shots in the 11fps high speed burst mode before slowing down. The PNY could manage 95 shots before slowing down so it's not a huge difference for stills, but I wouldn't want to risk using the PNY for video and having a 4K recording stop unexpectedly. In Windows 7 with an OCZ Vertex 4 SSD and Transcend USB 3.0 card reader, I copied a 6.5GB file to and from the Lexar card and it averaged about 60-65MB/s writing TO the card and copying FROM the card averaged 87-90MB/s. Basically, this Lexar Pro card seems to be rock solid for 4K recording and I will update this review if I have any problems.
On a side note, it annoys me that even though most cameras format SD cards in exFAT which no longer has a 4GB file limit size like FAT32 did, a 30 minute clip will still be broken up into 6 or so separate 4GB files. I'd like the option to record a video into one giant file. In addition, most cameras limit video recording to 30 minutes due to some EU tax applied to camcorders, but since we're in the US, I don't see why we should be stuck with this limit too. Fortunately, the US version of the upcoming Panasonic DMC-FZ2500 4K camera seems to have no recording duration limit and may even support files of up to 96GB with an SDXC card. I can't wait to see if this is true.
UPDATE (09-29-2015) - I uploaded benchmark results with a new card reader Kingston Digital MobileLite G4 USB 3.0 Multi-Function Card Reader (FCR-MLG4) and CrystalDiskMark 5.0.2 x64, Windows 10 Pro.

UPDATE (11-16-2016) - My card is still going strong and I haven't had any problems. I am looking at new cameras like the Panasonic DMC-FZ2500, Fujifilm X-T2 (two UHS-II card slots!) and the Sony A6500 so I may buy more of these Lexar SDXC cards and make the old reliable one as the backup.

What makes this SD card great is its ultra-fast write speed. This means you can record high-definition video without any hassle. The 32GB capacity is also a good compromise between storage space and price. And the reliability of the Lexar brand is something you can't ignore.
But there are a few points to consider. The 32GB capacity may be limited if you're making very long recordings in very high resolution. And, of course, it's a little more expensive than standard SD cards, but quality comes at a price.
Since I've been using this card for my daughter's battery videos, we've never had a problem with data loss or slowdown during recording. It's a relief to know that my daughter's memories and progress are safe on this card.
The Lexar SDHC is therefore an excellent option for those looking for a fast, reliable memory card for their video recordings. It combines performance and reliability, making it an ideal choice for capturing important moments.
For a show or special event, I always recommend using an SD card that has been in use for less than two months. It's a bit like choosing a gala outfit for a special occasion - you want something reliable and in perfect condition.
A week before the event, I start "breaking in" the card. This means I use it a little to make sure it works perfectly. It's like a test run before the big day. It allows me to detect any problems and to have peace of mind that everything will work properly on the big day.
In short, for your day-to-day practices, a good SD card will do the trick, but for the really important moments, make sure you have a nearly new, well-tested card. This avoids nasty surprises and lets you concentrate on what really matters your show or event.
Not a single file was ever lost and it's saving and displaying photos quickly and reliably.
I must have shot thousands of images and this SD card is working as well as on the first day.
128GB is also more than enough capacity - even when shooting in RAW at 24 Megapixels for days on end.
