    Our Solution
This is our 6th child and last baby.... I have given a whole lot of baths over the years! I've tried regular baby bathtubs, a prince lionheart pod, a bath sling, and, what I ended up liking the most, an inexpensive bath sponge in the bottom of a large sink with water running in the corner of the sink. The sponge keeps baby warm, and I always preferred running clean water over baby over sitting in dirty (and probably peed-in) bath water. However, in our new house, I have no big single sink! I bought a new old standby -- the bath sponge -- but after dry running the positioning in the laundry room's utility sink (too deep and awkward,) the bathtub (awkward and water stream so big,) and the kitchen sink (half of a double sink is just too small -- baby can't lie down on the sponge; and having to disinfect the kitchen sink before and after every bath time wasn't appealing, either).... I found this tub. It's expensive, but the idea of dreading 2-3 bath times every week for many months was a worse deal.Pros:- Double sink solution! The kitchen sink is definitely the most comfortable place, height-wise, to set up bath shop on a regular basis. This allows you to utilize that place without actually having to bathe baby in the kitchen sink. It is the only tub I found to fit over the common double sink. Its seating over it feels secure and does not slide around. Both sides of the tub are the same, so you could position this with baby's head on either side of the sink (given your faucet pivots to both sides.) I did not have the jagged-edge QC issue described by some other reviewers.- The water flow design is actually very nice. The water stream runs into a trough that runs over the temperature gauge, then into a small basin, then down into the baby's space. So, if your temperature goes into the too-hot or too-cold range, you have some warning to adjust before it hits baby. If you don't want the water to run into the baby's area at all, there is a drain plug you can open at the bottom of the small basin.- The temperature gauge. I always just used my hand/wrist to gauge baby bath water, and probably still could... But have realized with the use of this that when using running water, the temperature can change while it's running, even if it's been steady for a while. This gives you something of an alert when this happens. The display is color coded, as well; backlight is blue under 90 degrees, green from 90-99.9, and red at 100 and above. It also has audible beep indications between these levels and continues to beep when in the red zone.- There are three drain plugs: one in the bottom of the small basin and one on each side of the main tub, at different levels. This allows for adjustment between having baby soak vs water drain over and out, etc.- There is a cup holder on either side. The tub comes with a little cup (I imagine to use to pour water over baby; we don't use it, as I just use the pull-out faucet to rinse,) but I use the cup holders for baby wash.Cons:- I would not use this without a positioning sponge, which is another purchase both upfront and possibly again over the next few months. We bathe baby about three times/week and even though I rinse and drain the sponge well after each use, I replace it every month or two.- The price. Compared to other baby tubs on the market, this definitely is expensive. If we had a big single sink like we used to, I would definitely just use a sponge.A note on storage: unless you are taking baby into the tub or shower with you, you will have to store some kind of baby bathing apparatus for roughly six months or so until baby can sit up in the bathtub. I have a folded towel on the laundry room floor that I set this on to dry and store after and between uses. All in all, a solid four stars. Five stars if the price were more reasonable, it came with some kind of newborn positioner or sponge, and the cup holders had drain holes. Don't regret the purchase.
