Devices
• Roku Ultra (IR)
• Denon AVR (IR)
• TV (IR)
• PS3 (Bluetooth)
• HTPC-Kodi (IR)
• Lutron Caseta dimmer lights via the Smart Bridge (Wi-Fi)
Activities
• Stream via Roku
• Watch movies on Kodi (HTPC)
• Control PS3
When I changed out the old IR controlled Lutron dimmers with the Wi-Fi based ones, my Harmony 700 no longer had the ability to control the lights, for that I would have to use the smart phone app. I used to have an Echo for that purpose but I got rid of it.
The Harmony 700 was also having trouble controlling my HTPC once I upgraded to Windows 10, so I had to use my Windows Media remote control for navigating through Kodi, which was inconvenient. The PS3 rarely gets used these days. I turned it on to watch a movie once in the last 20 months when our internet was down overnight, so that is a non-factor.
The setup for the new unit was relatively simple thanks to the Harmony app I have been using. I was able to copy all my devices and activities to the new remote through the app on Windows 10. I also downloaded the phone app, which took some getting used to, but once I did I found it to be faster and more convenient than the Windows counterpart. For instance, the light controls can only be programmed and assigned through the phone app.
The only device with which the new remote had some issue was Kodi. I had to re-teach the direction buttons, which took multiple tries until it finally learned the commands. I had some concerns about the IR blaster sending commands to the TV and the USB IR sensor (connected to the PC, which is in another room), but there is no problem with this at all even though there is no direct line-of-sight between the blaster and the IR sensors.
The remote feels snappy and responsive across all devices except for the Lutron. There is a noticeable lag after each button command. It's a minor quibble, and it's not ideal, but something you can live with.
Another side goal for the future is to be able to control Nvidia Shield, with which I plan to replace the Roku. As an aside, Roku is not meeting my needs as a device to stream movies on Plex for couple of reasons: it does not pass through lossless TrueHD Dolby Atmos tracks, and HDR. The latest model of the Shield does not have IR remote sensors, so this remote control will do the job.
Pros
• One remote I ever need to control all my devices
• Relatively easy to setup
• Great form-factor - light and feels good in your hand for one-handed controls
• Superb smart phone app integration
• Strong IR signals through its IR blaster
Cons
• Significant lag in controlling Lutron Wi-Fi devices
• No backlight on the remote
• Since it's not back-lit the buttons could have used some tactile features to provide some bearing without having to look
Overall this product is well worth having if your goal is to remove the multiple remotes clutter in your living room. The setup, while easy, will still take you a chunk of time. Once done, however, you will love the convenience.

I had some reservations about this new system because of some of the reviews I read, but I am really glad I pulled the trigger on this Harmony Companion hub. It is head and shoulders above Logitech's similarly priced handheld remotes in my honest opinion.
I was a little worried about ordering a refurbished device, but this little hub and remote arrived quickly and like new in its original packaging and was quite easy to set up and connect to my home's Wi-Fi. I wasn't able to migrate my devices over from my old Harmony account, but that wasn't a big deal because I had two newer devices that I had not yet entered in my Harmony account.
I had considered ordering just the hub, but I wanted the peace of mind of having a back up handheld remote just in case the mobile app didn't meet my expectations. As it stands now, the handheld remote will likely get very little use because the mobile app really is that good.
I have been searching for years for an app that would turn my mobile phone into a remote control. I hapay to declare that I have finally realized this elusive dream with this hub.
I was able to add a 15-year-old Insignia TV, a 10-year-old Harman Kardon AVR, an old Toshiba HD DVD player, a nearly new Goobang Doo Android box and a Sony PS3 to the app's list of devices without a problem. I was even able to use mobile app to control various functions of my PS3, which allowed me to confirm I had a bad PS3 controller, not a glitched box or game.
I just cannot say enough good things about this system. It gives me full access to my TV and AVR settings when they need tweaking and thebmobike app is more feature laden than the Android box's standard remote control.
I can't offer any feedback on technical support because their help wasn't needed. If I hadn't utilized the set up instructions at the Logitech web page, I might have needed support because the print manual was pretty sparse. We also have no smart devices yet, so I can't offer feedback on how the hub interacts with Alexa or other smart devices or controllers.
Thanks Amazon for providing me another great product at a great price!!
